Caitlyn + Mitch

Caitlyn and Mitch met as teenagers through mutual friends but lost touch for a few years. Where all good love stories begin, they reconnected at the Eureka Hotel in Geelong when Caitlyn was pouring beers for Mitch. After Mitch ‘conveniently’ misplaced his keys Caitlyn offered him a lift home – and the rest is history and they have been inseparable since. Towards the end of a four-week snow holiday at the NSW and Victorian alpine regions Mitch got down on both knees – still fastened into his snowboard – and proposed. Striking luck with the planning, each vendor they first spoke with became the one they booked. Being laidback people, they made the decision to allow the vendors free-range in style which contributed to the whole planning process being so easy. With their original choice of October 2021 as the wedding date severely reducing the number of guests that could attend and Covid-19 restrictions in doubt they arranged with most vendors to postpone the wedding to early February 2022.

85 guests enjoyed a classic and relaxed wedding at Lorne where the ring-bearer was Luca – the couple’s Bernese Mountain dog. The couple’s advice to newly engaged couples is to – within reason – trust your vendors. They are the experts and have seen what works and what doesn’t. It is also a nice surprise on the day to see what they have created for you. Also strive to have a few extra days before the wedding to relax and enjoy one of the best moments of your life as the day will be over in a flash.
