Issue # First edition
Editor’s Note It has been about a year since I first started reaching out to artists to send me some of their work for the magazine. And when issue #4 comes out it will officially be a year since our first publication. It has been a lot of fun so far and I am glad to have met some new and interesting people. The support has been appreciated and we are excited to keep moving forward with Project Oh! We have several events planned and a lot of features to introduce on our website in the upcoming months. We received quite a few awesome submissions for this issue. So much that we have actually already started working out issue #4. For this issue we decided to focus a little more on some of the painting and illustration submissions. Our featured artists in illustration, painting and mixed media are Jorge Guillen, Carlos Fierros, Jessica Mceuen, and Bobby Holland. We are also featuring the photography of Photos By Amalu, the creatures of Lysa Ann, and some fashion by Kendall. We hope you enjoy this issue, and as usual, we want to let you know that we are always taking submissions. Let
us see what you are working on. Or, if you have some modest friends who you think should be featured, go ahead and send us a message to check them out. We find some artists are funny like that. For more information, check out projectoh.com/contributors or email us with any specific questions. Jeremy Gonzalez jeremy@projectoh.com FRONT COVER Our front cover is a painting by Jorge Guillen who is featured in this issue. The painting is entitled “Blue Demon” which is a depiction of a famous mexican wrestler of the same name known for his trademark blue mask. Other pieces printed in this issue include: “La 16 de Septiembre”, “1962”, “Que Viva Richard Chavez!”, “Bride of Huitzilopochtli”, “La Bamba”, and “Life’s a risk Carnal”. BACK COVER The back cover is a little taste of some of the work by Maylanie Mendez. Her illustration work is awesome and will
be featured more in the following issue. She also designed our ad for The Giving Tree Project. Keep an eye out for more of her work in future issues. SPECIAL THANKS We all volunteer our time to make this project happen and we are thankful for everyone who has contributed so far, even if it is just as simple as purchasing an issue. Our new subscription options are available via our website. Just visit projectoh.com/subscriptions for more information.

Kendall Kendall is a talented young personal fashion blogger located in Oildale, CA with a knack for style. We first met Kendall just under a year ago when we were introduced by photographer Nicholas DeJesùs Martinez. Nick and Kendall collaborated on a photo shoot for our Beta issue which was published back in July 2013. Kendall’s fashion blog, Galore Beneath the Stars, can currently be viewed on the
web at kendallca.blogspot.com. There you will find frequent posts featuring different looks with photos and a writeup explaining the inspiration as well as a detail of the items used to make up the outfit. Her styles are diverse, artistic, and bold making each post interesting and unique. In this issue, she shows us two new looks with a short description explaining her inspiration for each outfit.
First Look “In this outfit I wanted to portray romance and class, an outfit that could be found worn by a girl in the city. The romper’s long sleeves paired with a deep v-neck create a sexy and classy feel. The red of this romper is such a statement that I decided to keep the rest of my accessories in black. I added gold jewelry to keep the outfit warm and romantic.”

Second Look “In this outfit I wanted to serve an alternative pop star style, something that miley cyrus or Rhianna might wear. To give a rocker edge I had to throw on my white leather jacket. Plus, the studs on the jacket and bag look great together. In the detail of the outfit I kept to the theme of lines. The different forms of lines in the crop top, pants, and heels all mix happily together creating an awesome linear look!

Hi. Have you met the Grimmels? If not, allow me to introduce you. People, Grimmels. Grimmels, people. Now that the formalities are out of the way, let’s shine some light on these creatures of the darkness. The Grimmels are the creepy yet adorable creation of Lysa Ann, Owner of Sugar and Spite which has previously

offered other products including lotions, salts, scrubs, soaps and perfumes but is now focused primarily on creature making. These hand crafted dolls are skillfully constructed in different styles using a variety of patterns and materials. Their faces are even hand painted and fitted with gorgeous tufts of hair... and those eyes. The fabrics and colors are chosen for each
creature individually giving everyone its own unique personally. And guess what, they even have their own names! These guys are way too cool and we know you are probably wondering how you can get your hands on one of your own. The best way is to open your interwebs and head on over to sugarandspite.net , or
alternatively horriblyadorable. com, where you will find a link to the shop along with some other bits of news and information. These are in demand items so get them while you can. In the meantime, check out some of the photos from our recent visit and mini photo shoot of some Grimmels before they headed out to their new homes.
