RILEY JORDAN
Charging out of the Sunshine State, Riley Jordan is on the rise as one of the hot shots in BMX Racing. Showing off her speed and skill around the country during national weekends, The MadRabbit hones in her skills around her local scene of Jacksonville BMX. Racing locally and on the Sunshine State BMX State Series, Jordan is putting in the work to make a run at the Greatest Race On Earth. With a work ethic that has been paying off the last few years, Jordan looks to continue that work all the way into the heated 15-16 Tulsa main event.

For The Conclusion of the USA BMX Grands
The speed was unleashed throughout the night but the action got real when the field was dwindled down to the final 4 of Cade, Bucardo, Wood, and Adams
orsepower, race craft, and night show magic showed its head in San Diego as the San Diego BMX Holeshot Challenge lit up the BMX Community.
From the minds of Tyler Brown and Sam Willoughby, who hosted the original event back in 2018, Tyler Brown and the San Diego BMX crew brought back the event that looks to settle a constant debate. Who has
the fastest first straight in BMX?
From the West Coast and beyond, the best of the best charged their way to SoCal for a taste of the lime light. Taking 11 Amateur Guys and four Amateur Ladies, the USA BMX Live times were down to millisec onds.
From gate to the finish line, the double point pre-races were scat tered, with big names putting down
hot laps in search of the best times. For 15 experts, Sean Day and Thomas Maturano, their qualifying laps came down to the wire. Sitting on the bubble with one lap to go, the competitors towed each other around the track to lock in the six and eight spots on the time sheet.
Quarter and Semi Mains - Top four across the Holeshot line move on.
Main Event - Gate pick chosen at random by playing cards with out ermost and innermost gates being wiped from the deck to bring the final two racers together in gates four and five. Single rider elimination down to the last two for the Fastest First Straight monicker.
As the lights flipped on and the red lights began to shine on the USA BMX cameras, the crowd wasn’t
ready for the action about to go down. Right off the bat in quarter mains, the sto rylines got dicey as qualifier Brody Cole and rookie pro, Kyle Jensen, get stacked up in turn one open ing, the door for the ladies Daleny Vaughn and Derin Merten to find the top four qualifying spots.
In true night show fashion, the semimain events had all of San Diego BMX on their feet as back-to-back BMX action carved through turn one.
Series point leader Mclean to scrappy amateurs Peter Elizondo and Jacob Trujillo and even the top dog Corben Sharrah missing out on the round of four after getting an Ejecto Seato courtesy of the rookie, Nick Adams. Anthony Bucardo, Cam Wood, Ced ric Cade, and Nick Adams all locked their spots, but the real work just began. As the lone amateur, Ced ric Cade went out in a blaze of glory courtesy of a Shibby hip check. Lean ing on each other at the apex, the young gun finished his night at the bottom of the turn but left the track with some cash and a lot of respect from the top dogs.
Setting the tone for the type of racing about to go down, the entertainer, Ce dric Cade, puts on the best move of the night. Coming out of gate seven, Cade found himself in fourth going into turn one, but with a veteran cor ner one move, the Vegas local exited the turn in first ahead of Nick Adams, Josh Mclean, and Corben Sharrah for a spot in the elite eight. Following up a jaw-dropping move was the first “EJECTO SEATO” call from Grindle. Side by side, Cam Wood and Kam Larsen came up, and over the step up into turn one, and while Larsen looked to have the lead elbow, #CW12 went low, bringing the two fast lines together and putting one of the favorites of the night over the turn and onto the sidelines.
With everything on the line, all these racers had to do was not get last. But that’s no small task with the fastest racers lined up bar-to-bar down the first straight. One after another, we saw the field dwindle, from National
With only two gates left to drop, it was anyone’s holeshot. With all three racers putting down fast first straights, we noticed the low line was a favorite for Bucardo to sneak into the pack. Utilizing it in the final four laps, Bucardo came up clutch to join Sam Willoughby Jr. in the Main Event. It was a movie-like scenario, The Lo cal Hero vs. The Favorite. a battle for the ages that ended the night with a bang. Lined up in gates four and five (Bucardo in four, Wood in five), Wood
snapped down the hill, taking an early lead up and over the first double. With a wheel still in the game, Shibby looked to make his low line work again from the inside. Banging elbows and connecting up to the top of the turn, the favorite was able to hold on to the white line and cross the holeshot line as the Holeshot King.
Hey...it’s Freestyle BMX. No boundaries or limita tions. Show up, do your thing and enjoy. This is proof.
Jared Weidower is one smooth criminal. Between him, Dominick Secatello and Nathan Glade this Expert Championship is shaping up to be the best ever.

Milwaukee....what a historic town with plenty of places to ride, visit, sightsee and now....compete. Thanks to “The Jeffs” at 4Seasons S8 Park, Round #7 of the Hyper Bikes USA BMX Freestyle Series had a home. The locals were stoked we had planned a comp there and even managed to upgrade the course with their own time and money. Thankful doesn’t show our true appreciation.
Coming to this part of the country is something we had wanted since 2020. We knew it would be a good vibe and we weren’t wrong. I’m ram bling so let’s allow the captions to do their job. Looking forward to an awe some 2023.

he Maple Leaf Nation als saw 65 motos at the Milton BMX track just south of Toronto. The track crew had done an excellent job preparing for another great weekend of racing, and this weekend had several riders racking up NAG and CNAG points with na tional wins on Saturday and Sunday. Which state or province would come out on top? Let’s take a look at how it all went down…
In the Girls Cruiser ranks, Alex
Pasowicz made the most of her trip from SoCal by winning 10 & Under Girls Cruiser both days. Chloe Kap pen (Phoenixville, PA) would win both days in 17-20 and Stephanie Petrie (Blasdell, NY) would win 4145 and 36-40 Women Cruiser both days.
The Cruiser class saw Asher Hock (Johnstown, NY) win 9 Cruiser, Es pen Wilke (Oconomowoc, WI) win 11 Cruiser, Jacob Lange (Friend ship, WI) win 12 Cruiser, Andrew Colling (Stella, ON) win 16 Cruiser
and Mike Halle (Niagara Falls, ON) win 51-55 Cruiser with each rider winning both nationals.
The Novice class saw two different riders winning both days - Sawyer Jacques (Guelph, ON) winning 5 Novice and Lexi Hunt (Burlington, ON) winning 9 Novice. Mean while, the Intermediate ranks saw five different riders double up with wins at the nationals. Brody Simas (Oakville, ON) in 5 Inter, Spencer Self (Toronto, ON) in 8 Inter, Tobin Babcock (Amherst
view, ON) in 11 Inter, Max Hafner (Etobicoke, ON) in 13 Inter and Liam Christie (Thorold, ON) in 14 Inter.
Girls Expert saw Mahlia Alvarez (Bloomington, IL) in 9 Expert Girl, Alex Pasowicz (LaVerne, CA) in 10 & 11 Expert Girl, Samantha Walter (Cambridge, ON) had great battles with BC’s Vivienne Ooms coming out on top both days in 13 Expert Girl, Chloe Kappen (Phoenixville, PA) in 17-20 and Stephanie Petrie (Blasdell, NY) in 41 & Over Women Expert. The Expert class for the boys had eight different riders double up this weekend. Coye Weidner (Spring City, PA) would kick it off
in 8 Expert, followed by Asher Hock (Johnstown, NY) in 9 Expert. Marshall Warner would dominate 10 Expert and Espen Wilke (Ocono mowoc, WI) added class wins to his cruiser doubles. Brothers Gavin and Evan Menditto (Marlton, NJ) would win 13 Expert and 17-20, respectively. Evan Sinchak (Severn, MD) would best the 21-25 class and Richie Good (Northumberland, PA) would win the 46-50 Expert class.
The race of the weekend, however, would happen on Sunday in the 3640 Expert class when several riders went into the last turn rubbin’ and racin’ for position. A couple of riders would make contact with Robert Pettinelli, getting the worst of it, ending up in the dirt and opening the door for Greg Bidwell to best Alex Brancier and Craig Jacques. The added value of knowing what it takes to win gives Anderson a good edge on the competition come the main event and makes this year’s title chase that much more exciting as four of the top 15 are bound to battle in the 15-16x Girl class.

that rider count isn’t there, the title is up for grabs class after class. With heavy-hitting Alexis Alden and Camryn Searfoss sitting in the third and fourth spot in the series, the ac tion we see throughout the country will all be coming to a head in Tulsa in true Grands fashion.

With big scores grabbed at the “super events” and consistent training going into his craft, the Factory Full Tilt champ has a good shot at making the two-peat happen. While Polk and Day are two of the several favorites to win the Amateur title, the flat pedal youngsters are itching for their shot at a silver cup. Full Tilt teammates Wyatt Chris tensen and Eli Staton, joined by The OX, Knox Perkins, are all lining the points leader board to race for the title. While each of them has a stand-out 2022 season, the World Champ, Eli Staton, is hungry for an other No.1 added to his name.

it’s all about young gun domination
year. With the top five title contend ers only 17 points apart, the 9 cruis er class looks like the class to win for the 2022 Grands stage spotlight. While the nine-year-olds are battling each other for the win, All Tow Wrecking crew’s Marshall Warner is
on a mission to end his season with a 10 cruiser win and the cruiser title. Currently sitting three points behind Cody Young, Warner has shown consistency throughout the season, capturing multiple Top Gun jackets and an impressive 16 cruiser winin 2022. A mass amount of racing has brought confidence to Warner’s cor ner and added skill around the track that will be utilized through the long and trying Grand Nationals week end.
With a title chase only points away from switching hands, a win and only a win will be key to securing history and hoisting the silver cup in Tulsa.

Just 68 miles from the hustle and bustle of NYC, Trumbull, CT, ramped up the BMX action with the return of the New England Nationals. Not visiting the track since 2018, Chris Gombos and the Trumbull track crew showed up and showed out, bring ing the perfect stage for racers from across the country to battle for those sought-after national points.
From Friday practice to Sunday main
events, the action charging through Trumbull BMX showcased the leg endary roots the Northeast has in the sport of BMX. With those deep BMX roots, the weekend brought names heard throughout the region and across the US into race fans’ minds.
“The Firefox” Harper Vescuso took charge of both class and cruiser for the 10-year-olds throughout the weekend. Followed by Airborne’s
Wrigley Cooper in class and Time2Shine’s Hailey Smith in cruiser, the competition was fierce, but the Firefox remained persistent through Trum bull BMX.
In breakout performances, Milo Menchaca and Connor Beckley

battled with the rest of the 9x class all the way to the line. Making a late-season push, we doubt we have seen the last of Menchaca and Beck ley domination.
Looking at the moto sheet of 36-40x class, you would see familiar names that you have seen traveling the se ries. However, a dark horse peaked his head out of the class to keep the National racers on their toes. Ademir Silva Jr. charged his way out of New Jersey and into the forefront of the class skying Trumbull’s second straight and dominating the class in both Saturday and Sunday main events.
Racing on the track and manualing

through the streets of NYC, the USA BMX National crew was almost giddy to see our friend “Crazy” Al Cayne. While Cayne wasn’t on the track throwing style or bumping bars with the rest of the class, he was making content to showcase the action from the New England Nationals. With rider interviews, bike checks, and on-track footage, Sugar Cayne was out in force.
MOVES OF THE WEEKEND
While Keira Amaris began her national weekend with a crash in the first round on Saturday, she finished it off with a turn two move and elbow that landed her the second-place finish. Amaris ended the weekend with a bang, leaving the last straight fans
Chris Hobbie (27) stayed fast and low while charg ing into the 17-20x mains. Phoenix’s Dominic Pedotto (3) lays down the hot laps in 16x. The teammate battles got TOXIC with JD Lataille (GC3) and Bryce McCormick (26) in 9x.cheering and clapping for their fellow Northeast racer!
The KIDD was making moves and putting down the power in 12x. Following his competitor and friend, Kaiden Ireland, around the track on both Saturday and Sunday, Kidd laid on the last straight power to grab the win at the line in a tough 12x class.
Giving 110% in his search for 8 wins, Weston Meurlot was on the hunt in Trumbull, CT. Charging around the track in the lead on Saturday and Sunday, Cutter Williams and Evan Schaeffer joined Meurlot to the line for some second-place finishes. While those three boys laid down hot laps, we would be remiss if we didn’t shoutout Daylight Cycles’ Blake Powell for his insane turnone move. Going from last to third in one swoop, Powell put on a turn-one clinic, leaving the rest of the pack balled up in the turn. The last three months of the 17-20x points chase are heating up, and the racing is only going to get better from here.
The Cali kid, Reese Snover found herself leading the charge of 6x ladies.
Spidey (Dominick Coates) took a break from fighting crime to race bikes with the rest of the 51&over experts.
First straight power was heated even in practice with Kaleb McCain and Isaac Peddle showing the group how it’s done.
Bar-to-bar action was charging down the first straight all weekend long in the 41-45i class.
Jumping for the camera with Georgia’s Micheal Seabrook.
Podium pictures, family pits, and racers warming up, the “main drag” at Trumbull BMX was full BMX vibes.Knobby

Aberdeen, South Dakota is living proof that a BMX track doesn’t need to be in a highly populus region to thrive.
If you have an awesome track, a top-shelf racing program and great backing of a volunteer group and the local community - such as Aberdeen Hub Area BMX has, then success can be done in Anywhere, USA.
INTRO: Even though the Factory Answer team brought in a skelton crew, they had enough power and umph to score Factory wins both days. Kaiden Ireland representin’ out front.
TOP RIGHT: Zeronine’s Jacob Gonzales in 10x.
BOTTOM RIGHT: The battle royale in 8x was between Cruzzie ‘da Racer (BMX Sharks) and John Kerr (Answer).
ou can’t get lost at the Aberdeen airport. There’s only two gates and one baggage claim. Ya gotta love it. Our flight coming in was packed full of BMXers, including Louisiana legend Grady Stimits - aka “The Dirty Panda,” along with the golden voiced Greg Harrison, who’d be our national announcer for the weekend. We’d offered The Panda a ride to his hotel, which was clear on the other side of town (a whole ten minutes away). Grady had been here before, and was pointing out
all of the local Aberdeen attractions.
“There’s the bowlin’ alley ... looks busy tonight.” A little further down the road - “Ahhh, the Twist Cone! You’ve gotta hit the Twist Cone this weekend! That’s a happenin’ spot.” Indeed it was, as we’d run into a bunch of BMX families there after the races on Sunday.
Another local hot spot is the track itself. Ran by Kyle Oswald - since he was 18 years old, the track and facil ity are just incredible. It’s changed a lot since I was last there for the big $20k Pro/Am Challenge they
used to put on. Aberdeen’s track is so popular that the townsfolk just come out to watch the races on the tailgates of their trucks, as if it were a baseball game. Even the ol’ lady at the nearby gas station, who doesn’t have any kids who race, knew “what a difference that SoilTac surface made.”
For a town with the population 28k, we figured that this National brought in an extra 5% to the town’s popula tion for that weekend. After hearing comparisons to this being like the fake small town in the Movie RAD,
The Funky OneKamden Funk, flyin’ in 16x for Bikes for the Likes of Us.
Kyle Oswald was inspired enough to surprise everyone Sunday morning with a special “Hell Track 2” wrap on the starting gate.
Liberty, Liberty, Libbb-errr-teee! South Dakota’s very own District No.1, Preston Clark. He’s The Wheel Deal.
How cool is THAT?! Never before has a track swapped out their gate graphics overnight - until now.
Unfortunately, Kyle and his crew couldn’t control everything in Ab erdeen, and Friday’s pre-race got rained out. That meant it would be ran on Saturday before National No.1, which meant it’d be a fullbore, non-stop day of BMX racing - and the action heated things up quickly. The Answer team brought in just enough riders to turn in a team sheet, and their skeleton crew racked up plenty of consistent firsts and seconds - from Kaleb McCain in 14x, to 8x John Kerr, 12x Kaiden Ireland and 13x Daniel Waters.
In the 15x ranks, it was all Alpha’s Thomas Maturano’s race to win or lose. He had some comp coming from “Cash Money” Hopson and Bryce Blumer, but it wasn’t enough to stop him from total annihilation. Thee class to watch this weekend was, by far, 16x. Making his nolonger-on-Redman debut was Ron nie Kim. All decked out in Fly gear aboard a StayStrong frame, minus the W#1 plate he’s been running for the past three years, The Silent Assassin came to South Dakota with winning atop of his to-do list.
In between running things, Aberdeen TO Kyle Oswald even got in some Mic-time.
And that’s just what he did - despite some tough competition coming from Phyre’s Nathaniel Loy, Profile’s Drake Velador and Peak-10’s Cashton Benge. It seems like those three guys have really stepped up their game this year, making the 16x class one of the most exciting races to watch. ...a lot like 17-20x, in which The Birdman, Brandon Crain dominated in usual fashion.
Cruiser-wise, the two largest classes were the nine and 14 year old class es, with 13 and 14 riders each. In 9cru, Bassett’s Chase Harp made his presence known, scoring wins both days. Then, in 14cru, it was Blackcrown’s Ian Westerman taking both wins, despite some heavy pressure coming from McCain, Gage Hill and Powerlite’s “Cheddar Bob” Westover. These dudes were cookin’!
When it was time for the Girl’s Club, 10 showed up for the 11, 14 and 1516 girls classes. Crank Lab’s Kendall Ehlen did the impossible - beating Chase Burian and Isabella Stevens both days. In 14girls, it was Black Widow’s Taya Boecker taking the wins, just as radical Rita Fedwa did in 15-16.
Once again, Aberdeen blew us away and we can’t wait to return someday.
It takes two hours for Full Tilt’s Race Lee to build a wheelset, but he can win 21-25x in less than 30 seconds. Nathaniel Loy, on Phyre. Watchout for The Hitman. 13x winner and 0-9’er Kenadie Neelan. Colorado’s Kaleb McCain; The Sloppy Nacho. Meet Mike Redman’s grandkids.EVOLVE

abor Day weekend and Derby City BMX go hand in hand throughout the BMX community, taking the battles and prowess of win ning at the Derby to another level. For some, the weekend is just a three-day weekend at the end of summer; for the amateurs and Pro ranks across the USA BMX series, it’s a three-day work week charg ing around the World Famous Derby City BMX.
The hype was boiling over leading up to race day. Pro BMX racers from across the world flocked to Louisville, bringing Olympians, World Champs, young bucks, and hardened veterans out of their training programs and into the race day environment. Charging into every lap they could get their tires on, last names like Andre, Willoughby, Upshaw, Daudet, Kim mann, Stancil, and Nobles were the talk of the town during the local practice nights ahead of the weekend.
That hype didn’t disappoint as the Pro class got straight to it, battling bar to bar down the straightaways at Derby City BMX. The 9x USA BMX Champ, Alise Willoughby, and her Australian training partner, Lauren Reynolds, came out swing ing through motos and joined each other on the podium all three days. Current National No.1 Women Pro and 2022 World Champion, Felicia Stancil, charged between the So Cal ladies for the second-place spot throughout the weekend’s
words & photos Justin Wahlmain events.
Like the Women’s class, the Men’s Pro ranks finished each day with the same faces but in a differ ent order and with a lot of action. The eagerly awaited return of the Chase Bicycles Champ, Joris Daudet, came with high expecta tions. Without missing a beat, he went into the weekend hot along side his fellow Euro dominators, Sylvain Andre, and Niek Kimmann.
Charging his way to another top spot for the season, Daudet kept his riding dialed as always, while battling with the 313 and W5 bikes of Kimmann and Andre. While Daudet and Kimmann switched steps from Friday to Saturday, Mr. Consistant, Sylvain Andre, kept his Commencal ride firmly planted on the middle step of the podium. While the podium racers were shining in the camera flashes of the media crew, others in our
men’s Pro class were shining in their own right. On their pro series return, Alfredo Campo, Anderson Souza, and Izaac Kennedy came out with some serious speed into the Derby City first turn and out of motos. With Izaac locking in fourth place on both Friday and Saturday, the SpeedCo/Avian and LUXBMX ride put on a class-stopping perfor mance on Sunday to round out his weekend with a win.
The big hill racing was actionpacked, and the old(ish) dogs were out for war in Louisville. With points leader, Barry Nobles, charging through the series as the Vet points blocker, the other front runners in the class were looking to bypass the Alabama Slamma to get some points. Who was able to grab the elusive win in Vet Pro? None other than Jeff Upshaw. Using his Driven ways, Big Jeff seized the opportunity in
Mr. Podium, Sylvain Andre powers to the early lead in the early rounds of Men Pro with Nick Adams, Cam Moore, and Mathis Ragot Richard looking for the inside advantage.
Friday’s main event as the class found some carnage in turn two. Bobbing and weaving through the chaos, Nobles could power back to the two spots ahead of Rockford BMX’s Dustin Jacobs. Rounding out the Vet Pro racing back on top, Nobles towed in Remix BMX’s Alan Hudson and Bombshell’s Emilio Falla.
Big Scores were up for grabs in the Pro classes, but that was also
true through the amateur ranks at Derby City BMX. While the Louisville race always pulls a big moto count, the classes were stacked with the best of the best every lap. On the lady’s side, the flat pedal rippers of 12x girls were off to battle with a 17-rider group at the beginning of the day. As the lights switched on and the night race ambiance began to set in, Factory BABS racer Guadalupe Palacios did what she often does, WIN.
Also taking home big Friday night scores were the dominant duo of Ava Corley and Jacy Moore. With 29 riders in 15-16 & 25 riders in 17-20, the two had to keep the fast laps rolling to capitalize on the big rider count.
Breakout rider count also comes with stories of breakout weekends. For one 12x, that was precisely the case. Simon Duran came charg ing out of Bogota and into the lead
spot for the Powerlite DFR crew, picking up Friday’s 46 rider score, with Kaiden Ireland following close behind. Joining his Factory Pow erlite DFR teammate, 14x Samuel Marulanda put the Colombian flag to the front of the pack, once again in front of a stacked 38-rider class.
Racer after racer found their groove around the fast and fun Derby City track. And with so many heated battles throughout the three
days of racing, we here at PULL Magazine will no doubt be looking back to the 2022 Derby City Na tionals to remind us of the big wins helping title contenders clinch their silver cups.
Sporting the new new from Fly Racing, Barry Nobles shows off the style capabilities of his Chase ACT 1.2.

The fourth round of BC races in the BMX Can ada National Series brings us to the picturesque City of Squamish, nestled at the foot of the infamous Stawamus Chief, giving the track the scenic backdrop of the iconic granitic dome. Needless to say, each time Squamish BMX hosts an event here, we are awe inspired by nature’s wonders.
The crew at Squamish BMX worked their magic with a track update just weeks before the big race. While they couldn’t control the gusts of wind or Sunday’s sprinkle, they did manage to get the track dialed, and the decision maker third straight was hit by all aged riders, even the younger novice racers, because why not! BMX is fun, and they sure had a blast. The tailwind for first and third straight sure did make it a bit easier for those that wanted to send the fun line.
Sadly, there were no Pro riders in atten dance. Holden Dipi azza came to play, but it seems the rest of the pro squad took the Labor Day long weekend to rest, or enjoy a vaca
tion
to end off the summer season. I’m certain they will be back at it in Chilliwack next month. The diehard racers that did come to bring home some national points, however, did not disappoint. Bring ing in talent from BC, AB, WA, OR, and even some racers from CA, TX and CO to spice things up, was great to be hosts to those traveling racers to see how our local talent stacks up.
From the get go things did get quite dicey. Round one on Satur day’s race of the 13x girls class, it was a pileup in the first corner which sent Vivienne ‘don’t stop be lievin’ Ooms over the berm in a spectacular
crash. The Victoria BMX rider did suf fer some scrapes and bruises but she’s BMX tough! That class however was one of the most excit ing to watch as Zoe Dannen berg from Factory Alpha had her hands full battling Tiffany Brosius of Factory Motofill from Victoria.
Dannenberg would go on to take the win both days giving Al pha a boost on their team sheets.
Speaking of the young ladies, two more Alpha riders also took double wins for the weekend. Al lie Mclean, who aged up over the weekend, took 10x girls on Sat, and then 11x girls on Sunday. Keep an eye
on this girl as she’s just getting fast er and stronger! Piper Graaten, a previous National #1 rider, who was injured most of the season since her crash in Chilliwack, also took wins both days for 12x girls. A great result for not having raced much throughout the summer whilst she healed from injury. Alpha’s Kameron Drombolis and Rift/Tangent’s Dallen Brereton-Stiles are local fast young guns that race each other regularly. Often splitting wins with Drombolis’ Alpha teammate, Nikolai Martinez, in the mix as well. A bit of corner one carnage on Saturday’s race left the front runners Dallen and Kam eron unscathed and it would be Al pha taking the win. Sunday was a different day, as Dallen proved he had some serious first straight pull. Coming out of lane 8, the Rift/Tan gent rider had the perfect snap and it all tied in perfectly. Drombolis be ing a very strong rider just couldn’t
quite get in front going into the first corner and from then on it was all Brereton-Stiles navigating the misty track to take Sunday’s win, a big one for the Rift team. Dallens younger brother Connor also picked up double wins, send ing the pro line on Saturday but deciding to keep it safe and ride the regular line in the unfavourable con ditions on Sunday. On to the old(er) guys, one notable move up was for Steve Woodward who scored his fi nal National win needed to race with the big boys in the expert class. The Odd vs Even rider from Langley, BC I’ve had the pleasure to gate up with and was stoked to see him advance to the expert class. That mixed up Sundays motos a bit as there were quite a few inter/expert combined classes throughout the weekend. But Woodward held his own and will be exciting to see how he does at Grands as an expert class racer.
Team Alpha with their current roster is dominating the team sheet se ries as we head into the final race in Chilliwack. But it’s always anyones game going into the final races with

Resse Halle’s elbow gets up close and personal with Chip N Dale’s Dylan Maghan. The Greater Toronto National was the last stop of the Canadian National series this year and was held at Stouffville BMX. Nestled in Bruces Mill Conservation Park, Stouffville BMX is a beautifully cared for limestone dust track situated in a very family friendly green space. The area offered other activities like treetop trekking, golf, and hiking for riders and their families once the main events were done for the day. Australian transplant turned local resident, TO Brendan Arnold and his staff of amazing volunteers, pulled out all the stops for a very well orga nized and staffed national complete with amazing concessions and a track that you could tell they took great pride in.
A competing weekend race sched ule hosting a UCI event and a BMX Canada National gave a quieter at tendance of local Canadian riders to the moto sheets, but that didn’t dissuade American riders from all over the US from making the trip north. For Americans in attendance the stone dust surface may have seemed a bit unfamiliar, but is a sta ple to the Canadian race scene because of its durability. Those fearing it could be loose were quickly put at ease as the laps that were put down

by riders of all ages were fast!
With an average lap time for the ex pert riders in 25-30 seconds range, Stouffville has done an outstanding job with their obstacle set up and includes a pro line of jumps coming off the first turn.
A fast, flat gate with a short first straight containing three well spaced obstacles meant you needed to have some luck with gate assign ments, or a whole lot of hustle in the mains to get the hole shot out. For those with the skill and horsepower, the pro line proved to be the way to go in the second straight, even for younger riders, making quick work of showing off their jumping abilities on the pro line during practice and even during race laps.
A wider entrance into the second turn because of the merging lines allowed for racers to make some in credible passes and cost several, of all ages, their lead and momentum in the motos as well as mains. With

a third straight of rollers, those with the upper body strength to pump hard were led into a flat and wide fi nal turn where riders barreled down the last straight side by side leading to multiple finishes needing video review. Winners in the mains for the novice and intermediate classes were dominated both days by the Canadian locals, however, when it came time for the expert boys and girls classes through 17-20 the Americans were on top of the po dium consistently.

Dear Gabi, YIKES!
It has been a crazy ride and everyone is excited. Both the state and gold cup series are winding down and the Membership Department is gearing up for the final stretch of the season. Here are a few frequently asked questions to get ready for the closing of the season:
How do you qualify for an invitation to ROC?
The top 10 riders in each age and skill level from each State /
Provincial Championship series will be eligible to race the ROC. The top 10 Novices, Intermediates, Experts, GIRLS, CRUISERs and Girl CRUISERs of each age class.
When I look at my points it says SIG MISSING
That means we have not received the signed waiver for your renewal. You can digitally sign the waiver, just go to the website and login to your online profile. There click on Riders and then on Submit Digital Signature. Follow the prompts and submit!
How do I know if all my races have been credited to me? – Easy!! Go to the website and login to your online profile. There on your dashboard, click on Rider Info and then on Race History!
