En primer lugar, quiero aprovechar la ocasión para invitarles a una clase de prueba grupal, convencidos de que la mejor manera de valorar nuestro trabajo es sintiéndolo en su cuerpo. En Karoon Pilates Jávea, somos muy conscientes de que tenemos “un cuerpo para toda la vida” y queremos tratarlo como se merece, para ello necesitamos conocer previamente su estado, ya que todos tenemos alguna cosilla. Por lo que a priori realizamos una Valoración, que es una clase privada en la que vamos a buscar desequilibrios, acortamientos musculares, desviaciones y anotaremos si tienes o has tenido alguna lesión para saber todo lo que puedes hacer o si hay algo que no deberías hacer. Además el profesor o fisioterapeuta aprovechará en esta clase privada para explicarte las no8

ciones básicas imprescindibles para que puedas entrar en las clases con confianza.. Si sabes cómo estás inicialmente, sentirás cómo avanzas y conseguirás tus objetivos. La Valoración además nos sirve para recomendarte exactamente el tipo de clase, nivel y grupo, que mejor se adaptan a ti. Siempre dentro de las franjas horarias que te sean más cómodas. En nuestro estudio nuestra actividad principal es la fisioterapia y Pilates ya que van siempre relacionados .En nuestras salas podemos hacer 3 tipos de clase. Colectiva vip: en un grupo máximo de ocho personas y con Reformer, son clases dictadas siempre con profesor especializado, otra opción sería convertirla en dos clases Semi-Privadas en las que trabajamos con dos grupos de 4 personas cada uno con su profesor y su nivel o se pueden hacer Duetos: clases de dos personas, para parejas que quieran un servicio más exclusivo. Algunos clientes precisan la clase Privada. En

ella se realiza un trabajo totalmente personalizado y la suelen requerir personas con condicionantes o patologías especiales. Nuestros fisioterapeutas especializados en Pilates podrán o bien prepararte para una operación para la que necesites estar en mejor condición física, o trabajar alguna zona específica, rehabilitarte, o recuperarte de un post operatorio, por ejemplo de una rodilla, prótesis, etc… Ahora quiero hablaros de la sala colectiva, en ella trabajamos con un máximo de once personas. Los alumnos son agrupados por niveles y a cada uno le enseñamos sus correcciones y modificaciones para que cada alumno realice la clase de una forma saludable y adaptada. Todas las clases están equipadas con máquinas de pilates. Con ellas conseguiremos un mejor rendimiento del ejercicio: nos estiraremos más, fortaleceremos más rápido y nos divertiremos más, con una gran variedad de ejercicios, con ellas te tendrás sensaciones que sin ellas no puedes tener. 9

En la sala de fisioterapia atendemos todo tipo de dolores y lesiones. Algunas de ellas van a requerir un trabajo combinado de fisioterapia tradicional, electroterapia y el mejor Pilates en máquinas. Una combinación que nos da un trabajo muy eficiente y de resultados más rápidos. Queremos ofrecer el mejor y más completo servicio, para conseguir nuestro principal objetivo un cliente feliz y sin dolor. Nuestro servicio de fisioterapia es tanto para nuestros clientes de Pilates, como para cualquier persona externa que precise de nuestros servicios. Normalmente en Karoon Pilates mejoramos o eliminamos el dolor, pero eso no quita que un buen día nos levantemos con tortícolis, por haber dormido en mala posición, o nos hayamos torcido un tobillo, o nos hayamos excedido levantando un peso, nues10

Y no es broma, ya que la pérdida de capacidad auditiva (coloquialmente conocida como sordera), puede llevar a que las personas desarrollen falta de confianza en sí mismos, malentendidos, aislamiento del mundo exterior y aceleramiento en la pérdida de otros sentidos. En una sociedad preocupada por la salud ¿qué podemos hacer para cuidar nuestra audición? Dentro del campo de la Prevención podríamos mencionar el proteger nuestros oídos al encontrarnos en lugares con ruido excesivo (existen tapones a medida que nos permiten oír a la vez que nos protegen), minimizar el uso de auriculares para escuchar música (consulte con un especialista los modelos que no son dañinos), no introducir objetos en nuestros oídos, tampoco los populares y nocivos “bastoncillos” para limpiar los oídos, proteger nuestros oídos durante el 12

baño en playas y piscinas y, algo fundamental a partir de los 60 años, controlar anualmente nuestra audición. Curiosamente cuando nuestra audición ha sido afectada, bien por algún daño o bien por el inevitable paso del tiempo, los primeros en darnos cuenta de ello no somos nosotros. Los demás suelen ser los que amablemente nos señalan que ponemos la televisión muy fuerte, que hablamos o bien muy bajo o bien muy fuerte o que pedimos muy a menudo que nos repitan las cosas. Y tanto es así que no somos nosotros los primeros que nos damos cuenta, que hasta cuando somos confrontados por los demás, la primera reacción es la de autodefensa: “Yo oigo perfectamente, son los demás que hablan muy bajo”. Quizás lo más difícil es superar esa fase de negación, pues una vez que nos ponemos en manos

de profesionales de la audición (y aquí conviene recalcar profesionales de la audición, no simples vendedores o artistas del marketing), nos damos cuenta que actualmente la tecnología nos ofrece primeras marcas de audífonos que nos permiten oír en diferentes entornos (restaurantes, cine, iglesias, etc) de manera natural y que en la mayoría de los casos, son prácticamente invisibles y cómodos de llevar. La audiología protésica tiene como objetivo el que por medio de prótesis auditivas o audífonos, la persona pueda llegar a disfrutar de una audición completa y natural, permitiéndola recuperar su alegría de vivir, su comunicación con los demás y sus aficiones. Existe un razonamiento equivocado y peligroso que es el de “ya sé que no oigo bien, pero esperaré hasta que vea que casi no oigo y entonces me pondré audífonos”. En la mayoría de los casos, el uso continuado de los audífonos previene mayor deterioro de la audi-

ción, con lo que, una vez detectada la pérdida, cuanto antes pongamos solución mejor.z Es obvio decir que el ponernos en manos de profesionales titulados y con experiencia debería ser prioridad a la hora de buscar una solución para nuestra audición. Lamentablemente, el marketing agresivo ha llegado también al campo de la salud. El mero hecho de comprar unos audífonos no nos va a llevar a oír bien. Estudios audiológicos bien realizados, buena calidad de audífonos y una adaptación bien realizada, por un profesional, es lo que nos permitirá disfrutar de nuevo de nuestra audición.
