Emma + Brent

Emma and Brent met through mutual friends whose persistency in trying to set the couple up eventually paid off and it was in June 2021 when – after suggesting a sunrise walk along the beach – Brent proposed in a perfect, relaxed moment. The couple both knew they wanted to waste no time from engagement to wedding day and with the pandemic still lingering they knew they'd need to be organised. With Emma's habit of making lists and Brent's Excel skills they were soon on their way to planning their special day. Wanting to choose a local venue in case of any disruptions from interstate travel, the couple decided to meet with the team at The Dunes in Ocean Grove and everything fell into place and their chosen date was available. Emma found the most stressful duty was choosing her dress as appointments needed to be rescheduled and she feared running out of time. After having dresses sent from Melbourne whilst the city remained under lockdown Emma eventually found a local boutique who helped her create a design she loved.

Marrying in a beachside setting made the decision easy for the men to wear linen suits – also locally supplied – and as Emma's dress – classic yet modern – had sleeves she was able to have them detachable for more freedom throughout the evening. The couple's cherished memories of the day are the initial reveal prior to the ceremony which allowed for a calm and intimate time – and sneaky photos with their pup – and the end of the festivities where they found time to relax and have fun. They also scheduled most of the photographs to be taken earlier so they could remain celebrating with family and friends – and hitting the dancefloor. They remind newly-engaged couples that ultimately it is your day and although you may at times wonder if everything has been done, don't lose track of what is important – it's your wedding and you want to enjoy it.
