November 2011

President’s Letter Fall is upon us, the leaves are falling and the winter time waterfowl are making their appearance at TCC. The greens have healed from the fall aeration, so take advantage of the warm days and get out on the course. However, in the event temperatures are not ideal for golf in the upcoming weeks, TCC still has some great activities planned. To start, we will be having our Prime Rib Thursdays every Thursday in November, except on Thanksgiving when the Club is closed. On November 12th, do not miss the Waterfowl Fall Fling, followed by the three-day Pro Shop Extravaganza on the 17th, 18th and 19th of this month. Italian Night will be held on November 23rd. Please come out and support the TCC… our staff is waiting for you. With the winter months ahead of us, you may see some capital projects taking place. We will be adding drainage to the greens on holes # 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 & 8. This drainage is the same as we installed on holes 7, 9 & 14. It is our goal to have this drainage in all greens before the start of the 2013 golf season. We will continue with bunker renovations, cart path repair and, as during previous winters, Guy and his staff will be pruning the trees around TCC to keep them healthy and the golf course playable. Due to the resignation from the Board of one of our Governors, and in accordance with the Club’s Bylaws, the Board of Governors appointed TCC member, George Domurot, to complete the unexpired term of the resigned Governor. George and his wife, Beverly, have been members of TCC since 2006. The Board of Governors feels George will bring valuable knowledge and experience to the TCC Board. As we enter the winter months, we may see our resignation numbers increase slightly. I can assure you, however, the Membership Committee, along with Chris Wyles and Kelly Hall, have put together some great incentives for our future members as well as for our existing membership. Please review these incentives and make that call to a friend or someone you feel would make a great TCC member. One of the best ways for us to prevent future increases in dues is by adding new members. The incentive plans that were introduced in 2010-11 have worked wonderfully. All but one membership continued after the first year. If you have someone that you would like to see here at TCC, please let Chris Wyles know and he will work with you and the new prospective member with a tour of our great facilities. Please join the Board of Governors and me at the Club’s Annual Meeting to be held on December 6, 2011. I hope to see you there. Butch Townsend President
