CT FM Cooking Tips Podcast Is Live! Brought To You By: RecipeThis.com

Welcome to our first ever Podcast for CT FM. I would like to first explain who we are and why we have created this weekly Podcast. My name is Samantha and when I moved in with my boyfriend when I was 18 years old, which was back in 2000 I couldn’t cook. I couldn’t boil an egg, make an omelette, cook a chicken and I didn’t even know how to cook a stir fry. All I could make was the unhealthy things that you were taught to make at school. Therefore my cooking abilities were limited to cheese sauces, macaroni cheese and a few types of biscuits. Hardly what you would consider to be wife material!!! I remember my mother saying a few years previously that I better marry a chef as I was a lost cause. I think for me, it was a case of my mum cooked everything and as a teenager we are often lazy and don’t want to learn. Then I met Dominic and we moved in together and you guessed it……his day job was as a chef. He taught me how to boil an egg, how to check if a chicken is cooked, how to make a better cheese sauce (as it seemed my version sucked) and best of all how to make the most amazing roast potatoes. I was also incredibly nervous about cooking for him because when you are rubbish at something you hardly want to do it for a professional. At the same time I watched loads of cookery shows. There was Jamie Oliver in his early days as The Naked Chef, Gordon Ramsay just establishing himself on television and Ready Steady Cook where celebrity chefs had 20 minutes to cook something nice. I also had a huge range of cookery books and self taught myself. Now in 2016 and 16 years later Dominic and I have been happily married for 13 years. I can cook, I do more cooking than Dominic and I love to cook everyday. I feel like something is missing if I go a day without

cooking something. My freezer is full to bursting with meat and fish, my fridge is full of fresh vegetables and my cupboards are full of herbs and spices. So it is no surprise that in the back end of 2015 that we started a food blog and through Cooking Tips FM (CT FM for short) we will be sharing our love for food with you! What To Expect From CT FM Podcasts I always wonder if Podcasts had been around in 2000 what I would have wanted to hear. What did I need to learn first and what would have given me a passion to run straight into the kitchen and cook straight away! The answer is the chapters that will run in each and every weekly Podcast:      
