PIMEX 2017, 5-8 January

The fourteenth edition of PIMEX took place at the award winning Royal Phuket Marina on Phuket’s east coastfrom 5th to 8th January 2017. The show is held during the holiday period when villa owners, long term residents, and high end visitors are all still on the island following Christmas and New Year. The 2017 show attracted over 5,000 quality visitors. An annual event since 2003 the show is firmly fixed on the calendar as Phuket’s biggest trade show.

Thailand Children’s Day, January 9

Phuketians will be able to celebrate Thailand Children’s Day (January 9) in style by attending the many events planned for the island.

This is celebrated each and every year on the second Saturday of January. Thai it is known as “Wan Dek” and the day is celebrated with the children having fun with various activities arranged by both Government agencies and private businesses. Phuket is of course no different and many Government offices, hotels etc will hold special events to celebrate this special day.

День Детей, 9 января В Таиланде к детям совершенно особенное отношение. Пожалуй, здесь их любят, как нигде в мире. Поэтому праздник, посвященный детям, всегда дарит радость и веселье. Многие организации устраивают в этот день праздничные мероприятия для детей всех возрастов. Приятно, что почти все развлечения доступны либо бесплатно, либо за полцены. На Пхукете праздник сопровождается красочным карнавалом, шествием или фестивалем. На улицах острова в этот день проходят благотворительные концерты для детей, выступление школьных коллективов, карнавальные шествия, фейерверки и уличные ярмарки.

Cooking With Chef Daniel The dish: Pistachio Crusted Pork Tenderloin w. Cinnamon & Roasted Garlic sauce, Feta Cheese Cream & Rosemary Roasted Root Vegetables Meat

2 x small loins of pork tenderloin - 150-180 gram/person, pealed pistachios 100 gram – mixed or fine chopped, dijon mustard 4-6 spoons.

Clean & trim the pork tenderloin, rub the pork in extra virgin olive oil, sea salt & crushed fresh black pepper. Sear the whole pork loins in a frying pan so it gets nice colour, let cool down a little, brush the meat with dijon mustard, roll the meat in mixed pistachio nuts, bake in oven 175 degrees celsius about 7 minutes, I like to have my pork tenderloin a little pink in the middle, medium well to get it juicy. Take it out from the oven when the pork is 50 degrees celsius in the middle and let it rest a couple of minutes before you cut it.

Feta Ceese Crème

Greek feta cheese 60 gram, sweet basil 6 leaves, garlic 1 clove, sour cream 4 spoons, salt & pepper.

Everything in mixer - let stay cold about 1 hour before serving

Cinnamon & Roasted Garlic Sauce

Demi glace (basic sauce stock) - 300 ml, red wine - 100 ml, 2 x cinnamon sticks,

roasted garlic 5 cloves (sear in pan, bake in oven wrapped in aluminium foil for 30-40 min until soft), sugar - 1 spoon, balsamic vinegar - 2 spoons, salt & ground white pepper.

Cook together for 30 minutes, take out the cinnamon sticks and mix the sauce in a hand blender, after strain in a fine strainer.

Roasted root vegetables

Carrots - 2 medium size, root celery - 1 piece medium size, potatoes - 5 medium size, turnips - 2 medium size (can replace with Sweet potato), red onion - 2 pieces, extra virgin olive oil, rosemary fresh fine chopped, garlic fresh fine chopped - 4 cloves, salt & black pepper.

Cut all the root vegetables in big long pieces 1 cm wide & 8-10 cmlong, put everything on a oven form, mix it with olive oil, salt & pepper, rosemary & garlic, bake it in oven 175 degrees Celsius in about 30-40 minutes (depends on the oven) – open the oven every 10 minutes and stir everything.

Две небольшие вырезки по 150-180 гр. (по одной на человека), очищенные измельченные фисташки - 100 гр., дижонская горчица 4-6 ложек. Смажьте свиную вырезку оливковым маслом, добавьте морскую соль и черный перец по вкусу. Подрумяньте куски мяса на сковороде, затем немного остудите и смажьте дижонской горчицей, обваляйте в панировке из фисташек. Запекайте мясо в духовке при температуре 1750 С примерно 7 минут, если хотите, чтобы степень готовности вашей вырезки была medium и она сохранила сочность. Затем достаньте блюдо из духовки и дайте ему остыть в течение пары минут.

Крем из сыра фета:

60 гр. сыра фета, 6 листьев базилика, головка чеснока, 4 ложки сметаны, соль и перец. Все перечисленные ингредиенты смешайте в миксере и на час поставьте в холодильник.

Соус из запеченного чеснока и корицы:

300 мл соуса демиглас, 100 мл красного вина, 2 коричные палочки, 5 головок жаре-

ного чеснока (подержать в духовке в фольге в течение 30-40 минут для мягкости), 1 ложка сахара, 2 ложки бальзамического уксуса, соль и белый перец. Готовьте вместе в течение 30 минут, затем уберите палочки корицы, смешайте остальное в блендере и пропустите через сито.

Печеные овощи:

2 моркови среднего размера, корень сельдерея среднего размера, 5 картофелин, 2 небольших репы (можно заменить на сладкий картофель), 2 красные луковицы, оливковое масло, розмарин, 4 головки чеснока, соль и черный перец Корнеплоды порежьте дольками примерно в 1 см шириной и длиной в 8-10 см, положите овощи в форму для запекания полейте оливковым маслом, добавьте соль и перец, розмарин и чеснок и запекайте при температуре 1750С в течение 30-40 минут, каждые 10 минут открывайте духовку и помешивайте овощи.

DeDos Restaurant

French Gastronomy with an Asian Touch

huket is evolving into an International food centre and researching DeDos illustrates just how complex and global the foodie scene here in Phuket.

Owner Chef Pablo Blattmann journey here started almost 20 years ago, when his Bolivian

work in a number of Michelin Star restaurants before returning to the “Institut” in 2007 to do a Diploma in Restaurant Management.

The course required a 6 month’s internship and so Pablo chose Thailand and the then Sheraton Resort Laguna (now Angsana). In 2008 the only stylish restaurants in Cherngtalay were The Siam Supper Club, Tatonka and Toto so Pablo decided there was scope for a French Gastronomy Restaurant with an Asian touch so he established DeDos with a colleague from the Sheraton and now life partner Khun Bee. De Dos or DeDos - depends on how you write it - in Spanish De Dos as two words means “from/ of two” (and refers to the two owners Pablo and Khun Bee) or DeDos as one word means

bulk wine with 10% of fruit juice added to attract a much lower tax so restaurants can maximize their beverage earnings. A “fruit wine” can be bought for about 250 baht a bottle and sold for 200 baht a glass.

Pablo ensures that DeDos only sells “real wine” (no fruit juice added) and offers 80 labels with 11 wines offered by the glass. As a result, he mainly attracts 50 + retirees, who want top quality classic dishes with an Asian twist and who are prepared to pay for a dining experience. There are only about 20 restaurants in Phuket who are constantly recognized for quality and consistency. A quick check of TripAdvisor shows 242 out of 262 reviews rate DeDos as either Excellent or Very good - that is

He enrolled in the world famous “Institut Paul Bocuse” in Lyon (France’s culinary capital) and completed his 2 year diploma in 2002. He then went on to

As you talk to Pablo, it is clear you are talking to a very creative and passionate person. When you visit DeDos always take time to chat to Chef/Owner Pablo - in fact in any restaurant chatting to the Chef is always the best way to understand the cuisine and appreciate the style of the place and understand what the specials of the day are.

I enjoy my wines and regular readers know that the marriage of food and wine is the ultimate dining experience. Phuket has recently seen a spate of cheap “fruit wines” served. It is often

over 90% and a great credit to Chef Pablo and his team.

As to the food, some recommendations: Starters:- Tartar Duo; Foie Gras poele; Crab meat salad Mains:- Duck breast “Pomelo”; DeDos Tuna; lamb rack Desserts:- Hot Lava Cake; Ginger Crème Brulee; Crepe Suzette.

After 8 years of persevering, Pablo opens DeDos LeLounge in Surin at the old Sugo site on 16 December. He has recruited Canadian Chef Jean Philippe from Quebec to prepare Tapas and other delights in a location with lots of potential - I haven’t been there yet but understand it has a very interesting bar.

Прежде чем перейти к меню, скажем несколько слов о владельце и шефе заведения Пабло Блатмане, знакомство с тайской культурой которого началось еще 20 лет назад. Тогда, будучи студентом, Пабло вместе с отцом, боливийцем по крови, впервые побывал в тайском ресторане в Чикаго. И это знакомство с миром тайской гастрономии, сыграло, пожалуй, решающую роль в дальнейшей карьере Пабло. В 2008 году он перебрался в Страну улыбок и открыл здесь свой ресторан. Мать Пабло родом из Швейцарии. Именно она научила шефа DeDos основам кулинарии, хотя изначальная специальность Па-

Лично мне очень понравился выбор вин, как известно, хорошая еда плюс вино - это комбинация, составляющая идеальный ужин. Здесь посетителям предлагаются только настоящие вино (без добавления фруктового сока), а винная карта заведения насчитывает 80 наименований и 11 из них можно заказать по бокалам. В

«Voshod» - From Moscow to Bali in Two Soviet Cars

In December 2016 Phuket visited the participants of «Voshod» expedition. Six brave guys have left behind their business in Russia and put all efforts to realize a dream - to travel in two old «Volga» automobiles from Moscow to Bali. Upon arrival in Phuket the guys were already very worn out – driving thousands of kilometers, attending dozens of concerts (several members of the expedition were musicians), including in Tibet. However, the team found time for a short interview with RL Magazine.

Ilya D.F: We planned this trip for two years. I believe I can name myself as the mastermind

behind this scheme. While in the process of preparation we did not think it would be so difficult, and the budget was not too well planned. Each «Volga» cost us 50-60 thousand rubles and we later we had to invest hundreds and hundreds of thousands, to bring the cars up to performance and prepared for such a serious challenge.

Sanya: Of course, we’re not planning to make all the way back to Russia on these cars. We may put them into containers and send them home. In Russia we’re all doing different things; Vova, for example, (Vova Chick) a guitarist, has his own band. Ilya is a vocalist, bassist and a poet.

Just before the expedition I opened a bar serving craft beer in Moscow and have a regular job.

Vova Chick: So far, the biggest problem for the whole expedition was on the border with Thailand. For two weeks the cars were not allowed to cross the border - we prepared a special permit to enter, and the agent who was supposed to help us with this, let us down, so we were stuck.

Sanya: Dangers, as always lay in wait on the road. The most dangerous track in the world on the route Lhasa-Sichuan,we managed to pass. Highlands, serpentines, very steep climbs and descents- there was, for example, 250 km section, where there was no road at all.

Vova Chick: Of course, we are a little bit tired because it has totaled two months on the road, plus we all have different characters making the jouney not so simple as sometimes this would result in arguments; some of us are easier to tolerate than others!

Sanya: The thing is that there a different parts in this expedition -media coverage in social networks, music concerts and performances. The most important part is maintaining the technical aspects of expedition of which I am held responsible for. One of the cars noe must be repaired, but we’re playing a gig instead as you can see. So, superimposed on one another, conflicts are obtained.

Vova Chick: Today it’s our 22nd gig during our expedition and we are certainly tired. We didn’t plan so many, but wherever we arrive everybody asks us to play. In Tibet, we were actually the first Russian band to perform there.

Ilya D.F: Of course, despite the difficulties, we will repeat this adventure. Moreover, there appears to be a new plan for the next, even more ambitious expedition, but we will not disclose details yet.

Экспедиция «Восход» на Пхукете В декабре 2016 годая на Пхукете побывали участники экспедиции «Восход». Шесть отважных парней бросили все свои дела в России и положили все силы, чтобы осуществить мечту – проехать на двух старых «Волгах» из Москвы до Бали. К прибытию на Пхукет ребята были уже весьма измотаны – ведь за их плечами тысячи километров, десятки концертов (несколько участников экспедиции - музыканты), в том числе в Тибете. Тем не менее, на небольшое интервью для RL Magazine у экспедиции время нашлось.

Илья D.F: Мы планировали эту поездку два года, собирались, вкладывались.

Себя я могу назвать идейным вдохновителем этой поездки. Мы в процессе подготовки не думали, что будет так сложно, и бюджет закладывали не такой, какой в итоге вышел. Если каждая «Волга» обошлась нам в 50-60 тысяч рублей, то потом нам пришлось вложить еще сотни и сотни тысяч, чтобы довести машины до ума и подготовить к такому серьезному испытанию.

Санек: Мы обратно, конечно, на этих тачках уже не поедем. Пока решаем, что делать, возможно, погрузим в контейнеры и отправим на родину. Там, кстати, мы все разными делами занимались. Вовчик, например, (Вова Чик) – гитарист, у него своя группа. Илья – вокалист, басист, стихи и музыку пишет. Сам я незадолго до экспедиции открыл бар с крафтовым пивом в Москве на Автозаводской, ну и работал на обычной работе. Вова Чик: Пока что самые большие проблемы за всю экспедицию у нас возникли как раз в Таиланде. Две недели машины на границе стояли, мы готовили спецразрешение на въезд, а агент, который должен был помочь нам в этом, сильно нас подвел, так что мы застряли.

Санек: Опасности, как всегда, подстерегали на дорогах. Cамая опасная трасса в мире - на маршруте Лхаса-Сычуань, и нам как раз ее нужно было проехать. Высокогорье, серпантины, очень крутые подъемы и спуски. Был, например, участок в 250 км, где вообще дорожного полотна не было.

Вова Чик: Конечно, мы уже устали немного, все-таки два месяца в пути плюс характеры у всех не очень простые. Ругаемся иногда с некоторыми персонажами экспедиции, кого-то легче терпеть, кого-то сложнее. Санек: Просто проект многогранный. Есть медийная часть – где нужно

делать посты в соцсетях, есть музыкальная – это концерты, выступления. Ну и главное – экспедиционная часть, я несу за нее ответственность. Вот нам сейчас, например, машину нужно ремонтировать, а мы, видите, концерты играем. Так что одно на другое накладывается, получаются конфликты.

Вова Чик: Сегодня уже 22-й концерт за экспедицию играем. Устали, конечно. Мы столько не планировали, но куда не приедем, везде просят выступить. В Тибете мы вообще были первой в истории группой из России, давшей там концерт. Илья D.F: Конечно, несмотря на трудности, мы повторим эту авантюру.

Более того, уже зреет новый план по следующей, еще более грандиозной экспедиции, но пока детали раскрывать не будем.

Phuket based thai hotelier worker Ms. Thirapan Narongkool shares her experience of travelling to Russia, Armenia and Georgia. Discover what she liked and disliked most of all about her journey and how she feels about Russians and their lack of smiles.

«Russian people do not smile as often as people from other countries – but get to know them and they will surprise you» Ms. Thirapan Narongkool (Khun Bella), PR Manager at Pullman Phuket Arcadia Could you tell in a few words what made you decide to go to Russia?

My best friend Gigi ,who is Thai and lives in Dubai, and I decided that this year we would visit a place that neither of us had visited before. We chose to visit 5 different countries over a course of 3 weeks, starting by meeting in Moscow, Russia, and then onto Armenia, Georgia, Turkey and Dubai (UAE). The trip was very exciting and it is quite rare that two ladies like us get the opportunity to see almost 20 cities across 5 countries, in only 3 weeks! One of the reasons we chose to visit Russia and begin our adventure in Moscow was because neither of us had been before and we were both interested in experiencing the culture and meeting the countries people, not to mention the fact that I have always wanted to visit Russia. Ideally, we would have loved to visit other cities whilst we were there, but unfortunately, we only had 3 days to explore Moscow before we had to move onto our next country. However, I can say that Moscow never disappointed us!

What was your destination? What cities you visited in Russia?

We were only in Moscow for 2 nights and 3 days but I definitely plan to visit again.

What time of year did you go there? Was it cold?

What would you say about weather in Russia.

I visited Russia in April 2016 – I thought it would have been spring time, but it was still very cold, especially for a Thai person! There were no blooming flowers and trees with leaves and everything looked quite dead and dull. I arrived in Moscow by myself, as I flew from Thailand and Gigi flew from Dubai. Upon my arrival at the airport I met a Russian man who spoke quite good English. His name was Igor

and he explained to me how it was still the cold season in Russia now.

Luckily, this was not my first visit to a cold country so I was prepared to get cold.

What were your expectations from Russia? And did they meet the reality?

I actually have many Russian friends, both in Bangkok and Phuket and, of course, meet some Russian guests whilst working in the hotel and to be honest, I have noticed that it seems that Russian people do not smile often which makes them look not so friendly as people from other countries. In fact, I found that the reality was opposite; as soon as I met the man at the airport I realized that they were just as friendly as other foreigners. We took the same train to the city and he took the time to explain to me a lot about the culture, the places and the people. He even offered to walk me to my hotel, probably because I had a large suitcase and would have had to walk alone, but still very nice of him. I then continued to find this attitude everywhere we went, very helpful and friendly, even some people who could not speak English would try their best to offer their help.

What can you say about Russian people honestly? And from your point of view what is the difference between Russian and thai people?

In my opinion, Thais are naturally friendly and always smile.

Russians, on the other hand, do not smile often, but if you talk to them then they are very nice and friendly. We made a lot of Russian friends at the hotel that we were staying at. Unfortunately, after our first day there, I became quite unwell, probably since my body was struggling to adjust to the cold, coming from such a hot climate. One of the guests at the hotel, who was travelling with his wife and baby, gave me something to help my cold and the next

morning I felt much better. It is small things like this that show their great hospitality towards tourists like myself and I am very thankful for this.

What things impressed you most of all in Russia and Moscow in particular?

It is hard to say what impressed me the most about Moscow! It was wonderful to see such beautiful places such as Saint Basil’s Cathedral, Red Square, Kremlin, Tsar Bell, the central area, Arbat Street, Moscow Metro and much more like this.

Was there something you didn’t like in Russia?

Or did you have any kind of disappointment?

I feel as though I need more time to explore Russia and visit other beautiful cities but, so far from what I have seen, there is nothing that disappoints me about Russia.

What can you say about Russian food? Did you try Borsch or any other traditional Russian dishes?

I tried a few Russian dishes, but not for every meal as we were eating international breakfasts. We tried a few hot soups, I think it was a dumpling dish that you call Pelmeni, and a few other dishes of which I cannot remember the names of. I had no problems with the Russian food!

Did you go to restaurants or nightclubs? What can you say about it?And about the prices in Moscow?

We ate Russian food in restaurants for the two nights that we were there. The service was good and most of the staff spoke some English which was nice. It was only at a local restaurant on Arbat Street

where they couldn’t speak English, but that was not a problem, the staff were still lovely and we just pointed to what we wanted off the menu. We didn’t visit any nightclubs as it was too cold outside and we were busy enjoying food and drink in the restaurants. We didn’t do much shopping, but from looking at general prices for food and restaurants, everything seemed reasonable. I did buy a few souvenirs, some vodka and the occasional snack of food.

Could you live in Russia?

I do think I could live in Moscow. I would just need to bring some spices and chilies from Thailand, by myself some warm clothes and learn how to speak Russian!

Do you plan to come back there?

Yes, I will definitely be visiting Russia again; I would love to visit Saint Petersburg and other cities that I have heard are nice. I have heard some great things about Saint Petersburg.

You’ve been also to Georgia and Armenia. So where did you like the most?

I did, Armenia and then Georgia, both of which I loved. The people there are also Russian speakers as it was a Former USSR. It is such a great thing to be able to travel and learn about the different history behind the countries. All three countries have such different, beautiful and attractive places to visit, and of course, the people in each are so special. We were so lucky to meet such friendly people on our trip.

Sometimes we didn’t plan where to go or stay, and often booked our hotel in the next city just the night before. This was what made it so exciting, unplanned but exciting, which helped us meet people we did not expect to meet and experience things that we did not expect to experience.

«Русские улыбаются нечасто, но если узнать их получше, они вас удивят» Бэлла (Тхирапан Наронгкул), PR менеджер в отеле Pullman Phuket Arcadia Расскажи в нескольких словах, как вообще пришла в голову идея поехать в Россию?

Моя лучшая подруга, Гиги тоже тайка, но живет в Дубаи, и я решила, что отличной идеей встретиться будет отправиться вместе в какое-либо место, где никто из нас не был раньше. Мы выбрали пять стран, которые надо было успеть объехать за три недели. Начать путешествие было решено в Москве, затем отправиться в Армению, Грузию, Турцию. Завершить наше турне мы планировали в ОАЭ. Конечно, мы были очень воодушевлены и крайне редко бывает, чтобы две девушки решились на такой челлендж – посмотреть 20 городов в пяти странах за три недели! Одна из причин, по которой мы выбрали Россию в качестве старта нашего путешествия – это полное отсутствие представления о людях и культуре этой страны. В идеале мы бы хотели успеть посмотреть еще больше, но, к сожалению, у нас было только три дня на Москву, которая, к слову, нисколько нас не разочаровала!

Какие были первые впечатления от России? Не замерзли? Мы были в России в апреле. Я рассчитывала на весну в полном смысле слова, но было очень холодно, особенно, для меня, ведь я родом из Таиланда! Никаких цветущих растений, зеленых деревьев – все выглядело мертвым и унылым. В аэропорту в Москве я познакомилась с парнем, который довольно неплохо говорил по-английски, его звали Игорь. Он объяснил мне, что весна в России специфическая и считается холодным сезоном. К счастью, опыт путешественника в холодные страны у меня уже был, так что я запаслась теплой одеждой.

Были ли у тебя какие-то ожидания от России? Оправдались ли они?

У меня много русских друзей в Бангкоке и на Пхукете и, конечно, я встречаю много русских по работе и, если честно, я заметила, что они нечасто улыбаются, из-за чего кажутся недружелюбными, в отличие от людей в других странах. На самом деле, все не совсем так. Взять хотя бы Игоря, который помог мне в аэропорту. Пока мы ехали на аэроэкспрессе в Москву, он рассказал мне много о местной культуре, главных достопримечательностях и людях. Он даже предложил мне помочь донести мой огромный чемодан до отеля, что было очень мило с его стороны. В дальнейшем я только убеждалась, что русские люди очень отзывчивы и дружелюбны. Даже если они не знают английского языка, они всегда стараются помочь.

Как ты думаешь, в чем принципиально отличаются русские от тайцев?

Я думаю, что тайцы от природы дружелюбны и всегда улыбчивы. Русских нужно узнать поближе, чтобы заслужить их улыбку. Мы подружились со многими людьми за эту поездку. В первый же день мне стало не очень хорошо, возможно, из-за смены климата, и один из постояльцев отеля, где мы остановились, дал мне какие-то лекарства, которые в итоге поставили меня на ноги на следующее утро. Такие маленькие, но показательные вещи происходили постоянно.

Что впечатлило тебя в Москве больше всего? Было здорово увидеть Храм Василия Блаженного, Красную площадь, Кремль, Арбат, знаменитое московское метро и еще кучу всего!

А было ли что-нибудь, что разочаровало, не понравилось? Я чувствую, что мне нужно больше времени, чтобы исследовать Россию и узнать ее лучше. Но из того, что я видела, ничто меня не разочаровало.

Что ты можешь сказать о русской кухне? Обычно тайцы, мягко говоря, не в восторге от нее.

Кое-что я успела распробовать. Мы ели супы, пельмени – вы ведь так их называете? Еще несколько блюд. Никаких проблем, мне все понравилось.

В какие вообще заведения вы ходили? Были в клубах, например?

Сервис в русских ресторанах на хорошем уровне, большинство официантов говорит по-английски, что приятно. Только в одном ресторане на Арбате нас так никто и не понял, но ничего страшного. Мы не ходили особо по ночным клубам, старались избегать лишних выходов на улицу из-за холода, согреваясь в ресторанах. Мы не особо увлекались шоппингом, но в целом, что в ресторанах, что в шоппинг-моллах цены показались мне приемлемыми. Лично я купила несколько сувениров, водку и несколько снеков.

Ты бы cмогла жить в России?

Думаю, да. Мне бы понадобилось только прихватить с собой из Таиланда кое-какие специи и чили, теплую одежду и русский разговорник.

Thailand Yacht Show 2016 The biggest yacht event of the year successfully finished this December. We talked to the organizer and some key exhibitors about the show and the most outstanding boats of TYS.

Andy Treadwell, managing director of Thailand Yacht Show

We’ve had half a year to make this second Thailand Yacht Show happen and I think we have proved that this is the right time of year to get big boats to Thailand. Of course, it is that which is one of the main focuses of the show – the super yachts. The project is not just about organizing the show. It’s a platform for the industry to meet new clients but also show the yachting community from the west what Thailand offers and how this can become a fantastic winter cruising area. We’re not going to maximize the potential of that unless we’re getting the changes in regulations and taxes that we are pressing for. the government wants this to happen; they are doing their best and I’m working very closely with them. This is what they want and what will happen at the end of the day. There is so much around, so much nearby and it’s not just Thailand, it’s Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia. There is a Gulf of Thailand and the Gulf of Siam and so on – there is so much and on the way down to Singapore you have Malaysia. Once past Malaysia, you then start the biggest stretch of yachting heaven in the world – Indonesia where there is no infrastructure at all but a very beautiful place and another government that is very serious about succeeding in terms of yachting tourism as well.

Olivier Badri, sales manager of Titan Broker (Lauren L Superyacht)

We are in charge of the management of the boat and we are also the central agency, which means that all the charters requests on Lauren L go through us and we’re in touch with the owner. When we decided to come in this show we didn’t expect to show the boat to the real clients. The idea is to promote the boat and the company and what is good about this show is that there are a lot of journalists. I think yachting is a new thing here in Indian Ocean and we will be happy to increase our position here.

Normally our clients book the yacht for a week. There are two types of clients - there is family charter and we have some party charters. Time to time we also book it for some companies looking to use it for corporate events, team building and so on. There are famous musicians, actors, writers, sportsmen among our clients but of course I cannot name them. There is a GM on the boat who takes care of everything. There is even a hairdresser, who is a member of the crew and has a special degree in hairdressing, along with a water sport instructor and jet ski instructor. The person in charge of the safety is the captain. Next Yacht show Lauren L will take part in hopefully will be in Dubai, where we also have a lot of potential clients. Lauren L is already booked by a Middle East Prince.

Boat Lagoon Yachting, Alister Brunskill

We distribute several brands in South East Asia but the brand we’ve been representing the longest is Princess Yachts which is manufactured in the UK. Our territory covers Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Maldives.

What we find here particularly, in Thailand, is that the market is 80 percent expatriate, coming mostly from Europe. We’ve got a couple of clients from Australia and US but our main clients are from Europe who are either retired and living in Thailand or they still have business and based here in Phuket or in Bangkok. I would probably say that demographic of our clients ranges between 30 all the way up to 60 year old expats.

It appears that they are family orientated, that’s the reason why the Flybridge works for them, it has more living space and it’s a very social boat. It’s still a very new event to the area but I see a lot of potential.

They’ve managed to get Super yachts over here and of course Princess build super yachts, allowing us to meet clients who are looking for a boat of that size range. I still can see there is a room for improvement but you can see the potential.

It was an enjoyable show with a very good turnout and a serious interest shown in the boats on display.

We have been very busy following up all the leads generated from the show and are confident that several sales will be concluded as a result. The show itself was better than last year. The change in opening hours to later in the day made a big difference and encouraged visitors to stay longer and enjoy the events and displays that were on offer. The trends in Phuket continues to be high quality and overall good value.

Illuzion is known as a famous night club in the heart of Patong in Phuket and recently its owner Paolo Giachino purchased a boat which also took part in Thailand Yacht Show. “I bought the boat 4 years ago for myself but it wasn’t originally for cruising. It was then that people started asking me if I could cruise it. This year we’re going to do not only cruises but also parties, floating beach clubs. I bought a lot of toys – banana boat, jet ski and so on. The boat is also available for charter. It will be used for the cruising but especially for the welcoming of our best customers. We took part in this show because it was the easiest way to show the boat to the brokers and charter companies. The boat is good not just for partygoers but it is also great for families and friends. It took me two years to find the right boat. I rented catamarans, yachts, sailing boats and so on, but the only one that was giving me the feeling of being home was this Turkish gullet.

На выставку привезли еще больше лодок, чем в прошлом году, в том числе, мегаяхты. Мы поговорили с организатором и участниками самой яркой выставки региона о впечатлениях.

У нас было полгода на то, чтобы организовать эту выставку и я думаю, что нам удалось доказать, что для проведения Thailand Yacht Show мы выбрали правильное время года, особенно, чтобы привезти суперяхты. Конечно, в этом году главный акцент был сделан на большие лодки. Thailand Yacht Show - это платформа для встреч брокеров и покупателей, но задача шоу также и в том, чтобы показать людям, каким фантастическим круизным направлением может стать этот регион. Однако, потенциал его мы не сможем раскрыть до тех пор, пока не произойдет изменений в налоговом секторе и законодательстве. И правительство хочет, чтобы это произошло, прикладывая все усилия, поверьте, ведь я работаю в тесном взаимодействии с ними. Здесь столько всего вокруг и речь не только о Таиланде. Это и Мьянма, и Вьетнам, и Камбоджа. Здесь вам и Андаманское море, и Сиамский залив, и Сингапур и Малайзия. А затем настоящий рай для яхт – Индонезия, в которой совершенно нет инфраструктуры, но где власти также предпринимают серьезные шаги, чтобы сделать это направление успешным с точки зрения яхтенного туризма.

Мы отвечаем за менеджмент лодки, также через нас проходят все чартерные запросы и мы находимся в постоянном взаимодействии с владельцем. Когда мы решили принять участие в этом шоу, мы не планировали найти здесь реальных клиентов. Cкорее, идея была в продвижении нашей компании, и что хорошо, на шоу было очень много журналистов. Думаю, яхтинг – все еще новое веяние в Индийском океане, но мы будем счастливы упрочить наши позиции здесь. Lauren L интересуются два типа клиентов – семейные люди или молодежь. Время от времени Lauren L также сдается для проведения корпоративных мероприятий, тренингов и тимбилдинга. Среди наших клиентов есть известные музыканты, актеры, писатели, спортсмены, но назвать их имена я не могу из-за политики конфиденциальности. Конечно, на лодке есть человек, который следит за всем – генеральный менеджер. И все же, главный человек, за которым всегда будет последнее слово, отвечающий в том числе за безопасность на судне, – это капитан. Что касается экипажа, то у нас есть даже штатный паркимахер, инструкторы по водным видам спорта, вроде джет-ски. Надеюсь, что следующим шоу Lauren L станет Дубаи, где у нас также много потенциальных клиентов. Кстати, лодку уже забронировал один из ближневосточных принцев.

Яхт-шоу такого масштаба – все еще что-то новое для данного региона, но я думаю, что здесь сокрыт большой потенциал. Организаторы смогли доставить сюда суперяхты, в том числе наши. Мы продаем лодки нескольких брендов в Юго-Восточной Азии, и все же бренд, который мы представляем дольше всего – британский Princess Yachts. Мы охватываем Таиланд, Сингапур, Малайзию, Индонезию и Мальдивы. Что касается именно тайского сегмента, то здесь у нас клиентура на 80% состоит из экспатов, преимущественно, европейцев. В основном, это либо европейцы, живущие в Таиланде, либо те, у кого здесь или в Бангкоке есть свой бизнес. У нас есть также пара клиентов из Австралии и США. Что касается возраста, то в среднем это люди от 30 до 60 лет. Часто это семьи, поэтому наш хит – это Princess Flybridge, в которой много пространства и которая является очень социально ориентированной лодкой.

Потом ко мне стали подходить люди и спрашивать, можно ли ее арендовать. В этом году мы планируем устраивать круизы и вечеринки на ее борту. Я уже купил дополнительное развлекательное оборудование – банан, джет-ски и так далее. Лодка также доступна для чартера. Я рассчитываю, что она будет использоваться для круизов, особенно, нашими лучшими гостями. У меня ушло два года на то, чтобы найти правильную яхту. Я пробовал арендовать катамараны, разные яхты, и так далее, но именно на борту этого турецкого гулета я почувствовал себя, как дома.

The « joys» of Yachting By: Capt. Stefan H.Strehl

I

’ve been in the yachting business for decades as a yacht broker, yacht captain, building supervisor, yacht consultant and surveyor originating from commercial shipping as captain of very large crude carriers and product tankers.

Yachting is certainly a very popular and interesting hobby for a lot of people and I’ve had the privilege working for some very famous and prominent clients over many years.

There are also unfortunately some negative aspects, for example, there are a lot of first time yacht buyers who make some big mistakes in buying a yacht or even attempting to construct a new one, just with the help of their yacht brokers. I have nothing against yacht brokers as I worked from my office in Antibes successfully as a yacht and ship broker for 8 years. A lot of yacht brokers are excellent salesmen but they are often not very knowledgeable about technical or structural details which can result in the ownership of certain yachts a very expensive and unpleasant adventure.

Successful owners always have an independent consultant on their side when dealing with their brokers, shipyards, insurers or even during time of inspections, construction or condition surveys.

These consultants charge a going rate of around €1,000 per day; but they will certainly make sure that their client is not talked into some financial suicide deals with brokers selling them yachts in bad condition for a «steal» price with a note that the vessel needs some small «refits or improvements» to make it perfect. I have personally experienced unlucky owners going bankrupt, getting divorced, abandoned by their families and they generally been exhausted financially and physically by some disaster deals they been talked into by some slick yacht broker!

There are also a lot of self declared «experts» or «consultants» with very little knowledge and/or bad training about what is imperative dealing with these complex issues and these people can be as detrimental as a bad or unexperienced yacht broker. Always make sure to hire experienced consultants with a good track record, a profound education and excellent references. Just a jolly «Mr. nice guy» or «beach bum» from the next door sailing boat is really not what you need. Furthermore, be very careful with consultants and building supervisors with gleaming references from owners of shipyards they have worked with. I personally had quite bad experiences with certain shipyards that did not like my professional knowledge, strict checking of all items, materials and finishes that often resulted in major discussions.

I’ve been more than once approached by the owners or directors of certain shipyards trying to bribe me either with money or presents like expensive watches, fabulous weekends in order to soften and change my view on certain items they wanted to change from the original specification, without informing the owner, to save some money! They can attempt this, but I really am the wrong person to fall for these tricks and bribery.

Thus, some of these shipyard directors or owners send me or my onsite construction supervisors, death threats or promises of «accidents» during our inspection tours in their shipyard. This

clearly shows that a professional and knowledgeable reputation is really not welcomed by some of these shipyards as they cannot play their stupid games exchanging agreed technical specifications or materials for cheaper, lesser quality and/or similar «looking» items!

Even the presence of a classification company during the construction is not a guarantee that all is perfect. They look at certain materials and construction methods and if all is according to their rules, they are happy. However they are, for instance, not interested if a window is not straight installed as long as the window meets their class requirements!

I’ve inspected yachts with brand new full class certificates from well known classification societies for hull and machinery without any recommendations, where areas or machinery inspected by me were clearly against the rules of this classification society.

Of course, they are some very professional shipyards in the world that do not play around with the «monkey business» mentioned above as they really take pride in their work and products they deliver! There are only a handful of shipyards building top yachts in the world that I know of, working in a correct fashion, making fabulous yachts and delivering really what they promised to their clients. Obviously, they are not the cheapest and promises from some competitors «we are building your yacht exactly as the top yard xyz...but for much less money» should always be digested extremely carefully; if you pay peanuts, all you get is monkeys!

Production figures really mean nothing as a lot of these companies go for quantity instead of quality and publish proudly their volume of yachts they have been building, without anyone questioning the quality they are delivering. Certainly, there are areas that substantial amounts of money can be saved in choosing different technical systems, engines, generators or interior options, but these suggestions should come from your consultant who should have had operating experiences with these items.

If your «consultant» turns up with some great references from some dodgy shipyard, you can be quite sure that he was either on their pay list or had really no clue what he was looking at and the shipyard had a field day taking him for a ride!

Yachting can be a great way of spending some real quality time with family and friends. I’ve owned11 yachts between 45 and 105ft, lived and sailed on them for decades and really had the best and most relaxed time of my life; especially here in Phuket. The islands, the weather, the cruising area, the food and the very friendly people make it one of my favorite cruising areas in the world. In Phuket I can recommend some serious yacht brokers like Lee Marine, Simpson, Marine and the Princess Yacht Dealership which I consider as professionals who will take very good care of you.

Before you decide that this could be very nice way of spending some of your valuable time and hard earned money, make sure you hire some «pro’s» and work with an experienced yacht broker with a good reputation that will guide you successfully through the sometimes complex and dangerous «minefields» of successful yachting!

Почему при Покупке и Строительстве Лодки Нужен Независимый Консультант Текст: Стефан Штрель

Я

провел в яхтенном бизнесе несколько десятилетий как яхт-брокер, капитан яхт, управляющий строительством лодок, консультант и инспектор. В бизнес этот я пришел из торгового флота, где работал капитаном больших сухогрузов и танкеров. Яхтинг, безусловно, популярное хобби, и я имел честь успешно работать для некоторых очень известных и выдающихся клиентов. Но есть в этом бизнесе, к сожалению, и подводные камни. Один из них заключается в том, что, люди покупают или строят свою первую лодку, прибегая только лишь к помощи своих яхт-брокеров. Ничего не имею против яхт-брокеров в целом, я и сам восемь лет проработал яхтенным и судовым брокером, имея офис в Антибе. Но даже хороший продавец не всегда хорошо осведомлен о технических или структурных деталях судна. А между тем, эти детали могут обернуться для владельцев некоторых яхт дорогостоящими и неприятными приключениями. Поэтому искушенные владельцы всегда нанимают независимого консультанта, который будет находиться на их стороне в любых отношениях с их брокерами, судостроителями, страховщиками, во время инспекции, строительства или проверки состояния судна. Независимые консультанты берут обычно за свои услуги около 1.000 € в день, но эти люди действительно способны удержать клиента от финансового самоубийства в ходе переговоров с брокером, который дешево продает яхту в плохом состоянии, уверяя, что после «небольшого улучшения» судно станет идеальным. Я имел возможность близко наблюдать, как незадачливые владельцы яхт разоряются и разводятся, опустошенные финансово и физически в ходе катастрофических сделок, навязанных ушлыми дельцами. К сожалению, некоторые из этих бедных парней приходили ко мне, когда было уже слишком поздно «выдергивать вилку из розетки», и самое большое, что я мог для них сделать - это ремонтно-восстановительные работы и попытка как можно скорее зарыть эту «могилу для денег». С другой стороны, на рынке есть множество самозваных «экспертов» и «консультантов», которые берутся решать сложные комплексные вопросы, слабо представляя, как это делается. Эти люди могут нанести не меньший вред, чем нечестные или неопытные брокеры. В любом случае, для начала убедитесь, что вы нанимаете опытного консультанта с хорошей репутацией, глубоким образованием и отличными рекомендациями. Просто веселый «мистер хороший парень» или пляжный бездельник с соседней лодки – это явно не то, что вам нужно. Будьте также очень осторожны с консультантами и судостроительными инспекторами, если их блестящие рекомендации даны владельцами верфей, представителями которых они работают. Я имел довольно неудачный опыт работы с некоторыми верфями. Им не нравились мои профессиональные знания, строгая проверка всех элементов, материалов и отделки судна. Это часто приводило к спорам, поскольку я настаивал на своем. «Или доведите эти элементы судна до изначально оговоренного состояния, - говорил я, - или я не подпишу сертификат поставки, подтверждающий, что яхта построена в соответствии с нашими нотариально заверенными строительными спецификациями. Владельцы и директора некоторых верфей не раз пытались подкупить меня (деньгами или подарками вроде дорогих часов, шикарными уикендами «все включено» и т.п.), чтобы я не сообщал владельцам о некоторых отличиях реальной лодки от ее исходной спецификации, на которых верфь хотела сэкономить. «Ладно, - думал я про себя, - пусть попробуют. Но я не тот человек, к которому можно обращаться с подобными глупостями».

В результате некоторые из директоров и владельцев верфей угрожали мне или моим супервайзерам убийством, обещали «происшествия» во время инспекционных туров на их верфи. Это ясно показывает, что профессиональный и осведомленный представитель владельца – не самый желанный гость на некоторых верфях. В его присутствии судостроители не могут играть в свои глупые маленькие игры, подменяя согласованные технические решения или материалы на более дешевые, менее качественные или на «аналогично выглядящие». Даже надзор со стороны классификационной компании во время строительства лодки - не гарантия, что все будет прекрасно. Компания смотрит на материалы и методы строительства в целом, и, если все отвечает их правилам, они счастливы. Но их, например, не интересует, правильно ли установлено окно – главное, что само оно куплено у правильного производителя. Я осматривал новые яхты с сертификатами высшего класса для корпуса и оборудования от известных классификационных обществ. Так вот, правила этих обществ запрещали стороннему инспектору проверять корпуса и механизмы яхт без рекомендаций от все тех же обществ. Возникает вопрос: многого ли стоит такой сертификат? Конечно, есть несколько очень профессиональных верфей, которые точно знают, кто к ним пришел и что он знает об этом бизнесе. Понимая это, они не будут даже пытаться делать какой-то Monkey Business. И вообще, махинации не их стиль, так как они действительно гордятся своей работой и продукцией, которую поставляют. Но я знаю в мире лишь горстку топовых верфей, которые правильно работают, строят сказочные яхты и доставляют клиентам действительно то, что обещали. Разумеется, это не самые дешевые верфи, поэтому к обещаниям типа «мы построим вам яхту, точно как XYZ, но за меньшие деньги» всегда нужно относиться предельно внимательно. Как говорится, если вы платите орешками, готовьтесь иметь дело с обезьяной. Даже производственные показатели верфей мало что значат. Многие компании гордо публикуют данные об общем объеме построенных яхт, обходя вниманием вопросы к их качеству. Безусловно, есть области, где можно сэкономить существенные суммы. Скажем, выбор технических систем, двигателей, генераторов или интерьера. Но эти предложения должны исходить от вашего консультанта, имеющего опыт работы с подобными вещами. Если же ваш «консультант» появляется с блестящими рекомендациями от какой-то непонятной верфи, можете быть вполне уверены: он или у них на содержании, или не имеет понятия, на что надо смотреть при выборе лодки, и сотрудники верфи здорово повеселились, общаясь с ним. Яхтинг может быть отличным способом провести время с семьей и друзьями. У меня было 11 личных яхт размером от 45 до 105 футов. Я жил и плавал на некоторых десятилетиями, и это было, действительно, самым лучшим и расслабленным временем в моей жизни. А Пхукет с его островами, погодой, едой и в большинстве своем очень дружелюбными людьми – одно из моих любимых мест для мореплавания в мире. Но, так или иначе, прежде чем выбрать яхту, как способ провести часть своего драгоценного времени и потратить с трудом заработанные деньги, убедитесь, что вы нанимаете профи. Обращайтесь к опытному яхт-брокеру с хорошей репутацией - и он поможет вам преодолеть трудности и «минные поля» на пути к успешному яхтингу. Счастливого плавания!

King’s Cup Regatta in Pictures

or three decades the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta has been the pinnacle of international regattas in Asia. The King’s Cup is dedicated to HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, a man with a deep passion and a long history of support for the sport of sailing. This year, despite the devastating loss of the beloved King, the event was held with great success. This year the competitive classes included Keelboats, Multihulls and International Dinghy Classes.

Every single participant from sailors to organisers, local and international, joined in 89 seconds of silence in mourning of the passing of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the opening of the event, 3 December.

From then on there was five days of beautiful boats and exciting races.

After a lot of excitement and some very competitive performances the Thai team in the Platu One Design class walked away as winners of the CPO1 class. Wiwat Poopat and his Royal Thai Navy 1 incredibly managed to win all seven races over the course of the week! The overall winner of IRC0 was Kevin Whitcraft with THA72, finishing six minutes ahead of the closest competitor. The IRC1 class was won by Yasuo Nanamri’s Karasu, the Japanese team fended off Mandrake III to take the honour.

Phuket King’s Cup honours were bestowed upon April Jorgensen’s IRC2 team after a week of top performances. First place of the Premier Class went to Ithinai Yingsin and second place to Pine-Pacific.

Neil Avre and Java Racing were successful in the Pulse 600 Racing Class with Andrew Hurford and Phantom V taking the prize for the Multihull Racing Class. Multihull Cruising Class victory went to Kimiya Shimizu of Ying Yang.

In Open Charter, Vladimir Oleynikov and team Popeye were victorious, whilst compatriots on Snapdragon skippered by Igor Ginzburg won Bareboat Charter A. Finally, in the Cruising Class, Jianquan Tong and Asia Pacific Atom won class honors.

All-in-all the performances lived up to the legendary status of the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta, there were some great showings and a great deal of respect. The organisers will be proud of the event, worthy of the great King.

King’s Cup Regatta: Как это было

от уже три десятилетия King’s Cup Regatta на Пхукете держит планку самого престижного соревнования в Азии. Как известно, King’s Cup посвящена Его Величеству Пхумипону Адульядету, уделявшему особое внимание парусному спорту. Несмотря на огромную утрату всего народа Таиланда в 2016 году – смерть Его Величества Короля Пхумипона Адульядета – престижная регата Его имени все же состоялась и прошло с большим успехом с 3 по 10 декабря. В этом году в различных дивизионах состязались однокорпусные яхты, многокорпусные лодки и динги. Все участники состязания почтили память Его Величества минутой молчания на открытии регаты 3 декабря, после чего 5-дневная зрелищная гонка была объявлена открытой. В классе IRC 0 в этом году команда Кевина и Тома Виткрафтов одержала победы в семи гонках из восьми. В IRC 1 борьба была более напряженной. Лучшим по итогам восьми гонок стал японец Ясуо Нанамори на лодке Karasu. Следом в турнирной таблице расположились Ник Бернс на Mandrake II и Адам Гослинг на Yes! Jessandra II. Россияни Евгений Никифоров на MegaZip закончил регату шестым из десяти. В IRC 2 победу одержала Эйприл Йоргенсен на Judy, следом расположи-

лись Роберт Пфайффер (Farrgo Express) и Белинда Купер (Senga). В классе Premier победу одержал экипаж тайского шкипера Тхиная Йингсири на Pine-Pacific, финишировавший в первой тройке с самого начала и до конца регаты. Среди катамаранов Firefly 850 Sport лучшим стал Джон Ньюнхэм на Twin Sharks. Среди Pulse 600 первое место занял Нил Эйре на java Jachting. В классе Platu One Design традиционно доминировал экипаж ВМФ Таиланда во главе с Виватом Пунпатом. Их лодка Royal Thai Navy 1 финишировала первой во всех семи гонках. Среди гоночных катамаранов (класс Multihull Racing) первое место занял Эндрю Херфорд на Phanton V. Россиянин Кирилл Сташевский на Galeforce занял пятое место из 12. Среди круизных катамаранов первое место досталось японскому яхтсмену - Нориказу Арай на Minnie. The Search for One’s Potential Philipp Graf Von Hardenberg

O

ne of the best motivational trainers and education experts I have encountered is Sir Ken Robinson. You should watch his Youtube film: “Changing Education Paradigms” or TED Talk: “Do schools kill creativity?” I think he is spot on.

Last month I wrote about “Happiness – the Key to Life!” Besides healthy bodies, balanced minds and good hearts, which are essential for happiness, I believe people need to be in their elements as well to be able to be truly happy.

Humans need to be in their element like fish in the water.

We are all different and that is wonderful.

We have different talents, interests, passions, and as we discussed in one of the previous columns, bring all these strength with us to Kindergarten and Primary School. Then we are tought what is important in life. You have made it, if you make it to university – but not learn

skills in vocational schools, if you become a doctor – but not a midwife, if you become the prima ballerina - but not a company dancer, if you are a university professor – but not only a teacher – a plantation owner – but not a simple gardener. Why are we always setting these high expectations for our children?

How can kids ever find out, what their element could be? We continuously tell them that they are not good enough in whatever they are doing. We tell them all their life what to do.

How to do it. We set priorities for them. We plan their days and nights – their entire lives.

And at the end of their school lives we are wondering, why most young people are without orientation. Graduates are desperate, because they need to decide what to do now. They study and shortly after they started, they break up. They are scared of their futures instead of absolutely excited to take the next step towards finding and settling into their elements.

You probably heard about the primary art classroom, where a group of six year old children were painting. In one of the last rows was a little girl, who usually was not very attentive, painting in deep concentration. The art teacher walked up to her and asked her, what she was painting. The girl answered: “I am painting a picture of God.” The teacher

answered: “But nobody knows how God looks like” The girls said: “Wait a moment, then you will know.”

Children have confidence in their abilities and we should support them instead of continuously showing them, that they are not good enough at what they do. Let them explore their talents and creativity, otherwise they will lose their confidence in themselves.

Ken Robinson writes in one of his books that if you ask children in Kindergarten or in the first years of primary school: “Who is creative?” all hands will fly up. If you ask the same question in College, most hands will stay down.

If you want to help your children, start at home to take them serious. Show an interest into their passions – whatever it might be.

Encourage them and support them. Might it be painting, dancing, fishing, acting, swimming, playing with dolls or spending time at their computers, all of these and many more activities are important for them to experience, to find out for themselves how far they want to go with them.

And if you take your kids to the beach or the forest, don’t plan several kilometer long walks where they have to drag along, allow them time and space to explore the elements so they can make the first steps finding their own element.

дин из самых убедительных гуру в области мотивации и систем образования, которых я встречал в жизни, - Сэр Кен Робинсон. Вам стоит посмотреть его лекцию «Меняя парадигму образования» (Changing Education Paradigms) или выступление на конференции TED на тему «Убивают ли школы креативность?». Мне кажется, он отлично разбирается в теме. В одной из прошлых колонок я писал на тему «Счастье – ключ к жизни», в которой выразил мысль, что для счастья нужно здоровое тело, сердце и сбалансированный разум. И все-таки есть другие элементы счастья. Человек должен находиться в своей среде - как рыба в воде. Все мы разные и это замечательно. У нас разные таланты, интересы, увлечения и, как я говорил ранее, всем этим багажом мы наделены еще в детском саду. Затем нас учат тому, что важно в этой жизни. А по окончании университета от нас ждут больших и значимых достижений. Но как ребенок может решить, что для него важно и чем он хотел бы заняться в жизни? Мы постоянно говорим детям, что они недостаточно хороши в том, что делают. Навязываем свои установки, планируем их распорядок дня за них. Почему же мы удивляемся, что по окончании школы или университета наши дети абсолютно дизориентированы? Выпускники зачастую впадают в отчаяние, ведь они не знают, что им делать дальше. Они боятся будущего вместо того, чтобы сделать уверенный шаг навстречу своему призванию. Приведу в пример одну историю. В художественном классе

начальной школы девочка, которая не отличалась вниманием и усидчивостью, неожиданно для всех очень увлеченно начала рисовать картину. Когда учитель спросил девочку, что именно она рисовала, она ответила: «Я рисую Бога». На что учитель возразил, что никто не знает как выглядит Бог. Тогда девочка ответила: «Подождите и узнаете». Эта история хорошо иллюстрирует тот факт, что у детей достаточно уверенности в своих способностях, которые мы должны поощрять, вместо постоянных «тычков» в то, что они делают недостаточно хорошо. Позвольте им исследовать свои таланты и креативность, иначе, в конечно счете, они потеряют веру в себя. Кен Робинсон, которого я упомянул в начале, пишет: «Если вы зададите вопрос «Кто тут самый креативный?» в детском саду, то увидите лес рук. Если спросите то же самое в школе или колледже, то не увидите ни одной поднятой руки. Если вы хотите помочь вашим детям, начните воспринимать их всерьез. With TBD, no problem at all. Previous projects of the company, such as Nai Harn Beach Condominium (NBC), Naiharn Condominium (NC) or Palm Oasis Hotel have been handed over in time and with great success.

The second most important aspect - legal issues. Thai law provides two options for foreign investors: total long-term lease 90 years (Leasehold) and full ownership (Freehold). Since Mai Khao Beach Condotel is a condominium, either option is possible. Leasehold is currently represented by up to 90 years. The current scheme is as follows: the original contract is for 30 years, with two extensions possible, but the country’s authorities are considering the possibility to start the contracts off at 90 years.

«The first option - Leasehold 90 years with the right of inheritance, resale and rental comes with the full registration in the Registration Chamber of the Land Department and all other privileges. Plus, a lease for 90 years does not require a declaration in the Russian property abroad. It also does not exclude the same rights as full ownership «- states Protasov. In the case of the second option, Freehold, the apartment can also be used as bank collateral.

Another point, of which few are aware, is that when buying real estate for 10 million baht, the buyer is entitled to a permanent investment visa for them and their families. TBD in particular are experienced in developing properties with this in mind - «our company guarantees the buyer, and all family members, open and free registration for a continuous investment visa allowing for permanent residence in Thailand» - sums up Protasov.

Однако в большинстве случаев весь анализ заканчивается после пересчета цен в рубли. Девальвация 2014 года отнюдь не позитивно сказалась на уровне входного билета на этот рынок. Mai Khao Beach Condotel, строящийся на одноименном пхукетском пляже, выделяется из общего ряда тем, что сочетает инвестиционную привлекательность и доступную входную планку.

Обзор проекта

Mai Khao Beach Condotel – восьмиэтажный жилой комплекс на 320 квартир с богатой инфраструктурой, включающей девять бассейнов, ресторан, кафе и бар, фитнес-центр, детский клуб, парковку на 160 автомобилей. Кондотель расположится в окружении пятизвездочных отелей, таких как JW Marriott, Renaissance, Centara Grand West Sands, Holiday Inn and Anantara. В настоящий момент застройщик приводит следующие цены: 36 кв.м. – 1,5 млн бат, 53 кв. м. – 2,2 млн бат, 72 кв. м. – 3 млн бат. «Изучив рынок недвижимости в районе пляжа Май-Кхао, мы пришли к выводу, что можем гарантировать, что в ходе строительства цены поднимутся минимум на 100%, а квартиры будут пользоваться большим спросом у инвесторов для сдачи в аренду через управляющие компании», – говорит директор по продажам Игорь Протасов. В подтверждение этих слов девелопер предлагает гарантию доходности в размере до 12% на пять лет. «Мы с уверенностью заверяем, что это самые низкие цены на Пхукете в лучшей локации», – добавляет он.

Инвестиционная привлекательность

Отвечая на вопрос о том, какой параметр критичен при оценке недвижимости на Пхукете, многие специалисты сразу говорят, что это – имя девелопера. С послужным списком у TBD проблем нет. Предыдущие проекты компании, такие как Nai Harn Beach Condominium(NBC), Naiharn Condominium(NC) или Palm Oasis Hotel были сданы в срок. «Гордостью нашей компании является завершение проектов в срок без задержек и согласно контрактам, в то же время сохраняя дизайн и качество европейского уровня. Еще один момент, о котором знают немногие, заключается в том, что при покупке недвижимости на сумму от 10 млн батов, покупатель получает право на инвестиционную (ПМЖ) визу для себя и членов своих семей.
