GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION Awards Regatta Champions – Overall Low-Net Team Gross Champions – Overall Low-Gross Team Flight Winner – Low Net Score Team Handicaps All players must have a current USGA or GHIN Index and have posted at least ten18-hole scores in the last twelve months (July 15th, 2015 to July 1st, 2016). Handicaps will be determined by using the low index over the past three months with a maximum of 27. The Handicap/Tournament Committee reserves the right to review and adjust any and all handicaps it deems necessary. Members and guest will be advised of any changes, and changes are retroactive to the first day of play. Tie In case of a tie for the Overall Gross or Net Champions, a sudden-death playoff will be played immediately after the competition has concluded. Teams will play holes #18 and #10 continuously until a champion is determined. The format will be the Aggregate of Both Players. All other ties will be determined by the back-nine scoring method as recommended by the USGA (Rule 33-6) Rules Tournament/COMBO tee markers. USGA rules govern all play except where modified by the local rules. See the back of the tournament scorecard for more information. Please note that distance only range finders and USGA conforming golf clubs are allowed. Cell phone use is not permitted beyond the parking lot. Please silence your cell phone at all times while at the Club

The tournament committee and golf course superintendent decision is final. Cancellation Policy Cancellations accepted through Friday, July 1st, 2016. A $300 fee will be charged to the member if cancelled after Friday, July 1st, 2016. No changes of guest will be allowed after Friday, July 1st, 2016.

Thursday, July 21st Tournament Round One – Challenger Cup 1st and 10th tees Better Ball of Partners – Gross and Net – Full Handicap Starting times and Pairings are posted on the Club website at 7:30 AM the day before each round. 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM Breakfast Buffet in the Men’s Grill 7:10 AM – 8:48 AM Crossover 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM Lunch Served on the Men’s Grill 11:54 AM – 1:33 PM Crossover 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM Course Snacks on the 6th Tee

Friday, July 22nd Tournament Round Two – Defender Cup 1st and 10th tees – Scotch Pinehurst – Fifty Percent of Team Handicap On par 4 and par 5 holes, each partner tees off then each partner then hits his partner’s tee ball. The best second shot is selected and alternate shots are then hit until the ball is holed. On par 3 holes, each partner hits a tee ball. The best tee ball is selected and alternate shots are hit until the ball is holed. SCHEDULE & FORMAT SCORING Saturday, July 23rd Tournament FINAL Round – Governor’s Cup 1st and 10th tees – Aggregate Scores of Partners – Max Score Double Net Par per Player (Except Par 3’s) – Gross and Net – Full Handicap – Tee times are assigned based on the total score of the first two days. Highest scores will play early and lower scores will play later. 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM Breakfast Buffet in the Men’s Grill 7:10 AM – 8:48 AM Crossover 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Lunch Served on the Men’s Grill 11:54 AM – 1:33 PM Crossover 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM Course Snacks on the 6th Tee 6:30 PM Awards Ceremony in the Newport Ballroom followed by hosted cocktail party, bar, hors d’oeuvres and dancing Attire – Country Club Casual


RULES The rules pertaining to this tournament are located on the scorecard. They differ slightly from those on our regular scorecards, so please note the following: Be advised that there are absolutely NO GIMMIES, NO ROOT RELIEF, AND CELL PHONE USAGE IS LIMITED TO THE PARKING LOT ONLY. Scorecards must be signed, attested and turned in to the scorekeepers each day immediately after play. Thursday and Saturday rounds will be posted as tournament scores by the Tournament Committee. Since Thursday’s round is Better Ball, you might have some holes where you pick-up because you are out of the hole. Please use the Equitable Stroke Control Limit to not exceed your maximum strokes allowed. Lateral water hazard: holes #3 and #17. Water hazard: hole #4. Relief must be taken from ornamental flower beds: holes #1, #5, #8, #10, #11, #12 and #18. Tee times for all three days are established by the Tournament Committee. Absolutely NO SWITCHING is permitted, but pairings can be requested for all days, other than Saturday, July 23rd, 2016. Contact the golf shop to request pairing. Starting times for Saturday, July 23rd will be emailed to you on Friday, July 22nd or find out by calling (949)644-9680. Handicaps will be based on the low index from the last three months with a maximum of 27. Out of bounds: Boundary fences and all white OB stakes. Service road right of hole #3, left of hole #16, and behind #18 green* (*drop area behind green). Relief may be taken (no penalty) no nearer the hole.
