the assistance of the Pingtung County Government, local characteristics were presented to the world through “Life of Pi” directed by Ang Lee and “Cape No. 7” directed by Te-Sheng Wei. The films explore the past and the present, ecology and humanity through the power of imagination. Productions such as “The Missing Place”, “Peace in Love”, “Din Tao” and “Wayward Kenting”, all tell stories and reveal the feelings of ordinary people on this land; their enlightenment and salvation. There are also many tourist and food programs introducing the fun and gourmet opportunities to audiences all over Taiwan, such as “Fun Taiwan All Star” and “Fun Taiwan”.

Lin Daofeng’s grandfather lost his life due to his fast talk when he was little. He then forced himself to take a 5-second pause before speaking. He traveled to Riguang Village and decided to solve his psychological problem by talking to strangers. He met the betel nut girl Shasha; a man who picks up almost everything along the seashore; Haichu, a female driver of an advertising car; and the public servant Stone. As he came to know them, the dialogues started. Gradually, he no longer suffered from the obsessive compulsive disorder. He realized that the missing part in everyone’s heart has to be made complete.

Situated in Shi-Zi Township, Ka-YouFong Falls, also known as Neishi Waterfall, was named “Acedas Waterfall” by the Hoklo people in Fangshan; in the Paiwan language, it is called “ZhuaLi-Diu ( 爪哩丟 ),” meaning “cliff.” It is the headstream of Ashiwen Stream and falls from the height of 40 meters, creating a spectacular view in the high flow season. The deposited silt of Gang Zih River and Jioupeng River at the river mouth was pushed back to Payao Bay due to the strong downslope wind; as a result, the rarely-seen landscapes, such as sand waves, sand valley, sand river, sand dunes, and sand wall are gradually formed. The covered area is around 200 hectares, which is the biggest and the most magnificent desert scene in Taiwan.
