Franz Josef Wagner is the best known of the uncelebrated members of the German media scene. A one-time war correspondent, he was chief correspondent for the Bild newspaper, ghost-writer for Franz Beckenbauer and Boris Becker and editor-in-chief of Bunte and Bild before he was appointed chief columnist for the Springer publishing company in 2001. Since then, he has written the best, most-read and most controversial columns in the country under the heading "Post von Wagner" ["Mail from Wagner"] on page 2 of Bild. This book is an homage to Germany on the 20th anniversary of its reunification.
F
ranz Josef Wagner, born in 1943 in Olmütz, is the most famous tabloid journalist in Germany. He is the author of the column ″Post von Wagner″ in the Bild newspaper, read daily by 12 million people.

It could have been different What we commonly call history is a retrospective creation, in which we organise the past's chaotic events into more or less plausible stories. Suddenly everything appears logical: It must have happened the way it did. But if Julius Caesar had had a headache on the morning of the ides of March, he would probably have become the first Roman emperor a year later; if the weather had been poor, the Lepanto naval battle would never have taken place; and, who knows, perhaps the Loblied group did play a greater role in the fall of the Berlin Wall than we've hitherto realised. Johano Strasser, who loves the subversive transformation of historical events, presents a small world history of chance.

A calendar of Sufi wisdom
6
September 2010 is the hundredth anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882 – 1927) in Europe from his Indian homeland. This is a memorable occasion, for Khan brought with him a wisdom that was unfamiliar to the people of the West. In a striking way, he embodied the spirit of Sufism. His legacy is maintained in the international Sufi orders and the international Sufi movement, which convey and carry on his spirituality. This sumptuously made volume, which is set up as a perpetual calendar, is divided into topics that the reader can relate to in his or her own life: luck, longing, love, sexuality, music and prayer. It includes introductions by Hazrat Inayat Khan's grandson Pir Zia and his son Hidayath Inayat Khan.
Hin 1882 in India, the Sufi master was venerated in his homeland as a virtuoso azrat Inayat Khan was the founder of the international Sufi movement. Born
of Indian classical music. Khan emigrated in 1910 in order to spread his teachings to the United States and Europe. Khan's multi-confessional ″universal service″ is a special religious activity of his order. He died in 1927 during a trip to New Delhi.

The right to receive respect Human dignity is often used as an ultimate justification. In its name wars are fought and pacifism proclaimed, people are protected from the natural aging process and granted euthanasia, unborn children are killed and declared inviolable. Ethical arguments almost always end up referring to human dignity. The Heidelberg theologian Wilfried Härle examines the concept of dignity, explaining its many different facets using concrete examples and cases. In the end, he concludes, only where people are well thought of is human dignity protected.

Introduction into the spirit of yoga The Indian poet and philosopher Tulsidas (1532 – 1623) was an ascetic and an itinerant preacher of the teachings of Rama. His psalm-like poems are still of great spiritual significance to Hindus today. For the first time, the most beautiful and philosophically meaningful verses from the cycle "Vinaya Patrika" are translated directly from Hindi and explained clearly. Through the verses, the reader learns the teachings of suffering and karma as well as the basic idea of insight through renouncing the world and following the way of yoga.
