When is BritWeek? April 24 – May 7, 2012. This year, the sixth anniversary of BritWeek is particularly exciting as we salute and pay homage to the Queen of England's 60th Jubilee and the 2012 Olympic Games hosted by Great Britain.
What is BritWeek? BritWeek is a celebration of all things British in California, I hope you are off to a really good start, and welcome to the first highlighting the amazing depth and breadth of British Patriot issue of 2012. Our theme for this issue is 'Staying Out connections here. The Brits are the biggest foreign investors Of Trouble' and who wouldn't want to do that! These days in the state, and they make their mark in every aspect of life there's any number of ways to run into trouble, and most of and culture. them, are imagined or certainly unintentional! With that in mind we have called upon the expertise and wisdom of a few members to shed light on some relevant issues that could either land you in hot water if you are not aware of them, or share information that will help you avoid unnecessary problems. Ever wonder if workplace violence could happen at your business or what you could do to prevent it? BABC member Joe Grillo has experienced it first hand and he shares his expertise on how you might prevent it happening in the first place. Unless you own them, intellectual property rights sound a bit dull, but if you've ever copied and pasted information you found online and used it without permission you could land yourself in hot water, Lynda Zydra Symes shares information you need to know about copyright and trademark laws. Talking of laws there's always a slew of new ones, and BABC members Jim Hart and Angela Burton have the latest scoop on updated employment laws and some new ones that could affect your home and/or rental properties. And did you know that if you hold foreign assets, you have a new filing requirement – check out what Bina Patel has to say on the subject. Where does BritWeek take place? BritWeek 2012 will take place at numerous venues throughout Los Angeles, Orange Counties and San Francisco. How can I attend BritWeek events? There are dozens of events during BritWeek, some of which are by invitation only and others that are open to the public.
