Casa Lola

Named in honor of Lola Milagros Cedeño, a cult figure for her “magical recipes” who worked in the very same building that now bears her name, Casa Lola is an ambitious endeavor by international super Chef Treviño to capture the very soul of Puerto Rican cuisine and conjure it into physical reality. Passion for the art of cooking and respect for the quality of ingredients are constant motifs that can be discerned palpably in every course. The massive structure holds three different private areas for parties and activities, the largest seating 100 people all on it’s own. Valet parking available.

Mango’s

Feature Restaurant

There may never be another restaurant that captures the Island’s vibrancy, aestheticism and trendiness quite like Mango’s does. Mango’s peppers the dining experience with a sense of community catering to foodies, families and frolickers alike. It’s kid friendly, dog friendly, service friendly and “let’s get friendly” from the playroom for the tikes to the deceptively sinister mango mojitos. The menu pin balls between Puerto Rican, Asian and American comfort, coalescing into a uniquely playful palatal experience that echoes the vintage-surfer motif dècor. Mango’s is also popular for its unique service; a high end bistro style balancing knowledge and polish with a high tempo and pizazz. A hot spot for birthdays and get-togethers, there is an outdoor wooden terrace and sofas for lounging. From brunch to happy hour to late night, Mangos’ always has an enthusiastic crowd looking to enjoy food, drink and company. Lunch specials and Valet parking available.

Rao’s

Neighb orho od Ita lia n

Condado’s hottest new restaurant is very easy to fall in love with. Rao’s goes through great lengths to give you that neighborhood Italian experience with ridiculously large portions of homemade tasty. The open kitchen invites you to make “off the menu” requests and the wine list is the best value on the Island. Rao’s has a famous cousin in Guaynabo called Piccole e Poste and together they have set the trend for Italian menus in Puerto Rico using what-is-fresh-today as a mission objective and we’ll-makeyou-happy as a battle cry. Outdoor seating available.

Ropa Vieja

Ropa Vieja has been one of the island’s most popular restaurants for good reason. The Cuba-Rican fare is everything you’ve heard about done to perfection. The mofongos, rice “congris”, paellas, mojitos and of course the pulled beef “Ropa Vieja”. Restaurateur Luis Dana is a favorite of ours who always makes sure that the nightly experience is sophisticated and worth the price of admission. Sister restaurant Caramelo is all that plus a sushi bar!

Argentinian Grill

Ummo

We have featured Ummo several times because it is MPC’s #1 choice in the Argentinian Parrillada field in Puerto Rico. The meat crackles within earshot on the open grill behind the bar, the tables are stacked with deliciousness and the steak house quality wine list yells “drink me!”. Don’t sleep on the pastas or seafood offerings, the menu is surprisingly versatile. The plasmas always have soccer games and the outdoor seating is roomy and comfortable & right in the middle of Condado’s bustling strip.

Vaca Brava

Vaca Brava’s legendary gargantuan portions are dwarfed only by the size of its’ desire to make the patrons truly happy. Vaca Brava owns a genuine sense of old fashioned hospitality and, apparently, a genuine worry that you haven’t eaten in a week! The scale of the experience is apparent from the get go, two stories high and with enough space for a small army, Vaca Brava is tailor made for large groups and parties. Speaking of high, most of the dishes are “elevated”, meaning they are sticking straight into the air, magnifying the utter hugeness of the dishes. The flavors match the grandness, the sauces are savory and the meats are seasoned with the theory that more is better. This is the restaurant with a legend so deep, Man v.s. Food came to challenge it. At it’s roots, Vaca Brava is a Puerto Rican family experience. They have a mechanical bull and a gift shop (spiffy hats we might add) and a kids menu. But that doesn’t mean it can’t get rowdy...live music plays on weekends and a flavored mojito menu gets the party started. La Casa at Royal Isabela

Each morning, Executive Chef José Carles visits Royal Isabela’s River Farm and Gatehouse Garden to see what the good earth has given us. Only then does he plan the day’s menu at the Restaurant at La Casa, Royal Isabela’s restaurant. As advocates of both slow food and locavore movements, we combine classic European cooking techniques with Puerto Rican ingredients to create the Restaurant’s signature farm-to-table cuisine. The menu spotlights Royal Isabela’s very own vegetables, herbs and fruits, as well as the bounty from local fishermen, cheesemakers and small family farms.
