The rela/onship between human well-‐being and economic growth !  Two Stages Theory (Ronald Inglehart, 1997): "  “Economic Gains” stage: human well-‐being is sensi>ve to economic gains; "  “life style” stage: the economic gains contribute liile happiness. "  5000 US dollars (in the year of 1995) is a watershed. !  According to IMF data and at PPP and at 1995, the per capital GDP 2011 of China have reached 5207 US dollars.

!  At least, we can conclude that the east part of China has entered the “Life Style” stage with the considera>on of regional disparity.

人民对美好生活的向往, 就是我们的奋斗目标。 “Our people have an ardent love for life. They wish to have better education, more stable jobs, more income, greater social security, better medical and health care, improved housing conditions and a better environment. They want their children to have sound growth, have good jobs and lead a more enjoyable life. To meet their desire for a happy life is our mission”——Xi Jinping

“We are such stuff as dreams are made on”

― William Shakespeare
