GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES

Every year over 900 Queen’s students take the opportunity to go outside Northern Ireland to study or gain work- related experience. There are lots of options and we can help students to research them – from studying in Europe or Canada to interning in Asia or South America.

Developing Global Citizens

Our Global Opportunities Team encourage students to take advantage of a period of study at an overseas university or an international work placement as part of their degree, or a shorter summer programme. We currently have over 250 Student Exchange Agreements with institutions across the world. Students return with improved employability skills, global and cultural awareness and increased selfconfidence and motivation.

Go Global Week

Our annual Go Global Week gives students the chance to chat to organisations that can offer them an experience of a lifetime to study, work or volunteer abroad and to hear from other students who have already taken part.

Funding Options

If a semester or year studying abroad is a recognised part of a degree programme, whether compulsory or optional, students should still be entitled to a student loan whilst overseas. Government or University travel bursaries are also available to help with the costs of a range of international programmes.

Incoming Student Support

We manage the inward mobility of students from Europe, North America, Australasia and Asia, who attend Queen ’ s for one or two semesters under Exchange and Study Abroad programmes.
