Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley on a steady diet of punk and glitter rock, Prima Donna are infamous on the LA scene. Their curriculum includes musical road trips with Eddie and the Hot Rods, Adam Ant, Glen Matlock & The Philistines, The Dictators, and even Green Day, who they supported on two arena tours on two continents. Frontman Kevin Preston has also continued participation in Green Day side-project Foxboro Hot Tubs. While touring the US and Europe, Prima Donna was in and out of the studio numerous times, both at home in L.A. and in Milan, Italy. The finished product is “Nine Lives and Forty Fives”, a 11-song variety pack that displays the band’s skills in the studio, and compiles some of their rarest and rawest recordings, including “Rock and Roll is Dead,” available for the first time in US. The song was named one of the Top Ten Songs of 2013 by Little Steven’s Underground Garage.

Since 2000, founder Sam Hillmer has remained its purveying constant, and with the addition of loose-limbed, meditative percussionist Greg Fox (Liturgy, Guardian Alien, Man Forever), and virtuosic avant-classical guitarist and composer Patrick Higgins, the band has found its epochal lineup. The trio’s vision is crystallized on Xe, Zs’ first full-length featuring the new trio, and first proper since 2010’s critically acclaimed New Slaves. Hillmer, Fox and Higgins—three supremely heavy sages who exchange their pulsating phraseology with a mind-blowingly telepathic bent—in one room, nailing Xe in one miraculous live take, manned by Higgins and noted A-list producer Henry Hirsch (Lenny Kravitz, Madonna, Mick Jagger) at the boards in Hudson, New York’s Future-Past Studios. The music on Xe even transcends artistic mediums, influencing renowned visual artist Tauba Auerbach, who believed Zs was examining the same structural concerns as her own work. She created two 3D steel helix sculptures derived from the scientific varieties known as the Z helix and S helix, which were then arranged and photographed in various configurations for the Xe album art. The album’s minimalist, esoteric vibes aligned perfectly with Auerbach’s mind-bending and shadowy metallic sculptures. The artist attests to have never worked so hard on a record cover, nor gotten so much out of doing so, creatively and personally. Like a bat out of futuristic and primal hell, Xe clangs and clatters out of the gate with “The Future of Royalty,” setting a sinister tone with a pummeling march of doomed knob-twiddling electro-shocks. Ghostly transmittals burst through cascades of hyperdistorted serrations on brutal synth twister “Wolf Government,” not unlike the cataclysmic solar systems of composer Ben Frost – whom Fox has also collaborated with. There’s the fractured sci-fi percolations of the electro-sax futureworld of “Weakling” and “Corps”. Xe’s jaw-dropping sonic architecture is manifested on the eighteen-minute title track, a controlled, yet chaotic, ecstatic marathon thick with its trademark crafted quiet/loud heavy repetition, bleeding of tense, throbbing logic that erupt into euphoric explosions. There might be no other way to describe Zs than as the deepest of DIY die-hard spiritualists exploring a genre-defying unheard music free of compromise and commercial leanings. Those aesthetics are illuminated on Xe. “The record starts with an explosion of caustic guitar noise and blazing drums and is then followed by a 7-minute desert of noise, finally, 10 to 12 minutes in you get a pulse,” Hillmer says. “No effects, no editing, nothing done in post, just a snap shot of three guys in a room who worked really hard on some music for a long time. That’s what we are bringing, and we really hope people can get into it, BUT! If they can’t, on a certain level, good. It’s alternative music for people who are seeking an alternative, and with this crisp domesticated indie/EDM work on the rise, there may be more and more people seeking that. If so, y’all know where to find us!”
“One of the strongest avant-garde bands in New York.” - New York Times “Zs play meticulous, exacting music in which no note sounds accidental or hastily arranged. It’s a fact worth keeping in mind as they also seem compelled to scramble everything that ‘meticulous’ and ‘exacting’ might mean.” - Wall Street Journal
“acclaimed New York avant-chamber ensemble Zs [creates] pioneering experimental work...” - The New Yorker “Don’t be hoodwinked by the name – if you’re looking for a band that’s impossible to nod off to, Zs are the fellas” - FACT Magazine (UK)

JIM WHITE VS. THE PACKWAY HANDLE BAND TAKE IT LIKE A MAN
CD RELEASE DATE: JANUARY 27, 2015 When Athens, GA outfit the Packway Handle Band sought Jim White out to produce an album, the quintet learned he had a massive stash of bluegrass songs just waiting to be sprung on the world — and they would make the perfect slingshot. “When I’d heard ’em play a couple of years earlier,” White says, “I muttered under my breath, ‘I wish I could have that much fun playing music.’ When they offered me the chance to produce, I thought, ‘How can I undermine this?’” The answer is Take It Like A Man, the new Yep Roc Records release by Jim White vs. The Packway Handle Band, due out January 27, 2015. Sounding like an ivory-tower academic one minute and a stand-up comedian the next, he explains that term versus addresses the “conflagration of opposing mindsets” as an answer to the question, “What happens when we throw these two unlikely elements together?” The album alternates between White and Packway compositions; only one track, the campy bluegrass rave-up “Corn Pone Refugee,” is a co-write (credited to White and Packway’s Josh Erwin). The first single, “Not A Song,” by Packway mandolinist Michael Paynter, is an infectious, upbeat melody fueled by clever lyrics and la-da-da harmonies. In the hands of White and the ebullient Packway Handle Band, the whole album adds up to a huge dose of fun, with just a dash of sorrow.

GENRE : METAL RELEASE DATE : January 27, 2015 / NO EXPORT SALES POINTS The Body and Thou are bands with Southern roots that have been pushing the boundaries of heavy metal for over a decade. Both have maintained relentless touring schedules, a dedication to DIY ethics and aesthetics, and a commitment to push their respective brands of extreme music into previously unexplored territories. You, Whom I Have Always Hated is a new collaborative release that showcases both bands’ unique abilities to create music that is emotionally effecting and unrelenting. The CD version contains two albums. On You, Whom I Have Always Hated, each band’s distinctive elements shine through and combine to create something more visceral than the sum of their parts. While the groups have different approaches to live performance and stylistic nuances, they share general creative ideas and have a history subsumed in themes of alienation, melancholy, and despair. They describe the new collaboration as “a twilight dungeon crawl exploring the winding, ruined halls of Mad King Duro’s Castle, best friends at your side, enemies crushed beneath your heels, mysteries solved, and treasures found.”
This is not a split release, but a brand new collaborative album from The Body & Thou. CD version contains two albums on one CD. First 500 copies of LP version pressed on clear vinyl Both bands are consistent best sellers with releases going through multiple vinyl pressings In keeping with Thou’s tradition of 90s worship and The Body’s knack for ingenuity, the release includes versions of “Terrible Lie” by Nine inch Nails and “Coward” by Vic Chesnutt The Body’s Thrill Jockey debut Christs, Redeemers was praised by Pitchfork, The New York Times, Decibel, Noisey/Vice, The Fader, and SPIN. The album also landed on best of year lists with Pitchfork, The Quietus, All Music Guide, and Cvlt Nation Thou’s 2014 album Heathen was praised by NPR, Decibel, Pitchfork, Metal Injection, Cvlt Nation, and Steel for Brains. The album was on best of year lists with Decibel (#6!), Stereogum, Metal Sucks, and Steel for Brains Seth Mancehster and Keith Souza (Battles, Lightning Bolt, Javelin, The Body) recorded the album at Machines With Magnets The Body & Thou toured together last summer (playing both collaborative and individual sets) headlining Gilead Media Festival. GENRE : ELECTRONIC / EXPERIMENTAL FILE UNDER: “W” Werner, Jan St., “M” Mouse on Mars Miscontinuum Album documents an impressive new work by seminal electronic musician Jan St. Werner, whose innovations with Mouse on Mars and Microstoria are well documented. This album is the third entry in Werner’s lauded Fiepblatter Catalogue series, and features contributions from Dylan Carlson (Earth), Markus Popp (Oval), Taigen Kawabe (Bo Ningen), and Kathy Alberici. Miscontinuum Album is a radical convergence of sound exploration and storytelling that has few precedents. It is a dark gothic electronic work whose dense layers reveal more with each listen. The central concept of Miscontinuum explores misconceptions of time and memory, inspired by unique acoustic phenomena derived digital phasing and musical time stretching techniques. There is an aura of doom that pervades the work. Much of the album’s evocative nature comes from the interplay of Werner’s electronics with Alberici and Kawabe’s voices and the contrast between those organic and inorganic elements. Popp, a longtime collaborator with Werner in Microstoria, wrote the libretti, which is presented in five distinct scenes and recited redolently by Carlson. The surreal plot involves a progressive distinction of time as a force rather than a structuring system, and an individual who can shift consciously between states within that force. The high concepts and unusual creative partners combine for an album that is uncommonly emotionally resonant. “somewhere in between music that makes you hyper-aware of your place in relation to it and something that removes you from thinking about yourself altogether. That split creates a subtle tension at the heart of the record, positioning it as a maze-like structure where getting lost and found become equally gratifying.” - Pitchfork (on Blaze Colour Burn)

Strut return to the archives of seminal Chicago house label Dance Mania in January 2015 for ‘Dance Mania: Ghetto Madness’. The follow-up to Strut’s acclaimed Dance Mania label retrospective ‘Hardcore Traxx’ from early 2014, this new instalment places the spotlight on the raw, stripped back, hyper bpms of ghetto house and the rise of the movement’s fresh generation of stars during the mid’90s including DJ Deeon, DJ Funk, Jammin’ Gerald and DJ Milton. The album tells the story of the evolution of Chicago’s sound during the era as mix tapes circulated through local stores and DJs developed their own underground following, playing local parties in the projects. Crowds began responding to faster bpms and gangsta rap-inspired X-rated lyrics. As DJ Deeon remembers, “it bridged the gap. It made it OK for guys in the ghetto to like house again and it brought the women onto the dancefloor too.” Dance Mania was perfectly positioned to capitalise on the new sound – many of the DJs came regularly into Ray Barney’s record store and, as Chicago’s most trusted and respected label owner, he was offered the best tracks for commercial release at an early stage. ‘Ghetto Madness’ brings together some of the underground classics and enduring favourites that earned Dance Mania the title of ‘Ghetto House’s Motown’. Tracks include DJ Deeon’s party-starter ‘The Freaks’, raw DJ Funk cut ‘Computer Sex’ and Nina Kraviz favourite, Paul Johnson’s ‘Give Me Ecstacy’. Other featured gems from the archive include the dark early Steve Poindexter outing ‘Computer Madness’ and Tyree’s in-demand jam, ‘Nuthin’ Wrong’. ‘Dance Mania: Ghetto Madness’ will be released in 1CD unmixed, 2LP and digital formats. Physical formats are fully illustrated in raw ghetto style by James Wilson and also feature CD a fold-out poster featuring an exclusive James Wilson illustration featuring the Dance Mania DJs as tattoos!

"Nedi Myra" was one of the first house albums I bought, or at least that´s what I THOUGHT it was. Weird futuro-bossa and foggy disco-not-really-disco was more like it. And for years I actually thought that was Bjørn on the cover, and that he lived out in the woods with his guitar... tsk tsk.” (Todd Terje) LISTEN: https://soundcloud.com/smalltownsupersound/sets/bjorn-torske-trobbel/s-UdL2I https://soundcloud.com/smalltownsupersound/sets/bjorn-torske-nedi-myra/s-Kbqdd OVERVIEW: CD, 2xLP, reissues, remastered by Helmut Erler at Dubplates & Mastering INFO: Smalltown Supersound is proud to announce that it is re-issuing the Holy Grail of Norwegian dance music, the first two albums by reclusive cult innovator from beyond the Arctic Circle Bjørn Torske.

With the Norwegian disco movement having given birth to many international dance stars, now is a perfect time to go back and re-evaluate these brilliant records, that provided the inspiration for a wave of producers in their wake. With all of Torske's album discography now with their natural home Smalltown Supersound, the label can finally feel complete. Debut album “Nedi Myra” was first released on UK label Ferox and his second album “Trøbbel” originally came out on Telle Records. They have been out print for many years and have not been distributed on any digital streaming sites. Now lovingly re-mastered by Helmut Erler at Dubplates & Mastering, for the first time Bjørn feels that they sound as he intended them to sound. Together with the late Tore “Erot” Kroknes, Bjørn laid the foundation for the disco scene in Norway that gave birth to Prins Thomas, Lindstrom, Andre Bratten and Todd Terje. Inspired by DJ Harvey, Ron Hardy and Idjut Boys, Bjorn Torske and Erot brought underground disco and house/techno (Chicago/Detroit style) to the country, developing their very own style of tripped out dubby disco with their characteristic weird, humorous and psychedelic twists along the way. With Torske as with many auteurs, he hasn’t always got the attention and credit he deserved. He is known for being reclusive, and an outsider, making music on his own terms and not playing by the rules of the record business. All of which has made him the musician’s musician. Torske’s debut album under his own name was “Nedi Myra” in 1997 on UK label Ferox. After that he released a string of singles with Svek label, among them the seminal “Jeg vil være søppelmann”. That translates to “I Want To Be A Binman” in English, which shows who set the tone for Norwegian disco’s particular sense of humour. Also on Svek was the single “Sexy Disco”; cited by Todd Terje as “the first time I listened to disco in a non-ironic way”. "Trøbbel" was released in 2001 and in 2005 he signed to Smalltown Supersound and released the two 12” singles “Kokt Kveite” and “Ny lugg/Kort bak lang på siden” and the albums “Feil Knapp” (2007) and “Kokning” (2009). In 2010 he released “Oppkok” 12” which was remixed by DJ Harvey and Todd Terje, and last year the “Kok” EP with additional material from the “Kokning” album sessions. Get to know the production genius of Norwegian disco’s original Wilderness man.

Vex’d’s Degenerate was the second ever dubstep album, released in the fertile year of 2005, it encapsulated the sound of two musicians inspiring the scene and in return being inspired. Skrillex has cited Degenerate as the album which inspired him to start producing. Before they caused too much damage Vex’d split in 2008. Jamie went on to success under the name Kuedo with acclaimed releases on Planet Mu and Roly Porter released three amazing albums on Subtext records. - - - - 2005 press release: Vex'd are London based duo Jamie and Roly. Initially sharing a love for jungle music, the pair soon developed a thirst for darker edgier sounds: digital graffiti music, however it comes. Emerging last year with the classic 'Pop Pop' (released on Subtext), Vex'd founded a solid reputation for uncompromising music that still manages to shockout genre boundaries. TRACKLIST:
CD1 01 Pop Pop V.I.P. 02 Thunder 03 Angels 04 Corridor 05 Cold 06 Venus 07 Gunman 08 Crusher Dub 09 Fire 10 Destruction 11 Lion V.I.P. 12 Slime
CD2 01 Canyon 02 Pop Pop 03 Ghost 04 Lion 05 Smart Bomb 06 End OF Line (ft. Search & Destroy)
The tracks featured on their debut album exemplify their talent at working twisted rhythms over panic stricken basslines. 'Gunman' is constructed around a particularly demented bass riff that cuts right through the speakers with energetic charge. 'Smartbomb' is a bone-crunching grime instrumental, packed with industrial brutality. Tough, tough rhythms. Vex'd also reprise their first 2 classic singles on Bristol's Subtext label appearing here in their VIP versions. Degenerate features 12 tracks of dark electronic dub and industrial rhythms. Influenced Grime and Dubstep as well as the electronic underground scene - Vex'd have a truly unique sound. Distorted repetitive waves of bass have more in common with early Aphex classics, bleep techno or twisted neurostep drum'n'bass than the rest of the dubstep scene. The rhythms are constructed with Swiss precision: all the correct weightings on the kick and snare for maximum club impact. But it's not all about the club, there's a dark foreboding atmosphere at work here - possibly the first gothic dubstep album? CD and Digital features a special limited edition bonus 6 track CD of Vex'd's first few singles on the Subtext, Planet Mu and Destructive labels.

Scotland's Claude Speeed first came to our attention via his epic 2012 remix of Kuedo's 'Work Live & Sleep In Collapsing Space'. With a history in various bands such as RUSSIA and American Men, his work draws from Scottish post rock, 90s and 00s electronica, American minimalism, noise & drone. After a significant time travelling abroad he relocated to Berlin and released his debut album for LuckyMe, entitled 'My Skeleton'. Now he is releasing his follow-up EP 'Sun Czar Temple' on Planet Mu an epic set of songs that distort emotional songwriting with textured synthetic ambience and computer noise. Dreams on hard disk.
12” A: Traumzeuge Dr. Liz Wilson VIN B: Fret RU Sorry?
The EP opens with the epic 'Traumzeuge', a piece for digitally obliterated piano and plugins taking its inspiration from territories of culture shock and insomnia. Starting with monolithic slabs of SOLAR PARALLAX distortion, the layers of intensity build until eventually dropping out, revealing gentle, warm guitar harmonics and tender vocals. 'Dr. Liz Wilson' begins with twinkling, bleeping arrays of electronics: implied interstellar communication. Warm sinewaves and rising tone clusters build up into a rushing wind tunnel of s|||| ESCAPE TIME FRACTAL||ound. Hidden drums, ghost choirs, and geometric cryptophasia arpeggios disappear into chaos. An Adrián Villar Rojas memory of terraforming and futuristic DMT ruins. 'VIN', serves as an interlude, built on field recordings from a short trip into an empty forest, made with looped tape noises and crushed oneiric chords. 'Fret' draws from a story about an abandoned palace, far away from anything. Initially composed entirely visually in Logic, sound muted, without any timing grid. Dense pitch shifted chords and multiple random effects building into strangely unearthly pop with Ryuichi Sakamoto 80s drums and obscured vocalvocalvocal loops. The final track, and the EP's most epic, 'RU Sorry?' (CITY CASTLE VICTORIES) opens with simple synth 5th interval figures evolving slowly into an enveloping, rippling, cosmic fuzz. building up to near noise, then falling away into blocks of buzzing chords. Distortion appears gently until a smashed out post rock crescendo bursts through. Afterlife / Angels.

Hypercolour proudly present the very first commercial mix compilation from dance music titan, Eats Everything. A mouth watering, two course audio menu awaits you on ‘Fries With That?’, a 130 minute romp through the Eats Everything record box. The Main Course features an à la carte selection of music that’s been floating the boat of Eats AKA Dan Pearce, over the last couple of years, as his ascendency through the ranks of dance music’s top players has been as deserved as it has been rapid. Tunes that have been tried and tested in all four corners of the globe, as the Eats juggernaut has ploughed through countless parties, clubs and festivals, from Ibiza to the USA, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona and back to his home city of Bristol. It’s a mix that showcases his inventive and quick fire style of DJing, always busy on the mixer as he works the tracks like a true burger flipper. Digging deep into his record box, hi-‐lights include entries from scene stalwarts Radio Slave, Herbert and Mr. G, new talent in the shape of Oushe, Decius and Little By Little, and a handful of vintage house from the likes of Flux Mode (AKA Nick Holder & Marcus Turcotte), S.W.A.T. (AKA DJ Rasoul) and Kingpin Cartel. And if you’ve still room for pudding (and hey, who doesn’t) then Eats Everything serves up the Desert, a generous portion of sweet and sticky anthems that have influenced and shaped the Eats sound and style we know today. From his early days DJing in Bristol’s dark and salubrious nightspots, to his regular visits to London’s harder house nights like Trade at Turnmills (RIP), Eats dusts off the vinyl collection to bring us a big whopper of a classics mix. A healthy dose of vintage NYC trax are included here, from The Creator Session, The Kick Junkie, Doug Lazy and Millennium (AKA Jose Nunez), as are a couple of pivotal tracks that point us in the direction of Eats’ techno leanings, namely (LFO man) G-‐Man’s ‘Quo Vadis’ and the raw drum machine vibes of the DBX remix of Robotman (AKA Richie Hawtin’s early 90s alias). Big chunky rollers from Aleem and Mambo keep things swinging, and the whole thing is topped off with the calorific classic vibes of Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley’s 90’s return to form; ‘The Word Is Love’.

“Among this year's most anticipated British releases” NME “Like the Shins back when they still had the spark of youth, but with Superchunk’s playful sass and unrestrained crunch” Stereogum Back in the good old of days of 1990, Color Dream Games released Menace Beach for the then popular NES games console from Nintendo. Imagine skateboarding through a side-scrolling 8-bit world filled with balloons, clowns and disgruntled dockworkers in search of your cute pixilated girlfriend Bunny. It’s from this slightly surreal, esoteric world that this Leeds indie rock revolving cast of local luminaries, headed by Ryan Needham and Liza Violet, draw their name. It’s reference acts as the perfect backdrop to their 90’s American underground and pre-Brit Pop indie; melody heavy, supercharged pop that’s always surprising. After the success of their EP ‘Lowtalker’ in early 2014, British indie label favourites Memphis Industries snapped Menace Beach up with the band’s debut album in mind. It comes in the shape of ‘Ratworld’, a twelve song assault, a journey through a psyche tinged wonderland, documenting moving away and waving goodbye to the fractured rubble of an unhappy lifestyle. On the title, Ryan says “We’ve created our own grubby little Ratworld to inhabit. Everything is better when it’s a bit grubby and broken”. It’s that dreamy sensation of taking comfort in chaos, looking around at the perfect mess you’ve created and feeling deeply content as it’s yours and no one else’s. www.facebook.com/menacingbeaches www.menacebeach.co.uk www.twitter.com/menace_beach

Brandon Santini LIVE & EXTENDED!
Brandon Santini and his great band rip it up... LIVE! The scene is Quebec’s upscale concert venue, le Petit Impérial, on a weekend night in July, in the middle of the exuberant Festival D’été de Quebec. The packed house responds quickly as Brandon Santini and his tight touring band hit the stage with all the raw blues power and impact of the 1970’s-era Paul Butterfield or James Cotton Blues Band. The band feels the energy and responds with over an hour of the hard-hitting harmonica-driven blues that’s been causing fans and critics alike to tap the Memphis-based Santini as one of the most quickly-rising blues stars of his generation.
STREET DATE: 1/27/2015
For Brandon Santini, “It’s all about the vibe of your surroundings. With a great live audience fueling you it’s a lot more inspirational and allows you to give more to the audience.” Singer/songwriter/harmonica player Santini moved from North Carolina to Memphis in 2003 and promptly established himself as a leading musician in the Beale street clubs. He has steadily built his fan base with two previous albums, and tours regularly. His A-team road band of Timo Arthur on guitar and backing vocals, Nick Hern on bass and backing vocals, and Chad Wirl on drums complete this dynamic, exciting set. BILLY WALTON BAND WISH FOR WHAT YOU WANT
ROCKIN’ BLUES AND SOUL FROM THE JERSEY SHORE The Jersey Shore has always been a hot spot for the best in American music. Many local players have learned their tricks going to shows and emulating their heroes. Billy Walton is no different. Since the first time he snuck into a blues jam as a young teenager, he’s been pursuing his craft and perfecting his masterful tone on the guitar. Billy’s talent was recognized by none other than Southside Johnny, the Jersey legend who was one of the founding fathers of the Asbury Park music scene. Billy spent several years playing guitar with the Asbury Jukes. During this time he toured the US and Europe regularily. Of course, Billy was no stranger to the UK blues scene. Before joining Southside, Billy’s music was already being played on the BBC by respected DJ Paul Jones. Since 2007 the Billy Walton Band has been making regular appearances in England, Scotland, Wales, and Germany. TRACKS: With four other releases under their belt, 2014 saw the band connect with award winning producer Tony Braunagel (Phantom Blues Band, Eric Burdon, Trampled Under Foot). Tony jumped at the 01. Part 2 showcases many more artists who contributed to the birth of the genre. The songs come from all parts of the south of the US: from New Orleans via Miami and from Mobile, Alabama to Memphis and Nashville. Many of these then unsung heroes such as Ted Taylor, Joe Tex, Otis Redding and William Bell, went on to have highly successful careers, and this set gives a valuable insight into the music they were making before the big hits started coming. Other artists featured are more obscure as they made only a few recordings before fading from view. Yet singers such as Steve Dixon, George Hughley and Prince Conley made just as valid a contribution to the beginnings of southern soul. The music here combines elements of country, R & B, doo-wop, gospel and blues, and retains the ability to move listeners some 50 years on with its emotional intensity and musical power. Disc 1: 1. ‘Decadubs 5’ is a vinyl-only double-pack companion to ‘Hyperdub 10.4’, the fourth and final CD in Hyperdub’s series of collections throughout 2014 to mark the label’s first decade in existence. Both ‘Decadubs 5’ and its full-length parental set explore the club spaces opened up by house, garage and techno, as viewed through Hyperdub’s singular filters. Side 1 leads out with ‘Lambeth’, a long awaited previously unreleased track by Burial, with an unusually triumphant and compared to recent extended montages - relatively direct 2step feel. This is followed by the low slung tech-garage of Kode9’s ‘Oh’, while on the flip the whole of Side 2 is given over to the lush deep house of Cooly G’s 'Love Again'. Side 3 opens with the fathoms-deep bubbling bass and synth washes of DVA’s extremely psychedelic ‘Monophonic Nightmare’, then Dorian Concept turns in a quirky remix of Martyn’s classic ‘Mega Drive Generation’, which originally appeared on Hyperdub’s fifth anniversary compilation in 2009. Side 4 reveals another classic from the vaults in the shape of Cooly G’s skeletal house cut ‘Him Da Biz’, and the EP comes to a close with energy levels turned up on Funkystepz’s ‘Vice Versa’, a track much in demand since it first appeared on Kode9’s ‘Rinse 22’ mix compilation from 2013.
