hat a great season we had! We started and ended strong. With an overall record of 8-9, we are quite proud of our team, especially since we played against a number of really great teams. We learned a great deal and also had a lot of fun! We developed quite a bit during the season, We as coaches tried to do drills that focus on the basics so we could improve on our skills both individually and as a team. With the various drills we did, we saw vast improvement among many of our players.

COACH’S LETTER We appreciate many members of the team playing positions that they are not accustomed to. Throughout the season, we needed to make adjustments in the field and in the lineup and we admire your flexibility to move around wherever necessary. Many of you thrived in these new positions! Thanks to all of you for makng this season successful and fun. We truly enjoyed working with all of you throughout the season and wish you all the best in softball and in life!

i! My name is Kristen Sciallo and I am 14 years old. I've played softball since I was about 7 years old and I've played just about every position. My main positions are pitcher, center field, and 3rd base. I've been pitching for about 5 years now and I'm mostly self taught. I love pitching because it really challenges me to be mentally and physically tough while teaching me to be a leader. I play on a travel team with the Long Island Surge and we travel to tournaments almost every weekend, all over the island. The word team, to me, means family. My teammates are always there for me, they pick me up, they help me out, and they are always people to confide in. I definitely would not be the player I am today if my teammates didn't push me to try my hardest and tell me to never give up. I have yet to decide whether I want to play college softball, but I plan to play high school softball until my senior year. In college, I want to major in forensic analysis and minor in psychology, in future hopes to become a behavior analyst. My family is definitely my biggest supporters. They work with me when I need it and they give me the pressure I need to become the best player I can be. I always encourage younger kids in my community to try playing softball because it is a game of fun, challenges, strength, and it tests your mind to become stronger and stay tough through difficult points in the game. I love to play softball and I hope, one day, to coach a little league or travel team and pass down my knowledge and love for the game to those who appreciate it.

o me the word team means family. This team has helped each other out on and off the field, always thinking positive and are great friends to everyone. This team has taught me to be supportive no matter what and always have a positive attitude. My family has helped me tremendously by providing me with everything they can to try and make me into a better player and person on and off the field since the very beginning. It would be nice to pursue softball into college. I could make my community better by volunteering and getting our youth softball programs even stronger and try to influence as many young girls to play softball. I’m not quite sure what I want to do in life, but I definitely want to help people as much as possible.

i! My future goals are to attend college to get a degree, to be successful. The word team means you learn to work together with different people. The team has influenced my life because they are friends that I will never forget and they made softball a fun experience. My family has helped me throughout my life because they push me to do my best and have always been there to support and believe in me. I plan on playing softball in college because I enjoy being part of a team. I like to volunteer to help people and to make my community a better place to live.

y future goal is to become neonatologist. To me, the word “team means a group of people who have each others back. My team has influenced me to enjoy the game of softball. My family has helped me become the person I am today by teaching me to think of others before myself. I do not plan on playing a sport in college. I can make my community a better place by reaching out to people and showing compassion.

y future goals include playing softball for the next two years and beginning college. I’m currently considering a major in Spanish or Chemistry. The word team makes me think of a family that wins and loses together. I also believe that a team is there for each other and works well together to “gel”. This team has influenced me because I have a new family that showed me how to work together and have fun at the same time. My family has helped me become the person I am because they always have showed me how to share, cooperate, work hard and be kind to others! I’m not sure if I’m going to want to play softball in college. I’ve always thought about it. Right now, I’m just enjoying playing for the Tigers!
