June Long Weekend – Saturday 6th to Monday 8th June BROUGHT TO YOU BY BRUMBIES RUGBY

2015 BRUMBIES PROVINCIAL TOURNAMENT

ACT & SNSWRU - Presidents Welcome On behalf of the Board and Management of Brumbies Rugby, I extend our welcome to all participants in the 2015 Brumbies Provincial Championships to be played in Wagga Wagga over the June Long Weekend. Southern Inland will be the host this year and would like to welcome the participating visiting representative teams Monaro & South Coast, referees, match officials & supporters. The tournament has been an outstanding success over the past few years with Southern Inland taking out the title in 2014 with an 11 point victory over Monaro in a dramatic final match. Monaro’s David Akkersdyk was named the player of the tournament. At the conclusion of the Championships a Provincial Team will be selected from Southern Inland, Monaro and South Coast to play a match against the NSW Country Cockatoos. This match will be the curtain raiser before the Aquis Brumbies takes on the Canterbury Crusaders at GIO Canberra Stadium on the 13th June. This will be a midday clash, with the Brumbies kicking off at 3.30pm. Again this fixture for Brumbies Provincial is a great opportunity for players to further showcase their talents and promote the development of rugby within our region. We would like to thank Southern Inland Rugby Union for staging this year’s event at Connolly Rugby Park in Wagga Wagga. I would also like to thank SIRU Rugby Manager Mick McTaggart and President Dave Adamson who has supported Brumbies Rugby in preparing this year’s tournament. I would also like to acknowledge the amount of work that goes into the preparation of the teams by all three participating zone. A lot of time is spent managing the travel distance by all teams for selection, preparation of the team and then the trip to the host ground. I also take this opportunity to thank the referees, coaches, managers and match officials for their support. Good luck to all teams, play hard on the field and enjoy the off field benefits and enjoy your stay in Wagga Wagga. Geoff Larkham - President ACT & Southern NSW Rugby Union
