Integrated alarm, access control and video verification in a single cost-effective solution
Manufacturer and distributor of security solutions, RISCO, has expanded its product portfolio for the commercial and high-end residential markets, with the launch of a cloud-based integrated alarm, access control and video verification solution.
LightSYS+ Access Control is an extension of RISCO’s LightSYS+ scalable hybrid intruder alarm system which was launched in January 2022 and named PSI’s Premier Award Intruder Alarm Product of the Year.
By incorporating integrated access control with LightSYS+, the innovative product offers multiple protection layers in a single EN50131 and PD6662 compliant solution, precluding the complexity of combining two standalone systems, facilitating quicker, easier and more cost-effective installation. The new solution also requires installers to only carry a relatively

small amount of stock and to train their engineers in the fitting of one product instead of two.
The single integrated LightSYS+ Access Control is an economical alternative for projects involving up to 32 doors and 512 zones, for which separate access control and intruder alarm systems are unnecessarily expensive, providing excessive levels of functionality.
Labour saving
LightSYS+ Access Control connects via RISCO BUS, the most flexible wiring configuration on the market that can save installers materials and many hours of labour. It facilitates 3-badge arming, giving users the option to arm a partition by presenting their tag three times, as well as via the RisControl keypad or iRISCO app.
Activation of the door control scheduler enables the prevention of selected users from opening a specific door during up to
two intervals per day. When a zone is tripped without a user first pressing the PTE (push to exit) button or presenting a tag to the reader, the forced door function sends a push notification to the iRISCO smartphone app, whilst the keypad beeps and shows the message “Forced Door Open”.
The DOTL (door open too long) facility allows users to define the length of time a door may be left open without triggering a notification and alarm, while the event log registers access control activity. The DOR (door opener reader) is IP65 rated so it can be used either indoors or outdoors and may operate in extreme temperatures from -10 to 55 degrees C. Access control activity is recorded in the event log. The capacity of the event log on the main board is 2000 events, separate to the system event log which provides a further 2000 security system events.
Backwards compatability
The new solution is backwards compatible, so installers can easily upgrade existing LightSYS+ projects to integrate the access control facility. They benefit from a comprehensive range of support services, including training events, webinars and videos and UK-based technical assistance. RISCO’s concise product portfolio facilitates security of supply.
Said RISCO’s UK and Ireland managing director, Mark Taylor: “LightSYS+ Access Control was developed in response to demand from the NSI (National Security Inspectorate) and SSAIB (Security Systems Alarms Inspection Board) accredited installers who form a rapidly increasing share of our customer base.
www.psimagazine.co.uk
“Many seek to further expand their businesses in the high-end residential and large-scale commercial sectors - including those in the office, logistics, retail, hospitality and manufacturing industries – where access control is increasingly stipulated.
“The new integrated LightSYS+ Access Control solution provides these installers with a high quality, cost-effective system that enables them to meet this demand precisely…. and profitably.”

The switch allows two or more ports to build one or more fault tolerant rings, where, for example, a two-port bundle can be used to provide 120W (Max), configured as Port 1 60W/Port 2 60W, or Port 1 90W/Port 2 30W, etc. In the event of a network interruption, the ring closes automatically (in less than 20ms), to maintain the availability of the system.
For the backbone, two SFP 100/1000Base SX/LX/ ZX bays can be used for multimode or singlemode fibre. The switch can also be used as a standalone device, for pointto-point connections or connection modules. The extensive possibilities of the supplied barox management software allows the switch to be deployed in systems with high functionality demands, such as PTZ camera domes, LED illuminators, wipers and heaters - negating the need for a network injector.
Unlike with generic data switches, the barox RY-LPITE-802GBTME video switch is specifically designed to cope with the high demands of video security networks and includes sophisticated built-in cyber security, with strong network hygiene. Alongside this, the barox switch can be easily integrated into third party Video Management Systems, and active PoE management and reporting, along with the ability to monitor and operate energy management for all connected devices across the network. To support ease of use and system reliability, the RY-LPITE-802GBTME supports engineers with an excellent diagnostics tool, featuring a Digital Management Systems with interactive topology maps of the

The barox DIN rail RY-LPITE-802GBTME switch is proven to provide reliable, high-performance power management, remote reboot, device diagnostics, real-time alarms and notifications. As an example, the switch can power many IP cameras, including their accessories, (such as white light and infrared LED illuminators), and provide reliable active PoE management and reporting. This, along with the ability to monitor and operate energy management for all connected devices across the network, means cameras can be remotely rebooted. This means there’s no need for an engineer to visit a site to physically unplug a power injector to re-boot a camera. The barox switch can proactively save valuable time and money, and vastly reduce network down-time throughout the lifetime of the system.
Designed for the high demands of video security networks, the barox RY-LPITE802GBTME video switch includes sophisticated built-in cyber security, with strong network hygiene. “TiOC is a true ‘threein-one’ solution, delivering a standalone surveillance, perimeter protection and deterrence package”
The latest version of Dahua’s three-in-one camera features full colour surveillance, intelligent perimeter protection and active deterrence making it an all-in-one automated surveillance solution.
Features of TiOC 2.0 include Auto Tracking 3.0, which features a deep learning algorithm to automatically track pre-defined moving targets. It uses a combination of intelligence and focusing algorithms to provide a smooth tracking process and can track targets up to a distance of 870 metres.
TiOC 2.0s active deterrence comprises both a siren and red/blue warning light. This is more eye-catching in daytime than white light, and can be seen even in dense fog and heavy rain. An enhanced speaker delivers 11 built-in alarm sounds, and there are options to import users’ custom sounds and messages. Alarm Push notifications provide button arming and disarming in real time, via Dahua’s DMSS app.
Technological advances have enabled dual mode illumination on TiOC 2.0, which provides full colour illumination even at night. It will automatically switch from IR to white light when an object or person is detected, significantly improving the ability to identify suspects and increase the quality of video evidence. Once a
target leaves the scene, the camera reverts to IR illumination to minimise light pollution. TiOC 2.0 is powered by Optical Path Compensation technology and corrects the angle of light refraction, to produce brighter and clearer imagery.
Other highlights include VoiceCatcher technology featuring a dual-mic array, which delivers clear audio that can be picked up at a longer distance and can reduce noise. There is also the capability for one-touch arming/disarming of alarms. Through Dahua’s integrated AI, this enables more advanced and accurate targeting of people and vehicles, filtering out nuisance objects such as animals, leaves and car headlights.
Cameras in the TiOC 2.0 series come in 8MP, 5MP or 2MP versions and house a large aperture (F1.0) lens, providing 2.5 times the amount of light compared to a conventional 8MP camera on the market.
“TiOC is a true ‘three-in-one’ solution, delivering a standalone surveillance, perimeter protection and deterrence package,” said Michael Lawrence, Dahua UK & Ireland’s Marketing Director. “With its full colour performance and superb image quality, users no longer have to put up with poor, unusable images at night. Combined with smooth auto tracking, users can have powerful and intelligent surveillance capabilities – day and night.”

Camect AI – Accurate
The Camect Smart Camera Hub prevents false alarms by providing profoundly accurate, and private, video analytics at the edge. By using AI and deep machine learning the Camect platform is able to proactively identify specifi c objects amidst distance, darkness and bad weather
Bringing Camect into a monitoring station has been streamlined by a list of significant integrations including Netwatch, Sentinel, Immix, Nxgen, MCDi, Praxis, Bold, CHeKT, Patriot, DMP and more
For more information: camect.com/emea
The products, 24MP and 60MP, support the critical need for alert accuracy, and false alert elimination, for security dealers, central stations, command centers, commercial businesses, outdoor and unmanned stations as well as residential customers.
Getting Started
The Intel powered device is housed in a smallformat PC case of just 12.8cm square by 5.4cm deep overall. A removable 2cm deep base holds the 2.5” disk drive, which in the supplied model was a 1TB drive. The case has sockets for 12v power input, 2 x HDMI output, 2 x USB 2, 2 x USB 3, audio in/out jack, RJ45 network port and a micro SD card slot. A momentary On/Off button is used to start and close-down the software.
Operation
To operate, the only external connections necessary are the power input and the network port to an internet link. The online documentation recommends using Chrome and Safari as the supported browsers, but good results were also returned using Microsoft Edge. Audio outputs and IP horn speaker integration is now available supporting major brands.
Integration
Bringing Camect into a monitoring station has been streamlined by a list of significant integrations including Netwatch, Sentinel, Immix, Nxgen, MCDi, Praxis, Bold, CHeKT, Patriot, DMP and more. Monitoring
stations are able to immediately recognize the value in Camect to operations and customer satisfaction due to the instant decrease in alert noise and clarity of mission critical data.
Features
In addition to .05% false alarm rate in detecting everything from Person, Car, Pick-Up Truck, Bicycle, Delivery Truck by Company Logo (DHL, FedEx, Amazon etc), Dog, Cat, Bear, and more. Camect Pro detection now includes loitering, vehicle parking/arriving and more. Camect now offers iOS and Android apps for mobile access to real time proactive detection and playback with alerts searchable by date, time and keyword. Sensitive Mode enhances motion blur and low contrast scene detection. Long distance mode allows for detections that surpass leading enterprise class analytic solutions.
Performance
While the Camect system initially uses a number of online services, all recordings are stored on the device and this ensures all video is held on site at the edge, not in the cloud. Alert recordings and associated GIFs may be transmitted using messaging or email services. Beneath each image is a timeline that indicates activity and can be used to select specific playback times. Hovering over a green bell icon shows the number of alerts created and how many are new. When selected, indicators can be used to go back and forth between events. Cameras are shown in a matrix on screen and can be taken to full screen by double clicking. Individual cameras can be moved around the display by dragging and dropping into their preferred locations. Detection of activity begins very quickly with subjects being identified with on-screen notifications such as “Car” and “Bicycle, Person” in the case of a cyclist. Even in very low light conditions the system was capable of identifying people and vehicles in spite of low-light motion blur. With input from the user the system can be fine-tuned to improve performance or to be selective in alert generation.
Summary
If your business needs include saving money and time by eliminating false alerts, improving response time to critical alerts, growing your bottom line with RMR and elevating customer satisfaction then Camect is definitely worth testing.

Sensors capable of detecting gunshots and raising alarm
3xLogic’s Gunshot Detection devices use patented concussive wave technology to detect the moment at which a gun is fired, and the bullet leaves the chamber. Upon firing, the force of the bullet leaving the chamber creates a concussive wave within a defined frequency range. Although concussive waves in the air cannot be seen by the naked eye, the Gunshot Detection device is tuned to detect those waves from any calibre gun.
Gunshot Detection devices, single or multi sensor, easily and seamlessly integrate with other security systems. When a gun is fired in range of a sensor, the sensor will raise a contact closure to alert monitoring systems. 3xlogic.com
