 “ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones." Proverbs 3:5-8

the obituary of 

Evangelist

Patricia Ann

Paige 

 Patricia Ann Paige was born on May 27, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan

to Mary Magdalene and Luther Koger. Pat was the only child to this union. She matriculated through Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Finney High School in 1971. Pat went on to attend college at Wayne County Community College, Wayne State University, and Ross Nursing Center where she earned her nursing degree. Pat worked as a registered nurse for 31 years. She worked at various medical practices and joined the DMC family in 2012 through July 2018 when her health began to fail. Pat received Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young adult at Iconium Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Melton Perkins. Pat later joined New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Alphonso West where she served as the choir president. Years later she joined New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Willie Price where her mother and her only son joined her. Shortly after, Pat received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Pat witnessed and won many souls to Christ as she ministered inside and outside of church conducting revivals, preaching and teaching God’s Word as an evangelist. In September 2001 the Lord lead Evangelist Paige, Mother Paige and Deacon Paige to The Open Door Church of God in Christ- Detroit under the leadership of Administrative Assistant, Superintendent Pastor Alan R. Evans Sr. The Lord continued to move Evang. Paige higher in Him at The Open Door, Miracle District and New Hope District. Evang. Paige wore many, many hats. She served as District Chairlady of Miracle District, armor bearer to Lady Evans (whom she loved dearly), evangelist, president of the nurses guild, and many more. She ran many revivals, prayer meetings, Prayer and Bible Study, New Members class, Sunday School, and Open Door’s leadership forums just to name a few.

Evang. Paige was faithful to her church, her family, friends and especially her son Kevin whom she loved dearly. Her leaders could count/depend on her. Oftentimes Pastor Evans would leave Evang Paige in charge while out of town because he was confident that she would be faithful. That’s a servant! Paige worked very closely with her leaders and constantly prayed for them (kept them lifted in prayer). Pat touched absolutely everyone she came in contact with her motherly love. Pat loved the Lord and the people of God and she was lead by the Holy Ghost! Pat went to nursing homes and senior citizens homes never leaving anyone without a chance to give their lives to Christ. Pat shared her years at The Open Door COGIC touching the lives of many - she had a great ministry for the women. Evang. Paige was affectionately called by her church family, Paiges of Life and Paige and Puff. In July 2018 Pat was given a life changing diagnoses with her son and her leaders Pastor and Lady Evans by her side. She trusted and believed God for her healing. She underwent treatment and yet ministered as the Lord gave her opportunity to do so. Pat said the Lord said “this was not unto death”. Naturally, we wanted her healing on this side of heaven but God called her name on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. It should be noted that she stayed faithful and strong in her spirit! She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mother Mary Magdalene and Luther Koger. She leaves to cherish her memory her only son Kevin Lamar Paige of Detroit, MI, one aunt Betty J. Johnson of Athens, Alabama, one uncle Elder James T. Nance (Evang. Freddie Nance) of Chattanooga, TN, many cousins and several God children: Collette Doss, Lakeshia Murphy, Mellissia Gadson, and her miracle babies, Darius and Daria Haywood. Her church family Pastor Alan R. Evans Sr., Lady Shernetta Evans, and The Open Door church family. She had a special love for her daughter Katrina and family who affectionately called her EP. It goes without saying that Evangelist Patricia Ann Paige will be missed by so many. We celebrate and rejoice that she has gained her crown in glory. Hallelujah! II Timothy 4:6-8 “For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing”. |5

In Memory of You

Mom To my mom, my best friend, my shero, my disciplinarian, and “road dawg”. Thank you for how you taught me, corrected, molded, and put so much in me. I will do my best to never let you down, because I’m your legacy. In every thing I do, I seek to give God the glory as you showed me and to make you proud of me. The road ahead was too much for you to travel, but God knew what was best so I understand. But what keeps me going is when the trumpet sounds...I will see you again. Rest on mom. I’ll see you in the rapture. Your loving son, Kevin

Shared Love What can I say, you came into my heart and shared the love of a mother to me when I was broken. You then encouraged me to go forward in who God has created me to be. You helped channel my fears, emotions and past hurt into a path of light for others. As my heart is broken because you went away, my spirit rejoices because you are home at last. Gone but never forgotten Trina
