Until We Meet Again Those special memories of you will always bring a smile if only I could have you back for just a little while. Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to, you always meant so very much and always will too. The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain but you’re forever in my heart until we meet again. Love your sister Regina A light from our family is gone, a voice we loved is stilled, a place is vacant in the home which never can be filled. We have to mourn the loss of one, we would’ve loved to keep but God who surely loved her best has finally made her sleep. After a lifetime of her love and joy and music to fill our ears God leaves these wondrous memories to help us through our tears. Love Patrick

I can no longer see you with my eyes, touch you with my hands but I will feel you in my heart forever. Love Mikey

Come To Me God saw you were getting tired so He wrapped His arms around you and whispered come to me, with tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away, although we love you dearly we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating hard, working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Love Nikki & family 2|

LillyDevone The Obituary of

Gaines

We are here to celebrate the life of Lilly Devone Gaines, who preferred to go by Devone or Von was born on January 28,1958 to Robert Simpson and Emma Jackson-Holloway whom proceeded her in death. Lilly was the oldest of two children, Regina Holloway. She attended the Detroit Public School System and graduated from Southeastern and dedicated the rest of her life to being the best mother she could be. After Lilly graduated high school her very first job was a secretary at the Police Headquarters, she had done many jobs and wore many hats; some of the best hats she could have ever worn was of a caring mother, devoted sister, loving grandmother, and aunt in which she took on those jobs with patience mixed with a rumbling in her voice to let you know she meant business. She provided her organizational skill while working for PSJ Production, then shortly after trying her hand in the entertainment business, she went to work for Detroit Public Schools as a Noon Hour Aide until her youngest daughter attended school fulltime then she went on to work for St. John Hospital where that was a short career move, she liked telling others what they should do, she was a born leader. Lilly loved to go roller-skating which her and Regina made a family affair, she grew up very close to her uncles and aunts in which two uncles and one aunt proceeded her in death, she was a grandma’s baby. She was wise beyond her years, which helped her to pass out advice quickly. She was small in stature, but her heart was larger than life. Lilly tried marriage a couple of times but realized that her time would be best spent focused on the Lord and the precious gifts from the union of Gary Cabean and Jose Gaines that they blessed her with. 4|
