Enhancing local extreme temperature preparedness will keep people safer

Building on ongoing work with local communities to prepare for extreme temperatures, new funding will help assess and plan for the risks of extreme heat and cold that B.C. has been experiencing due to climate change.

“In addition to colder winters, people across the province are feeling the impacts of hotter summers and heat waves. Extreme weather caused by climate change puts vulnerable people at risk and we need to ensure that communities have plans in place to keep people safe,” said Bowinn Ma, Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness. “This funding will help support communities in developing the tools and knowledge they need to better protect people during these extreme weather events.”

More than $430,000 is being provided through the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund (CEPF) to communities to improve knowledge of the risks associated with extreme temperatures and how these risks will change over time. The funding may be used to develop effective response plans and strategies to prepare, mitigate and adapt to those risks.

focused on the community’s most vulnerable populations;

mapping risks associated with future changes in temperature, assessing vulnerabilities to climate hazards, identifying impacts on vulnerable populations and engaging with local Indigenous groups in Maple Ridge; creating a map that will be regularly updated with locations where services support vulnerable people during extreme temperatures in Kelowna; and

conducting an extreme-temperature risk assessment to identify the social, economic and environmental impacts of extreme temperature events in Klemtu and developing an extremetemperature response plan.

In September 2022, the Province provided nearly $1.9 million to 36 First Nations and local governments for extreme-heat projects and strategies. This year, the stream was expanded to include extreme cold, in addition to extreme heat.

In February 2023, the Province provided $180 million to CEPF, bringing the total provincial investment in the

This funding will support planning work and is part of government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen readiness of communities throughout the province.

Projects have been funded throughout B.C., and include:

developing an Extreme Temperature Response Plan in Port Moody

program to $369 million since its establishment in 2017. More than $164 million has been provided to First Nations and local governments through CEPF for nearly 1,600 projects that help communities mitigate and prepare for disasters and climate-related emergencies. The CEPF is administered by the Union of BC Municipalities on behalf of the Province.

Province protecting seniors through education, awareness

Seniors in B.C. will be better protected against abuse as the Province continues to work with partners to further raise awareness and coordinated community responses to prevent abuse and neglect.

This work is being done with the partnership of the BC Association of Community Response Networks (BC CRN) and the Council to Reduce Elder Abuse (CREA).

“Seniors are vital to our society and it’s important that we treat them with the care and respect they deserve,” said Adrian Dix, Minister of Health. “Seniors often face isolation, which makes them more vulnerable to abuse. That’s why helping people recognize the signs of elder abuse and prevent the distress it causes our seniors across the province is a top priority for our government, and we are looking forward to continuing to partner with the BC CRN and CREA on this important work.”

The BC CRN has received a grant of $4.2 million in provincial funding to support Community Response

Networks (CRNs) throughout the province for the next three years. Eighty-six CRNs in more than 256 communities in B.C. bring seniors and community representatives together to create a co-ordinated community response to abuse, neglect and self-neglect of vulnerable adults, as well as spread awareness of elder abuse through local learning events, newsletters, informational workshops, projects, conferences, a robust website and referrals.

“Responding to elder abuse begins with preventing it,” said Harwinder Sandhu, Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors’ Services and Long-Term Care. “It’s our responsibility to ensure seniors are protected now and in the future. Our partnership with the BC CRN will support awareness programs so that people in B.C. can better identify the signs of abuse and neglect, and prevent it altogether, to ensure seniors’ safety.”

In addition, CREA has received $300,000 to foster collaboration and co-ordination to advance the prevention of elder abuse, such as recogni-

tion, prevention and response, by sharing information, raising public awareness and supporting professional development and capacitybuilding throughout B.C.

“We know that the most effective way to make positive change happen in community is to bring the community leaders, service providers and volunteers together, and have them identify the issues and come up with their own unique solutions,” said Sherry Baker, executive director, BC CRN.

“With the funding support from the Province, BC CRN mentors support the development of a co-ordinated community response to the abuse, neglect and self-neglect of their most vulnerable citizens. The ultimate goal is to build safe communities together where adults are valued, respected and free from abuse and neglect.”

Since 2017, the Ministry of Health has invested more than $10.7 million in the BC CRN and CREA.

Past community projects organized by local CRNs include World Elder Abuse Awareness Day events

throughout the province. These events include a gathering in Burnaby’s Central Park for the Lower Mainland Chinese community hosted by the Chinese CRN, a new advance care planning tool for 2SLGBTQIA+ seniors developed by the LOVE LGBTQ2S CRN in Vancouver, and Intergenerational Day events and presentations for seniors in Gitxsan, Wet’suwet’en and Hazelton communities, organized by the Wii O’ o’ m Niin CRN.

By supporting community response at a local level, CRNs facilitate and support responsive prevention activities based on the input from the individual communities they serve, while also ensuring provincewide learning events, newsletters, materials and collaboration.

During the past five years, government has invested approximately $2 billion to expand and improve quality care for seniors in B.C., including investments in primary care, home health, long-term care and assisted living.

B.C., Canada help farmers with climate adaptation, drought

B.C. farmers and ranchers can better prepare for and mitigate impacts of climate change, while continuing to support the province’s food security and a sustainable environment through funding from the governments of Canada and British Columbia.

Funding is available via the Beneficial Management Practices (BMP) program.

“The Government of Canada is committed to helping our agricultural producers mitigate the impacts of climate change,” said Lawrence MacAulay, federal Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food. “This investment will offer B.C. farmers the support they need to adapt their operations to be more resilient to the impacts of climate change, while protecting food security and the environment for future generations.”

The BMP program is open for its first round of applications. There is $4 million available to help producers throughout the province become more resilient and contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment with projects that improve: waste management; air-quality control; emissions control; soil and riparian integrity; water quality; and environmental impacts.

“B.C. farmers are on the front line of climate change and we are continuing to support them as they work hard to continue feeding the province, even as they face climate-related challenges, such as drought and wildfires,” said Pam Alexis, B.C.’s Minister of Agriculture and Food. “That is why we are investing in programs like this, which take a proactive forward-looking approach so producers can prepare for future climate impacts and take actions to mitigate them. Both the BMP program and our recently launched Agricultural Water Infra-

structure program support projects to improve water management and water supply for crops and livestock, resulting in more agricultural production and strengthened food security.”

A change to the program, which has run for more than 15 years, is the elimination of a previous lifetime cap on funding. This means that all producers, including previous program participants, are eligible for funding for the upcoming year. Eligible applicants must have a complete environmental farm plan, which helps producers identify environmental strengths and potential risks on their farms and ranches.

With large parts of the province being hit by drought conditions early in the season, farmers and ranchers can apply for BMP projects that pertain to water storage, such as building dugouts and roof rainwater-harvesting systems, as well as water conservation, such as improved irrigationsystem management and irrigation scheduling.

“IAF is committed to delivering this vital program to B.C.’s agriculture producers,” said Jack DeWit, chair, Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC (IAF) board of directors. “Our team is confident we can effectively support farmers and ranchers across the province as they implement proactive management practices to benefit their operations and the environment.”

The $4 million is from the Province’s CleanBC initiative and the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP). Sustainable CAP is a five-year (2023-28), $3.5-billion investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments to strengthen competitiveness, innovation and resiliency of the agriculture, agri‐food and agri‐based products sector.

The BMP program is being delivered by the Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC. To apply, visit: https:// iafbc.ca/beneficial-managementpractices/

2023 Infiniti QX80 AWD: A distinctive, powerful Premium SUV

The 2023 QX80 invokes Infiniti’s “Powerful Elegance” design language in a bold new direction, creating a powerful, contemporary, and commanding aesthetic.” Well, that’s the tag line, the 2023 QX80 is a full size, V8 powered luxury SUV that has available seating for seven, 3,800 kg of towing capacity, and every conceivable luxury you can imagine. It’s a looker too, with its huge, handsome square jawed, commanding presence. For 2023, there are no significant changes. It gets standard wireless charging pad, frameless rear-view mirror and upgraded lower bumper trim. The QX80 is available as a seven-passenger model in Luxe and ProActive trims, or as an eightpassenger in ProActive trim. All models are offered exclusively with fourwheel drive — All-Mode 4WD with a computer-controlled transfer case and three settings (Auto, 4H and 4L). Like the Pathfinder which it is based on, the Infiniti QX60 is powered by a 3.5L V8 hooked to a nine-speed automatic. With a thrilling 400 horsepower on tap and standard AWD you get the thrilling acceleration and torque V8S have in abundance.

The 2023 Infiniti QX60 comes in four trim levels, starting with the Pure AWD at $56,895, and ending with the $69,995 Autograph that gets upgraded quilted leather, massage, HUD, second-row captain’s chairs, 20-inch wheels and 17-speaker Bose sound system. AppleCarplay, Android Auto and Alexa are built in. There is also ambient lighting, navigation, driver attention and

We tested the Pure seven-passenger QX80 with the Technology package, 22-inch wheels, hydraulic body motion control system, lane departure warning system, blind spot monitoring, forward collision monitoring, intelligent cruise control, distance control assist, back up collision intervention, adaptive lighting, advanced climate control, front and rear sonar sensors, active trace control and much more. A motion-controlled tailgate is available on upper trims, and the QX60 will tow up to 6,000 lbs.

The inside of the QX80 is sumptuous and welcoming. The leather upholstery features a very upscale quilting on the seating surfaces. Other luxury touches include raised stitching throughout the cabin and shiny high-gloss dark wood

trim around the steering wheel, dash and door panels, centre stack and lower console, it’s quite well done, I think and sets off the metal accent trim very well. The dash features a 12.3-inch touchscreen for infotainment and a 7-inch display for infotainment needs and 9-speaker audio system

High-quality materials abound and everything looks very well fitted together. The front seats are wonderfully plush, and we just love the big armrest and sheer amount of space to stretch out. The rear seats are also supremely comfortable. There are dual rear headrest DVD displays that come with the Theater package and the availability of larger 8.0-inch screens with highresolution capability. So, no worries about keeping passengers entertained on long road trips! Accessing the third row is uncomplicated thanks to the ingenious second-row seats that tumble forward via either a button in the center stack or a lever pull on the seat. The third row offers decent enough space for a pair of adults on short journeys or for a couple of teens or kids on longer trips. Note that safety is high, and our tester came with active safety features such as: forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning and intervention, lane departure warning and lane keeping, adaptive cruise control with a full speed range, reverse auto braking, and Distance Control Assist that maintains a safe distance from the car in front.

On the road, the QX80’s old school 5.6-liter V-8 engine has lots of grunt, although extra sound deadening means there is more of a polite woof than a snarling growl when you give it some gas. It’s a docile, smooth, power- plant teamed with the seven-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control, and manual shift mode with Downshift Rev Matching. The classexclusive hydraulic body-motioncontrol system, aids in the handling department by automatically adjusting the suspension to significantly mitigate body roll in corners. It is much needed as the top heavy QX80 feels more stable and controlled in turns. The steering is amazingly light for such a large vehicle and parking the QX80 is not a daunting task thanks to the as standard 360-degree camera system with multi camera views capability and other aids.

Of course, the V8 powered QX80 will punch your wallet at the gas station with fuel economy not great at 17.5 L/100km city, and 12.2 highway and 15.1 l/100km combined. I have a bit of a soft spot for the QX80, it’s luxurious, super roomy, and just feels great to drive and it stacks up verry well in terms of value when looking at European rivals such as t Acura, Audi, Lincoln, and Volvo. The ultimate family cruiser. Highly recommended.

2023 Infiniti QX80 MRSP from MSRP $79,998 to $87,998

All aboard! New Bus Arrives at Cottage Worthington & The Residence in Mission

The bus, run by Cottage Worthington-Pavilion & The Residence in Mission (TRIM), is now fully functioning and ready to help residents-in-care move forward. The drive for the bus began a few years ago and as resident-in-care, Anne Jansen, who was fighting for the bus for many years described, “it’s a lot quieter than the old one, it’s beautiful to see Abbotsford again”

There was a demand for other medical equipment, but fortunately thanks to some particularly inspiring individuals we started to make progress on a much needed bus for residents in care.

Foremost amongst those who have proved what can be done is without doubt the family members with loved ones that stayed at Cottage Worthington or TRIM. The Auxiliary at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) and Mission Health Care Auxiliary Society jointly funded a large part of the project. Janet Hutchinson from the Auxiliary, ARH, described how, “for too many years they had no access to such a thing and now the opportunities are finally here”.

There have been many well-known studies that have found older adults with better access to mobility are more physically active and less socially isolated than counterparts without transport access. This is an experience, Ken Case, is familiar with as his wife Carol “likes going all over the city, it’s a beautiful bus, and I’m just excited it’s a Ford”

And now residents can happily move forward building close friendships with each other through visits to icecream parlours, parks, and drives to see cityscapes they were once familiar with. All proactive steps to increase social connectivity and combat social isolation, as Jocelyn Ratzlaff, social

Abbotsford Angels Red Triumph in 13U A Provincial East Tournament: Bringing Home the Gold Banner

The Abbotsford Minor Baseball Association proudly celebrates the remarkable victory of their 13U A Abby Red team in the 13U A Provincial East Tournament, which took place in Mission from August 10 to 13. The young athletes exhibited extraordinary talent and determination, culminating in a sensational win

worker, at TRIM describes, “the bus helps bring our residents out to see the community and normalises their life. And makes community aware of those who live in long term care”. John Varley, respiratory therapist, Mission Memorial Hospital further describes, the bus as a chance to remember the past and present: “it’s an awesome opportunity to experience new things, and create new stories, as well as reminisce about the past”.

Mobility is critical for older adults to maintain independence, dignity, and engage in social and community life, and addressing mobility challenges is something we need to continue to work on to ensure we can create positive health outcomes in our long-term facilities.

Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation values wellbeing and are happy to know that they can improve the quality of life for those living within Fraser Health facilities in both Mission and Abbotsford.

against the North Delta Rays in the finals, securing the coveted provincial championship banner.

After a challenging journey through the tournament, Abby Red secured the second position in their preliminary pool. The team demonstrated their prowess by overcoming their fellow Abbotsford counterparts, the Abby Black team, with a convincing score of 10-0 in the playoff semifinal. This hard-fought victory propelled Abby Red into the championship showdown.

In the thrilling final match against the North Delta Rays, Abby Red showcased a winning formula of stellar pitching, solid defense, and impressive batting. The team’s cohesive effort and exceptional skills led to an outstanding 12-3 victory, clinching the championship banner on August 13.

Dan Pass, the head coach of Abby Red, expressed immense pride in his

team’s performance throughout the tournament. He praised the players for their dedication and teamwork, highlighting their exceptional growth as a cohesive unit. Assistant coaches Tim Folster, Mike Ivany, and Rob Brandsma echoed Pass’s sentiments, emphasizing the players’ dedication and hard work leading up to the tournament.

The victorious roster includes Anderson Kams, Ashton Gill, Avraan Brar, Carson Dyck, Carter Ivany, Dex Brandsma, Jaxon Ivany, Kevin Luo, Kian Folster, Knox Pass, Logan Giesbrecht, Otto Toews, and Tristan MacLean. These young athletes have not only secured a remarkable victory but have also exemplified the values of sportsmanship and dedication.

The Abbotsford Minor Baseball Association commends the outstanding performance of the 13U A Abby Red team and congratulates them on their well-deserved provincial championship. The victory stands as a testament to the team’s skill, hard work, and unwavering determination, reflecting the essence of youth sports. As the championship banner finds its place in Abbotsford, the entire community joins in celebrating the team’s achievement and looks forward to their continued success in the world of baseball.

Call for Volunteers at the Crime Prevention Office

Community-minded volunteers with a passion for making a difference are currently being recruited by the Crime Prevention Office.

Located in the heart of First Avenue, the Crime Prevention Office is fueled by dedicated volunteers who deliver important community safety programs to the benefit of Mission. Programs include everything from speed watch to beat patrol to attending community events.

“Council hears frequently from members of the community about treating safety as our number one priority,” said Mayor Paul Horn. “That means investing in policing and technology, but there will never be a replacement for neighbours watching out for one another. Our Crime Prevention Volunteers are second to none and we value them deeply. Connecting with our CPO is an opportunity for community-minded people to make friends and make a difference.”

Volunteers at Mission’s Crime Prevention Office come from a variety of backgrounds with a range of skill sets. Residents who want to help but aren’t sure how their skills fit are encouraged to apply.

“Great things happen when likeminded individuals take out their valuable time to selflessly give back to the community with a collective aim to prevent crime and promote community safety,” said Rimmi Purewal, Crime Prevention Coordinator.

The volunteer commitment is 4 hours a week for a period of at least 1 year. All prospective volunteers will be asked to go through a RCMP Security Clearance as well as additional training.

For more information about volunteering, please contact the Crime Prevention Coordinator at 604-8202722 or send an email to info@missioncpo.ca.

1 - 3 tbsp (15 - 45 ml) maple syrup, depending on how sweet you want your jam

2 tbsp (40 g) chia seeds

Directions:

Rinse your strawberries, pat them dry and remove stems.

Place chopped strawberries into a small pot with water and simmer for 25-30 minutes until the fruit starts to break down and look syrupy. Stir frequently to make sure it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot.

Remove from heat. Using a potato masher, mash strawberries into smaller pieces until the mixture is as smooth (or lumpy) as you’d like.

Stir in lemon juice, maple syrup and chia seeds. Try starting with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and tasting be-

fore adding more.

Optional:

If you want to get rid of visible chia seeds and strawberry lumps, blend the mixture before placing into jars for storage.

Allow the mixture to thicken for at least 10 minutes before transferring into jars. The jam will continue to thicken as it cools.

Recipe note: There are no added preservatives in this recipe. If you do a full hot-water bath canning process, the jam is safe to store at room temperature. If you choose to skip the canning process, store the jam in the fridge and use it for two to three weeks. You can also freeze the jam for several months and thaw it in the fridge before using it.

BC Children’s Hospital celebrates over 5,000 interactions between patients, families and their furriest volunteers

BC Children’s Hospital is celebrating a pawsome milestone of furry interactions between their therapy pets and patients and families accessing care. Data released today marks over 5,000 interactions from April 2022 to March 2023 between patients and the Pet Therapy Program, presented by PetSmart Charities of Canada through funding to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, with over 1,000 volunteer hours recorded during this same period.

The program aims to reduce the stress and anxiety many patients and families experience while accessing care at both hospitals. Based on overwhelmingly positive feedback from patients and families, the Patient Experience team made the decision to expand the initiative in 2021 to include monthly Pets Assisting the Wellness of Staff (PAWS) events for hospital staff.

“When you visit the hospitals, you regularly hear the patter of furry feet along the corridors and in patient bedrooms as our dedicated volunteers and their four-legged friends interact with patients, families and our staff. While this program was temporarily disrupted at the start of the pandemic, it has rebounded with a renewed energy and has evolved into an integral part of our hospital experience and culture”, said Mary MacKillop, Director, Patient Experience with BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre.

Since the Pet Therapy Program, presented by PetSmart Charities of Canada, was first launched in 2007, it has expanded to include 32 dogs, a cat and a rabbit, who undergo an assessment, along with their human companions, to determine their suitability to provide support in a busy acute care environment. The Patient Experience team also hosts pop-up events including their first miniature pony visit and Pet a Puppy session, all aimed at supporting the emotional and psychological needs of patients, families and staff.

Program team member Gail and her Australian Cattle Dog, Olive.

Glen said, “I love all the therapy dogs, but Olive is the best!”

Volunteers also benefit from spending time with patients, families and staff, and facilitating moments of calm and comfort for people at the hospital. Speaking about their volunteering experience, Pet Therapy Program volunteer Gail said, “Each time I show up for a volunteer shift with Olive, there is a moment, a conversation or an interaction with a patient/parent or staff member that completely fills my heart with joy. I leave each week knowing that someone smiled, felt a little more valued or just got to exhale because of this program.”

Those interested in volunteering with the Pet Therapy Program, presented by PetSmart Charities of Canada, can email pettherapy@cw.bc.ca and visit the BC Children’s Hospital website.

3 helpful tips to boost your immune system as you age

(NC) As we age, our immune system weakens, which is why older people are more susceptible to getting sick and often take longer to recover from illness than they did before. So, the older we get, the more important it is to give your immune system the support it needs. Here are three ways you can do that.

Eat well

The food you eat is the fuel your body needs to function. Consuming a variety of foods, including plenty of fruits and vegetables, to get all the nutrients you need while minimizing the amount of processed foods you eat will help you stay healthy.

Smoking and drinking alcohol both negatively affect your immune system, so you should avoid or minimize

consumption of both if you’re looking to boost your immunity.

Remember adult vaccines

Throughout one's life, vaccination including adult vaccinations provides effective protection against disease. While many of us are familiar with childhood vaccinations, they don’t provide lifelong immunity against every disease. As well, some vaccines are prescribed only for adults.

Adults require helper, or booster shots to maintain immunity for some conditions. And, if you didn’t get all your shots as a child, you could still be at risk of

infection from vaccine-preventable diseases.

For example, if you are among the 90 per cent of Canadian adults over 50 years old who’ve had chickenpox –you should consider a vaccine to help prevent shingles. It’s a painful disease caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox.

Exercise regularly

Regular exercise improves your cardiovascular health, lowers blood pressure and helps protect against a variety of viruses and diseases. A balanced diet and regular exercise will also help you maintain a healthy body weight, which in turn helps boost your immune system. While exercise is important, allowing your body to rest is equally valuable. Sleep is the tool your body uses to recharge its batteries, including your immune system.

‘I’m content with

the way I’m valued’

Kiara Advani was recently honoured as the IAA (International Advertising Association) Brand Endorser of the Year in the female category. “This is a very large debate. It’s world over and in every field,” Kiara said. “If I strictly have to stick to the ad world, I feel it’s changing there. I think it’s important to value yourself. It’s important to not be deluded, to know where you stand and what you bring to the table. I would not want to compare myself to what my male or female counterpart is receiving.” The Good Newzz actress added, “If I feel this is my worth, then I would like to associate myself with people who see the same. I am growing and I am content with the way I am valued. I would stick to that. It is important to see how you are growing and from where you’ve come. That’s how I look at it.”

Success of Made in HEAVEN

Actress Mona Singh is riding high on the success of her recent release, Made In Heaven Season Two. She said that working with Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar and Alankrita Srivastava have always been on her wish list. The 3 Idiots actress said, “The praise I’m getting for my performance in Made In Heaven Season 2 is just overwhelming. I am very grateful to be part of such a big franchise, and getting such an overwhelming response makes me happy. Working with such stellar cast and with the biggest directors in the industry has always been on my wish list, and it’s incredible to witness the amount of affection outpouring towards my character Bulbul, not only from the directors but also on social media.” “When I started shooting for the character, I was sure that once people started watching the show, it would resonate with them because she is rock solid and firm, goes well with the narration, and finds its way in between such a big cast.

Suhana’s generosity

Suhana Khan, daughter of actor Shahrukh Khan and interior designer Gauri was seen giving money to a woman after attending an event in Mumbai.

Secret behind Rajinikanth’s youthfulness at 73 revealed

The energy and vibrancy of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth at the age of 73 years is much talked about. His best friend from this city, Raj Bahaddur has revealed the secret during the release of his recent mega hit Jailer. Talking to the media, Raj Bahaddur explained that Rajinikanth derives energy from meditation. He goes to the Himalayas often and meets sages. The sages give him certain roots of medicinal plants to remain composed and young. Once that root is eaten, it will give energy for the period of a week. It

energises the body, he explained. “That is why Rajinikanth is 73-yearold, and looks like a 23-year-old man. He is looking more active and vibrant films after films. The swag has never come down. The reason is the special medicinal plant root that gives him the energy,” said Raj.

Rajinikanth is settled in Tamil Nadu but he is a Kanndiga. Rajinikanth has great respect towards Kannada language. Earlier, Rajinikanth had explained in length the bond between him and Raj Bahaddur at the pre-release function of the movie Jailer and remembered how he could enter the film industry because of him.

Taking to Instagram, a paparazzo posted a video regard. the clip, Suhana is seen exiting the restaurant with her mother. A woman approaches her asking for money and Suhana quickly opens her handbag and gives her two currency notes of Rs 500 each. As Suhana hands out the money, the woman jumps with joy. Suhana is also seen laughing as she bids the paparazzi goodbye. Reacting to the video, a person wrote, “Girl with a golden heart.” A comment read, “I swear she is the sweetest.” An Instagram user said, “Bless her God. Pure heart we can see.” “I love her vibe in this one. The smile. The generosity. Giving the money again,” commented another fan. “She’s the most beautiful, kind, down-to-earth girl look at her how humble she is suhanakhan2,” said an other person. For the occasion, Suhana wore a charcoal sleeveless bodycon dress and black heels. Gauri Khan was seen in a white top, yellow blazer, denims and white heels.

Actress Yami Gautam, who is being praised for her role as a lawyer in OMG 2, admitted that she isn't good at promoting herself and pointed out that the industry places a strong emphasis on marketing actors and films. The Vicky Donor actress wrote, “Some people find success overnight, some people have to prove themselves persistently for years. Some people are great at marketing their talent (or lack of it),some people only want their talent to speak. As an actor I just know how to act and work exceptionally hard on identifying good scripts and versatile characters, that’s my talent.” She said, “I don’t understand or get involved much with marketing of my talent. Unfortunately for majority of our industry everything relies on marketing of a person or project and not on the depth of a script or character. May be that’s the reason why people feel I am underutilised. Anyways, Thanks so much Aavishkar for your kind words, i t ’s truly very encouraging. I will get there eventually, slowly but steadily, one film at a time.”
