CORE VALUES
BALANCE CREATIVITY WITH EXECUTION We are at our best when we find a productive tension between individual creativity, team collaboration, and structured execution of our goals.
PASSION FOR LEARNING We love to recruit smart people and encourage an enthusiasm and energy for improving every aspect of what we do, whatever it is. We improve not just to attain our business goals but simply for the fun of doing it better.
ACHIEVEMENT WITH FLEXIBILITY We are demanding of ourselves as individuals and as an organization. But we find no conflict between this and valuing our employees as members of families and members of communities. We achieve our goals with a seriousness of purpose balanced with humor and a sense of humility.
6
THE LONG VIEW This is an optimistic company that enjoys taking calculated risks. We look forward to long-term profitability and accept short-term sacrifices to that end. We have a healthy confidence in our capabilities.
OUR SWEET SPOT Our sweet spot is when we combine leading-edge database technology, logistics, industry expertise and customized solutions.
PARTNER AND COLLABORATE We enjoy investing in long-term relationships with our clients. We partner with our clients to solve problems and prefer co-creation and joint problem solving to simply executing instructions.
WE DO THE “RIGHT THING We hold ourselves to a high standard of ethical behavior both internally and in how we face outwards in the business community. We see no conflict between business success and doing the right thing. 7
HIGH-PERFORMANCE CULTURE At KCIC, our strong, positive corporate culture impacts our clients and also contributes to a rewarding work environment for our team. But don’t just take our word for it. See how we put our values into action. Along the way, you will learn about the many ways we foster an environment that rewards high performance, fosters continuous learning, and creates opportunities to come together in efforts to “give back” to our community.
WORK Driven by an unmatched passion for client success, our people utilize strong quantitative or technical backgrounds. We offer significant opportunity for advancement within the company, supported by the tools necessary to succeed as well as useful ongoing evaluations.
PLAY KCIC offers a collaborative, energized environment where, simply put, we enjoy working together. Not only are projects team-based with opportunities to interact with all levels in the company, but we have an active social events calendar, participate in sports leagues, and celebrate company successes and milestones together.
SERVE KCIC staff has the chance to be part of something greater than the workplace. The KCIC Cares program is an ongoing calendar of events the KCIC team participates in. DATA RECONSTRUCTION

It’s common for organizations to have volumes of data from a variety of sources stored in multiple locations. To make matters worse, this data is often “dirty”— field names are inconsistent, similar data is in different formats, information is missing and so on. This leads to a lack of a comprehensive understanding and an inability to use the data to guide decision making. KCIC excels at transforming disorganized data into clean, accessible information that can be leveraged to solve business challenges.

Once an acquisition is complete, KCIC will partner with necessary stakeholders to craft strategies that maximize the value of insurance assets and manage the liabilities. KCIC aims to help companies make better sense of information to make the best possible decisions for their business.

KCIC helps alleviate the uncertainty associated with these transactions by providing comprehensive, reliable valuation of both the potential liability and available insurance assets.

BRANDGUIDELINES
THE MAKING OF OUR MARK KCIC LOGO ORIGIN This icon shows the energy and motion associated with delivering effective strategies. Each layer of this interwoven design speaks to a profound process through which previously unconnected information becomes a useful tool in solving the most complex business issues. KCIC’s team of experts purposefully manipulates raw data in a holistic, efficient manner, creating an informed basis for decision-making. We make sense of chaos. The intentional placement of “KCIC” behind the icon represents our support, partnership and advocacy for clients. “Be Certain” is the KCIC tagline. Ultimately, it expresses the benefit that our clients derive from working with us — no matter what industry they are in or why they have turned to us. KCIC provides certainty in a climate of opportunity and risk.
28
THE LIGADO PLATFORM The logo’s type treatment and color palette reference the parent brand, KCIC. Most prominently, the shape of the “O” in Ligado mirrors the hexagon in the KCIC logo — representing the blend of The Ligado Platform (technology) and KCIC (expertise). The smaller, scattered hexagons represent disparate data sets. At the intersection of the larger and the smaller hexagons, the colors merge — representing the intersection of normalized data with KCIC’s subject matter expertise.
COMPLEXITY SOLVED This graphic represents the process by which we make sense of overwhelmingly disorganized data. Each step of our process aligns a crucial component to a complex scenario. As a result of our efforts, our clients can ultimately make decisions systematically and with certainty.

Many companies require regular forecasting of future liabilities. The uses vary from internal reserving, to insurance recoverability analyses, to SEC reporting. Forecasting future liabilities for mass torts is inherently uncertain, but KCIC has the tools and experience necessary to provide certainty of process and approach. EVALUATING ASBESTOS AND OTHER MASS TORTS Forecasting asbestos and other mass torts is critical for estimating liabilities, exploring insurance asset settlements, and projecting policy cash flows. In addition, mergers and acquisition activity requires forecasts to ensure that risks are accounted for, and courts rely on them to evaluate reorganization plans and post-bankruptcy viability. to understand one of its most important assets—insurance policies. Without considering the quantity and quality of insurance assets, and the manner in which a company may respond to liability, it’s impossible to evaluate the financial implications of your exposure to mass torts. By stress testing the gap between forecasted liability and available insurance, KCIC supports better decision making by management, investors and courts. ALIGNING COVERAGE WITH RISK Claims arising out of product liability, environmental contamination, asbestos, medical devices, construction defects and other exposures have taken a significant financial toll on companies. The potential litigation can threaten to stifle innovation and calculated risk taking. KCIC’s consultants have worked with clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including organizations facing bankruptcy. KCIC offers deep experience in presenting and defending forecasts in a variety of contexts, as well as preparing critiques of forecasts prepared by others. Our approach is rooted in expert data mining, analysis and modeling, as well as an understanding of actuarial techniques, demographic and epidemiological studies, industry trends and tort reform developments in key jurisdictions. Through technical expertise and in-depth knowledge, we can help you accurately forecast exposures and take steps to mitigate that risk.
