Robert Lester Folsom Ode
To A Rainy Day: Archives 1972-1975
Anthology Recordings is proud to make 'Ode ToARainy Day' available once again on the 10th anniversary of its original release. 'Ode' is the first collection of unearthed, unheard material from Georgia's favorite folk hero Robert Lester Folsom. Fans of his 1976 private press grail 'Music and Dreams' will revel in the carefully curated assemblage of mellow gold, including the prescient, potent cuts "See You Later,I'mGone"and"HeavenontheBeachWithYou."
Robert Lester Folsom is a 69-year-old retired house painter living in Jacksonville, FL. In 1976, Lester self-produced and released one album, Music and Dreams, with minimal fanfare. In the years leading up to the release of Music and Dreams, Lester recorded countless songs in various houses, apartments, and hotel rooms using a Sears 3440 two-track reel-to-reel tape recorder. In 2014, Anthology Recordings connected with Lester to collect and release these home recordings on Ode To A Rainy Day: Archives 1972-1975 alongside a proper re-release of Music and Dreams.
In 2024, Lester’s music reached a new audience, primarily listeners ranging from 23-34 years old, largely thanks to a wave of TikTok creations using his song “See You Later, I’m Gone.” In 2025, Lester will embark on his very first US tour with a backing band of young musicians from the Jacksonville areawhobefriendedhimearlierthisyear.
2024 END OF THE YEAR SALE
New West Records is rockin’ in its 26th year of existence. Throughout the course of those 26 years we have had the privilege of working with an amazing set of artists and musicians. Their art has always come first. It all starts with the music and ultimately continues through to the listener. Twenty-five years means that we have released quite a few records. New West has always taken pride in celebrating music in the physical format. Over 90% of our entire catalog has been released on multiple physical formats. With this many releases you can imagine there is a lot of inventory to keep track of and manage. We’d like to thank Redeye for helping take care of our precious babies for the last 6+ years. It has been a privilege for New West to promote and release this music with such a great company. We have always aimed to do so with integrity and so have they.
To celebrate all of this amazing music and the fortunate run that we’ve had over the last 26 years, we’re running a sale on all of the music that we love. We hope that this sale helps you champion a favorite record a little easier or take a risk on something you think your customers will enjoy.

Jerry David DeCicca’s 5th solo album, New Shadows, is a Kafkaesque, avant-Americana meditation, surreal and ruminative, featuring David Hidalgo and Steve Berlin (from Los Lobos), guitarist Jeff Parker, tenor saxophonist James Brandon Lewis, trumpeter Aquiles Navarro (from Irreversible Entanglements), singer Rosali Middleman (Rosali), and composer/sound archivist, Brian Harnetty.
New Shadows peaks into corners where interior and exterior worlds collide, where miniscule revelations can be found in the darkness of ourselves and our community: lost children, unheard prayers, bugs, money, depression, romantic relationships, regret, and Zoom funerals, all become a lens for self-reflection.
The production (by Don Cento and JDD) is modeled after DeCicca’s favorite early 80’s albums (Lindsey Buckingham’s Law & Order, ZZ Top’s Afterburner, Robert Palmer’s Clues, Lou Reed’s New Sensations,) while the songs’ architectures and pathos lean more towards Warren Zevon, Townes Van Zandt, and John Prine - all these record-makers and songwriters are embedded in DeCicca’s DNA, having seen them, and in some cases met them after gigs, when his brain was still developing between the ages of 13-19 years old.
The virtual collaborators are the musicians who kept DeCicca company on his stereo while isolated in his rural town, Bulverde, TX: Brian Harnetty’s Many Hands, Rosali’s No Medium, Irreversible Entanglements’ Who Sent You?, James Brandon Lewis’s Jessup Wagon, Jeff Parker’s JP’s Myspace Beats and Suite for Max Brown, and the Los Lobos discography.
New Shadows isn’t so much about DeCicca’s new discoveries, as it is the penumbrous reminder of what’s always been there.
Released in late 1968, the second Pearls Before Swine record continued to deliver music with a preternatural sense of what the youth of America wanted to hear. One Nation Underground had been a surprise hit when released in 1967 by the hipster free-jazz indie label ESP, receiving an incredible organic response, with continuous underground radio play and sales. Coming from obscurity in Florida into a position of speaking to people everywhere, Tom Rapp and his bandmates felt emboldened to embark upon an evolved piece of record making.
The music of Balaklava strips away the manic, post-garage band diversity of the first album, instead grounding the production around Tom Rapp’s guitar and singing, with the touches of instrumental color all the more dramatic and striking. Producer Richard Alderson utilized breathy sweeps of reverb, sound effects, tape manipulation and spoken word recordings along with an array of instrumental overdubs including banjo, marimba, organ, clavinet, flute, English horn and strings (played by the band along with New York jazz session players Bill Salter and Al Schackman, plus The Fugs’ Lee Crabree and legendary saxophonist Joe Farrell, with Selwart Clarke
and Warren Smith contributing string arrangements) to reach for the universal space sought in Tom Rapp’s meditative, existential songs.
The message writ between the leaves of Balaklava WAR NO MORE is elegantly written. From the implication of the title (Balaklava was the site of the battle at which Britain’s notorious Charge of the Light Brigade resulted in heavy casualties for no visible gain), the epigraph from Santayana, the dedication to Pvt Edward D Slovik, (the only US soldier to have been tried and executed for desertion since the Civil War) and the use of Bruegel the Elder ’s “The Triumph of Death” on the cover, the message is plain, without ever being directly stated the world is a beautiful place, but for the scourge of man at war. Musically, the message is conveyed with one or two passing lyrical references, letting Tom Rapp’s use of literary reference and allegory dwell on the transcendence of love and pastoral beauty in life, achieving a stinging impact, as much by what isn’t said as what is. This sets Balaklava apart from much of other protest music from the Vietnam era and it has allowed it to age gracefully into the 21st century.

it, Balaklava celebrates 50 years of life in stunning fashion. Original producer Richard Alderson has remastered the album, restoring the precision of the original mix and in the process, revealing fantastically dynamic performances and dispersing the haze of the years that had gathered over latter-day editions of Balaklava. The music and message it intended to deliver to the world are still needed, the peace still sought. The fight to understand and to change is still ongoing. And so, Balaklava has fresh purpose, after all this time.
Tom Rapp passed away while this album was being readied for re-release. While he spent the majority of his life working as a lawyer who practiced humanist, equal-rights law “60s law”, as he put it for the benefit of many underrepresented people, his name will best be remembered and will forever be synonymous with the music of Pearls Before Swine. We are grateful to help in pushing this music forward toward the eternity it deserves. It goes without saying that this anniversary restoration of Balaklava is dedicated to Tom’s memory. May he rest in peacefulness, and live in the positivity that Pearls Before Swine bring to all who hear their music.

The Return Of Tomorrow is Fu Manchu’s first new album in 6 years, and they made sure that it was worth the wait. Their 14th album is their 1st double LP of new material and it was conceived of as a vinyl listening experience The first LP features 7 songs in their iconic heavy fuzz sound including the first single, “Hands Of The Zodiac” and the relentlessly catchy “Loch Ness Wrecking Machine.” The second LP sees the band mellowing out with 6 slower tempo jams including the synth inflected “Solar Baptized” and the title track Both LPs are 45RPM for the thickest possible sound. CD listeners need not worry, as this version of the album was mastered specifically for the format.

THE GROUNDHOGS BLUES OBITUARY
(GOLD VINYL)
OUT JANUARY 3RD 2025
Limited to 500 copies on gold vinyl, contains download also. The second of three ground breaking albums by the ultimate power trio who morphed blues into hard rock and spawned punk. A much-loved opus with a side-long concept piece. A bona fide inspirational rock classic. “Tony McPhee has turned to anarchic paranoid battlegrounds of the mind for inspiration,” Melody Maker. And a second side that delivers the mighty ‘Cherry Red’, McPhee’s take on The Beatles’ ‘A Day In the Life’, a sideswipe at junk food and a glorious interpretation of John Lee Hooker’s ‘Groundhogs Blues’. “Both musically and lyrically, ’Split’ speaks for a lost time, a nomad time when ideals took to the hoof and musicians stayed on the road rather than confront the fact that the '60s 'war' had been lost.” Julian Cope // “Murky, fuzzy, and wisely esoteric.” AllMusic. // “Supercharged, fractured and raging.” MOJO // Remastered and packaged with bonus tracks on the download (out-takes from the original sessions that spawned this spontaneous monster).
World Of Echo inaugurates a series of reissues by Japanese guitarist, Naoki Zushi. Best known for his stellar contributions to psych folk group, Nagisa Ni Te, Zushi has had a parallel career releasing solo albums that spotlight his exultant guitar playing. Originally released to CD only by Shinji Shibayama of Nagisa Ni Te’s Org imprint in 2018, IV has Zushi playing and writing at a peak, its six songs slowly unfurling with a kind of paradoxical understated grandeur.
This is psychedelic guitar music at its most paced and considered, yet given to flights of inspiration, and in this respect, Zushi sits within a lineage of guitarists who’ve used their instrument both as textural anchor and improvisatory tool – think Phil Manzanera, Robert Fripp, Roy Montgomery, Grouper, even Tom Verlaine. Zushi locates moments of deep emotional resonance amidst luxuriant textural and melodic exploration.

Brown Spirits are from Melbourne, Australia. Their stripped down and tight musical unit is a trio (think Cream or Hendrix!) of raw bass, drums and shared guitar/keyboards meets the D-I-Y attitude and punk/post-punk intensity, giving them a unique hi-octane sound.

vinyl debut of the billboard #1 bluegrass album & best bluegrass album grammy® winner
FEATURing production & guitar BY JASON ISBELL Includes "drinkin' alone," WRITTEN BY FORMER STEELDRIVER CHRIS STAPLETON
"Their playing is magnetic" —NPR
"the group has rarely sounded more focused or passionate" —american songwriter
The SteelDrivers are more than the launching pad for Chris Stapleton’s career and the home base for multi-talented musician and songwriter Tammy Rogers: they’re an ever-evolving group of seasoned veterans who have reinvigorated bluegrass by mixing in their individual influences and histories. Stirring Southern soul, Nashville country, deep blues, and wooden-church gospel into bluegrass, The SteelDrivers created a hybrid old as the hills and fresh as morning dew.
Over the past 20 years, The SteelDrivers have become one of the biggest names in progressive bluegrass. A er racking up four Grammy® nominations, the Americana Music Association’s Emerging Artist of The Year and IBMA’s Best New Artist, e Muscle Shoals Recordings took them to the next level, winning the band their first Grammy® Award and landing them another #1 album on Billboard’s Bluegrass chart.
In every way, e Muscle Shoals Recordings was a major step forward for the group. Former bandmember Chris Stapleton contributed a new song, “Drinkin’ Alone,” and longtime fan Jason Isbell showed up on a few tracks as co-producer and guitarist. The core of the SteelDrivers stepped up as well, with even richer and more evocative songs and performances that cut deeper than ever. It sounds like an album that should have always existed on vinyl but somehow never did. Until now.

THE PSYCHEDELIA ON TRANSLUCENT FIRED
SHOULD HAVE TURNED INTO MAJOR STARS. DESPITE THE FACT THE BAND S SECOND AND FINAL ALBUM, “ALL THE GOOD THAT’S HAPPENING,” PARENTED NO WINNING SINGLES AND ISN’T QUITE AS POTENT AS THE FIRST DISC, THE PLATTER REMAINS TERRIBLY UNDERAPPRECIATED. TRACKS SUCH AS THE MOODY STUPOR OF “ON THE PLANE” AND THE PING-PONG PULSATIONS OF “LEMMON PRINCESS,” WHICH CARRIES A CHAOTIC CIRCUS-LIKE AIR, ARE DECORATED IN PSYCHEDELIC DECALS, WHILE “TWILIGHT SANCTUARY” FEATURES SOME HARD-DRIVING HARMONICA BLOWING CHAINED TIGHT AGAINST GIDDY BLUES ROCK JAMMING.
THE BAND’S BLUES INFLUENCES ADDITIONALLY PREVAIL ON HONEST RECYCLINGS OF JIMMY REED’S RASPY-THROATED “LET’S GET TOGETHER” AND BUFFY SAINTE-MARIE’S CANDIDLY CRYPTIC “CODINE,” ALONG WITH “FLASHBACK (THE RHYTHM THING),” A RETOOLING OF JOHN LEE HOOKER’S “CRAWLING KING SNAKE” THAT MORPHS INTO AN INTENSE BOOGIE WOOGIE INSTRUMENTAL. A COPY OF MANFRED MANN’S “THE ONE IN THE MIDDLE” WEIGHS IN AS ANOTHER BLUES BASED ITEM, AND “TO TRY FOR THE SUN” IS A STARK AND HAUNTING FOLK BALLAD.
SNAPPING GUITARS, COMPOUNDED BY STRONG AND SOLID HARMONIES GIVE THE ALBUM A STRUTTING GARAGE ROCK EDGE, WHERE SMATTERINGS OF OFFBEAT ARRANGEMENTS AND CURIOUS EFFECTS ZONE IN ON THE FREAKIER SIDE OF THE LEAVES. TO CALL THE ALBUM TRAILBLAZING WOULD BE STRETCHING THE TRUTH, BUT THERE ARE ENOUGH AMUSING AND EXCITING IDEAS TO KEEP LISTENERS AWAKE AND INTERESTED. PERSONNEL ISSUES, PAIRED WITH LACK OF PROMOTION PREVENTED “ALL THE GOOD THAT’S HAPPENING” TO BE HEARD, RESULTING IN THE END OF A BAND THAT DIED ON THE VINE (PUN INTENDED) WAY TOO SOON.

WHITEY MORGAN & THE 78’s MAKE IT TO THE TOP SHELF OF BLOODSHOT’S BAR.
NPR may not be the first place you’d think to go for snarling, blood-on-the-tele country music, but they sure got it right when faced with Whitey Morgan & The 78’s: “Staying close to the sound and subject matter of classic outlaw artists like Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and David Allan Coe, Morgan is poised to lead this hard-worn brand of country to the next generation.”
More than a decade after we let this record loose, millions of Yellowstone viewers heard “Bad News” as delivered by Whitey Morgan & The 78’s from this here album. We suspect more than a few of those folks will be compelled to drink straight from the source and hear more of what they love. It’s also not a stretch to say the rest of country has caught up with what Whitey Morgan was puttin’ down in 2010. Anyone listening to Chris Stapleton and Jamey Johnson will find a familiar friend right here.
As for us, we like to think of their Bloodshot debut as the birth of Altlaw Country and 15 years later it’s earned the Barrel Select designation as one of the best damn records we’ve got. As such, this new pressing is on Bloodshot-red vinyl and now includes a replica of the Whitey Morgan & The 78’s Holiday Whiskey Extravaganza gig at Chicago’s Cobra Lounge.

LUKE WINSLOW-KING FLASH-A-MAGIC
Bloodshot is proud to welcome acclaimed folk-blues singer/songwriter Luke Winslow-King back to the label with Flash-A-Magic.
The new album contines Luke’s world-wandering evolution, from Michigan to New Orleans to Spain, absorbing and integrating his experiences and collaborations to create something unique and new.
Flash-A-Magic is co-produced by Tuscan Slide Guitar Maestro Roberto Luti—a founding member of the Playing For Change band who has collaborated with legends such as Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Keith Richards, Ringo Starr, Dr. John and accumulated over 100 million plays on YouTube. His unorthodox, angular and evocative slide guitar style is based on Mississippi and Chicago blues and is infused by soul and African roots traditions and perfectly compliments Winslow-King’s musical ambitions.
The duo’s partnership reaches back more than 15 years to it’s beginnings on the streets of New Orleans, and has taken them to dozens of countries around the world. Their approach to rural and hill country blues contains a certain reverence, a respect, and a bittersweetness not often heard in the modern day. The new album features several co-writes and showcases the unique style and dynamic synergy they have fostered.
“Powerful lyrics & infectious rhythms . . . get ready for a soulful journey” — No Depression
“I’m Glad Trouble Don’t
Last Always” has racked up over 10 million streams
“His inventive, creative composition and songwriting breathes freshness and new life into American musical traditions.” — Americana Highways
title Mosaics; Pieces of Stone
The sole album from male-female duo Jade Stone & Luv is a lost gem from the heart of the psychedelic 1970s. A long-time cult item and highly praised in the Acid Archives book This reissue includes a bonus track, extensive liner notes and photos. 600 copies limited edition –multicolored vinyl.
Composed and self-produced in Nashville, Mosaics; Pieces of Stone went unnoticed by the music industry upon release. While almost unknown outside specialist circles, Mosaics has been an underground cult favorite for many years. The combination of top-level songwriting, skillful guitar/keyboard arrangements and soaring vocals is just too impressive to ignore. And beyond these obvious qualities, the album has something subtle and unique, a magnetic power that keeps drawing the listener back. One of Jade Stone & Luv’s earliest advocates was the legendary New York City musicologist and leader of the band Endless Boogie; Paul Major. Here’s a typical Major impression of the music on Mosaics:
"Groovy love vibes thru a prism of jade statues in swinging singles apartment complex action... Cadillac with fuzzy dice, feather boa, lotsa cigarette burns, stale perfumed ashen air. This album in the 8-track player at 5 AM with someone you don't even know passed out in the backseat, as you head to the diner to meet up with an early-bird Lava Lite salesman who deals pills on the side. Bubbly champagne molecules become the plastic vinyl booths in dim-lit dive bars; it's cracker box post-war suburban low-rent psychedelic…"
VICE says: "This might be the greatest record ever made in the USA. It took over 20 years and a Swedish label to bring it out in the open. Go figure. Jade and Luv had the looks, the style and the music to conquer the world maybe now they finally will. This isn’t some ironic retro shit, it’s just real mid-70s suburban lounge psych that also manages to outdo everything that The Doors ever made ”

With distortion pedals and walls of feedback, Apollo Ghosts“Amethyst,” overflows with introspection, defiance, and the frustration of grappling with the world’s ills, contrasting the monotony of daily life with climate anxiety, the rise of autocracies withthe rise of apathy. But throughout, thealbumcements Apollo Ghosts' status as lifelong underground music defenders and eternal optimists. There are plenty of nods to 90s indie rock heroes Yo La Tengo, Dead Moon, Pavement, Guided By Voices, Eric’s Trip, and Built To Spill.
Amethyst isn’t just purple quartz, it’s a talisman that protects you from the the dangers of overindulgence. It turns thought into action. Wear an amethyst crystal, crank the crappy Peavy amp, record an album over a weekend. Bring it to an island, carry it through the forest, and spend the day ripping out invasive plants. Wildfires will still burn and storm surges won’t stop eroding our shorelines, but maybe an amethyst amulet will remindyou tostay awake and keep fighting for a more just world.
Amethyst is the first new music cut to wax from these Vancouver indie rock heros since the mighty and expansive Pink Tiger double LP in 2022. Apollo Ghosts will be touring Germany in March and Canada in the summer of 2025.

Agnes, Queen of Sorrow
In 2004, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy turned to the singing of songs he’d written a decade previously, back around the time he was first breaking into music-making as a way of life. It may have seemed like early days for such retrospective action, as Bonny was but three albums old at the time, but the songs in question Palace songs had been written in a distinctly different incarnation. Besides, short attention spans being what they were, it seemed a good time to get that old repertoire transported into the swiftly burgeoning B’P‘B universe (a la Danzig, who successfully brought Misfits songs into the Samhain set).
And suddenly, that was twenty years ago! Today, a fresh repress of the too-long-OOP Greatest Palace Music vinyl again reaches out to the folk of another other place and time with an opportunity, if they dare: imbibe this rich brew, trusting that the passage of time will work the music through your ears and into your soul. Future you will be all the much more so for having done it.
For the time between is an alchemical All: where Palace waxed raw and minimal, recorded DIY, Greatest Palace Music was smooth and mellow, a grand example of maximal Nashville production assembled with homespun care. While working with Mark Nevers on his previous Master and Everyone, Bonny had realized that this kind of music making was possible – and so he bid Nevers assemble The Greatest Palace band, and thus Eddie Bayers, Stuart Duncan, Mark Fain, Mike Johnson and Hargus Robbins were booked. They were aided and abetted by Andrew Bird, Dave Bird, Jack Carneal, Tony Crow, D.V. DeVincentis, Duane Denison, Colin Gagon, Ned Oldham, Paul Oldham, Aram Stith, Matt Sweeney, and William Tyler, alongside the voices of Todd Brashear, Mary Feiock , Cynthia Hopkins, Ann McCrary, Iris Nevers,

Together the many and sundry make an an awesome sound, bringing the songs in from the yard and showing them hitherto unseen places in the Palace, behind doors perhaps closed to their younger selves. Hearing it today will sound different than hearing it yesterday. May it always be!
Comprised of bits and pieces of former traditions, Greatest Palace Music inaugurated a new Bonnie ‘Prince’ tradition, that’s still growing, in which the plunge is taken on a catalog of songs associated with a favorite singer. See/hear subsequent Drag City-released albums with Bonny singing phases and stages of The Everly Brothers, Merle Haggard, Susanna’s Sonata Dwarf Mix Cosmos, and his own Wolfroy Goes to Town, as well as trading ‘blind date’ covers of a variety of different songwriters with Bill Callahan on Blind Date Party. Owing to the early career achievements of Bonny ’s predecessory alter-ago ( Palace Brothers/Songs/ Music), there’s a playfully incestuous air afoot on Greatest Palace Music, but never in the name of anything other than communal expression to entertain via music.
As with the original 2005 pressing, Greatest Palace Music features three sides of music plus an etching on the fourth side from legend Edwin Pouncey, aka Savage Pencil. In this case, the musical question, “Why fuck with tradition?” is addressed again, this time with a delightfully non-rhetorical, super-functional answer.
Take it as you will Greatest Palace Music remains fully committed, steeped in a great regard for tradition and the desire to experience those songs again, in an altogether different moment of life.

Info:
Subsonic Eye are enraptured by nature On their 2021 album, Nature of Things, the Singaporean ve-piece explored the tolls of human indulgence through raw tonality and zippy jangle pop, poignantly celebrating the spirits of a natural world fast disappearing But on their fourth full-length All Around You, Subsonic Eye expand this relationship to nature with a renewed appreciation for its coexistence with urban cities The hectic character of urban life refracts through snappy, invigorating hooks, prisms of entrancing tone layered with singer Nur Wahidah’s restless, velvety lilt
All Around You’s lead track “Yearning” unravels the band’s religious dedication to the idea that nature is all around us, that we are whole with it Sung over a nimble guitar melody and tension-building rhythm, “dunk my head into waters / wake me up fully new now” arrives in direct reference to Wahidah’s newfound perspective that we over indulgent humans can still nd a harmonious balance with nature
The ten songs that comprise All Around You also comprise a space to sit with the complex feelings inspired by this intense world we inhabit Rather than succumb to doom, Subsonic Eye relish the opportunity to meditate on these uncomfortable emotions to nd their way to the ultimate realization that beauty is all around us

'All Around You' proves that connection to nature, to a lover can be a profoundly potent force -Pitchfork
The breathlessness of “Circle” and “Performative” (the latter a contender for one of the tracks of the year it’s beautiful) conjures the feel of cars rushing around junctions or streets bustling with people -Bandcamp Daily

Wulansih PeniCandraRini
The Indonesian composer and performer, Peni Candra Rini, who specializes in traditional, neotraditional, and experimental music from Java releases her new album Wulansih via New
The Indonesian composer and performer whose musical practice encompasses a wide range of traditional and experimental Javanese styles, announces her new album Wulansih via New Amsterdam Records. Kronos Quartet's David Harrington, a frequent collaborator of Rini, recently called her “one of the world's greatest singers”, and on Wulansih she places her voice in conversation with a wide array of experimental and traditional musicians, including Andy McGraw, Lester St. Louis, Shahzad Ismaily, John Priestley, Curt Sydnor, and many others. Produced by Ismaily at New York's Figure 8 Recording, Wulansih creates a world all its own.
The 8 songs on Wulansih exert a deep sense of spiritual calm and act as, in Rini’s words, “a reminder that you are still human, listening to expressions of other humans.” Her music is deeply inspired by the poetry of Rumi and Hafez, Wayang Kulit (Indonesian shadow play), and Serat, the tradition of Sufi thought in Central Javanese court poetry. Rini says that Wulansih aims to “express my inner feelings, my soul, to provide inspiration to younger Indonesian composers, and to introduce Indonesian new compositions to new global audiences.”

DarianDonovanThomas ARoomWithManyDoors:Night
Darian Donovan Thomas (he/him), the composer, multi-instrumentalist, and interdisciplinary artist lauded for his “bright, fresh and, in the best sense, innocent” musical approach by Steve Reich, and whose music is “a loud, sometimes overwhelming, yet always vivid, wash of harmony” (Vanessa Ague), announces his debut album A Room With Many Doors (August 2, 2094), a collection of songs that morph between hyper pop, noise, and ambient palettes, via New Amsterdam Records.
A Room With Many Doors is a dizzying, kaleidoscopic, and epic narrative journey of self discovery that meets the listener at the end of a series of “experiments in heartbreak”. The songs on ARWMD explore questions of introspection (“what do we want to return to? Do we want to return to one person in particular, or do we want to return to an older version of self? A more stable self?”) from multiple angles. Darians virtuosic sense of scale and texture, as well as his lyrical vulnerability make ARWMD a record that invites multiple listens and explorations. He is joined by an impressive cast of collaborators including: Alfredo Colón, Ben Chapoteau-Katz, Kalia Vandever, Taja Cheek (L’Rain), and Phong Tran.

Masters at blending a range of classic references, from underground disco to Fleetwood Mac, and making it entirely their own, the band’s drive to continually evolve as songwriters, producers, and performers is witnessed across the album’s 10 glorious new tracks Lead single ‘Human After All, is the perfect introduction - a feel good, sultry groover, bedecked with italo-y arps, infectious piano hooks, and drenched in Balearic beats.
Their first album in five years, ‘Any Signs of Love,’ delivers everything fans expect from a band of their calibre whose catalogue has built a loyal, multigenerational following and is equally at home soundtracking sweaty basement clubs, and outdoor raves, as it is on huge festival stages. From the anthemic ‘The Revolution Will Not Be Anything’, to the Italo-eque title track, and the psychedelic fruitiness of ‘Not Too Late’, Any Signs of Love contains all the core ingredients of the Crazy P magic: grooves galore, hooks, and the electrifying vocals of charismatic leader, Danielle Moore
