Artusi’s Granitek sinks are made in Italy. The surface is created when granite and acrylic-resin bond together, creating an excellent finish. After a moulding and firing process the coloured granite particles bond together making the surface highly resistance to cracking, chipping, discolouration or marks. The surface is also antibacterial, meaning germs don’t stick to the surface and linger. The SlideLine M sliding door fitting from Hettich is a system with many applications. Merging into the background, it doesn’t interfere with the design of cabinetry or furniture; and provides an elegant look. As a 1-track overlay option, SlideLine M offers flexibility in kitchen cabinetry and household storage units: doors that slide back and forth can produce an interesting interplay between open and closed segments. Projecting just 8 mm, the profile keeps sliding doors close to the carcase, guaranteeing minimal gaps at either side. Two doors can cross each other within just one profile. Various sets in profile heights of 16, 18 and 25mm provide close-hugging solutions. Furniture can be closed off completely with SlideLine M in the 2-track inset version. For kitchen wall units or children’s bedroom furniture, 2- or 3-door units can be created with ease. The runner and guide profiles can be installed on various carcase-materials as they can be screwed-on, stuck-on or groove-mounted. The Hettich Silent System is discreetly integrated on the running component to move doors quietly. Where several sliding doors run in one profile, Soft Colliding slows them down as they move towards each other. SlideLine M is suitable for all common furniture designs and cabinetry-doors made of wood, glass or aluminium weighing up to 30kg.
Whether in wardrobes, the laundry, or in top-mounted kitchen cabinets, the WingLine L folding door system from Hettich has many applications. Its new “Push/Pull to Move” opening mechanism creates panorama effects, design flexibility and a high level of convenience. Enclosed space is often left unused under stairs and sloping ceilings as well as in alcoves, but this new folding-door fitting provides a way of accessing the complete volume of storage space; and making it attractive. WingLine L is also impressive when used in wardrobes and top-mounted kitchen cabinetry. With WingLine L you can open an entire door-set with just one push or pull – with or without handles. Supporting a door panel in heights of up to 2400mm and widths of up to 600mm, the fitting can open up a large section of the cabinet, creating more usable-space. Nothing gets in the way of drawers and extensions because the WingLine L fitting keeps door protrusion to a minimum; and reliably holds the doors in the open position. Moreover, the fitting can be provided with soft opening and closing for even more convenience. Assembly is easy because the doors can be mounted without the need for tools and the cabinet can be put together by just one person.

This simple fire pit is crafted from high quality cast iron; comes with a versatile fire grate; and is designed for use as an external heater during backyard parties and gatherings. Argon 55x127cm Cast Iron Chiminea, Bronze, KAI50014BRNZ, $405. This medium size Argon chiminea is more than capable of warming you on a cold winter-night. For best results you should fill the bottom of the chiminea body with 5cm of white washed sand. This will give a cleaner burn and longer lasting fire. Forged in cast iron this chiminea will develop light surface rust over time if left in the elements. Includes BBQ cooking grill.
LED lighting system for kitchen cabinetry Installing LED lighting in cabinetry is an effective way of enhancing kitchen-lighting. Due to the low heat-output, the small dimensions of the fixtures, and their long service life, the Loox range of LED lights from Häfele are ideally suited for this purpose. It’s engineered to be easily installed, utilising a “plug-and-play” system. The Loox system includes the following lighting elements: 2020 12V Downlight. Recess or surface mounted downlight, round; suitable for wet areas [supplied with 2m connecting lead]. Dimmable. The LOOX 2020 generates uniform, evenly distributed light and is ideal for atmospheric lighting in all areas. The light can be used in a variety of ways because of the two installation types and three colour temperatures. 2043 12V Striplight. LED flexible striplight, 5m, 300 LEDs. The LOOX 2043 5m striplight with its 300 LEDs has a wide range of decorative application options. It can be shortened every 50mm. The areas of application are many due to the corner and clip connectors. 2045 12V Striplight. LED flexible striplight, 5m, 450 LEDs Dimmable. The LOOX 2045 striplight can be used universally. It can be shortened every 33mm and can therefore be processed in a flexible way. In combination with the aluminium cover-profiles, different diffusers and installation types are available. You can give your lighting effects an individual touch using the corner and clip connectors. 2016 12V Striplight. LED flexible striplight, 5m, 150 RGB LEDs. Bright light sources with changing colours are often in demand for lighting. Dimmable via the RGB colour mixer with remote control; with a maximum 10 colour mixers controlled with 1 remote control. Dimmable. 3001 24V Downlight. A round recess- or surface-mounted dimmable downlight. The prismatic cover provides variable design options with two light colours and two installation types. 3015 24V Striplight. Flexible striplight, 5m, 600 LEDs. Dimmable. The 600 LEDs of the LOOX 3015 flexible striplight generate homogenous and continuous lighting effects. This powerful, flexible striplight is available in three light colours, giving your lighting scenarios an individual touch. They recently finished a project in a riverside home that had experienced flooding. They needed new carpet but wanted it to harmonise with their existing interior design. The Hudson Trombone sprayer can shoot up to 9 metres with 150-PSI pressure for tall coverage; but is also ideal for low growing plants that are in hard-to-reach places. The sprayer operates in the same action as using a trombone; by sliding the dual pump action handles. To use the sprayer place the 1.82m hose into a bucket and submerge it so that the end of the hose will reach the bottom of the bucket. It is a good idea to stabilise the hose to the side of the bucket with a clip in order to reduce sway. Before using the sprayer it will need to be primed by pumping repeatedly; and if you are trying to reach higher areas you will need to slowly work your way up by building up the pressure. To adjust the spray, simply rotate the brass cone nozzle to the desired setting [from fine mist to long-distance stream, multi-directional]. PVC formwork system for constructing loadbearing walls AFS Systems [a division of CSR Limited] recently launched their rediwall® speedy-snap-in™ range for the construction of loadbearing walls. Quick and easy to use, the rediwall® speedysnap-in™ permanent PVC formwork system comes in a range of panel sizes including 110mm, 156mm and 200mm together with the introduction of a clever ezy-fit™ corner panel. These lightweight PVC panels simply snap together by hand and are then ready to be core-filled; you don’t need a formed deck for installation; and it can be done with minimum training. Smeg has chosen its 70th anniversary to deliver its most technologically advanced freestanding cooker: Portofino in eight colours including sunshine yellow, olive green, coral red and burnt orange. Cooktop with integrated fumes extractor Miele’s latest TwoInOne cooktop [$5799] combines induction cooking technology with an integrated downdraught extractor. It allows unobstructed views, making it ideal for open-plan kitchens where overhead cabinets or conventional rangehoods may detract from the overall architectural design. On the 80cm wide cooktop unit the central extractor is framed by two variable PowerFlex zones. This allows the extractor to remove vapours and odours where they originate. The extractor is recognisable only by its grille. Technical components allowing recirculation or vented extraction are hidden in the kitchen cabinet below the benchtop. The TwoInOne features touch controls for both the cooking zones and the extractor. The Woodworkers Company are breaking new ground by stocking panels of traditional hardwood balustrade. “Carpenters hate making traditional balustrade on site”, says Woodworkers business manager Robin Ziejka, “because it’s difficult to get the componentry and time consuming to fabricate. Lead times for customised balustrade panels are commonly 4-6 weeks, so we decided we’d stock standardised panels ready for builders to grab off the shelf”. The new stock panels are all 3-Rail Dowel Cricket Stump design, which is the most popular choice for Queenslander restorations. The panels are fabricated entirely in durable Kwila with breadloaf handrail, all sized at 1000mm high x 2500mm long with child-safe 120mm spacings between dowel uprights. The stock panels, at $260 per panel including GST, are 30% less expensive than custom panels of the same size. The Woodworkers Company are also Queensland’s largest supplier of custom hardwood balustrade, and have a large range of slotted and dowel designs to suit different eras of housing design. “Hardwood balustrade is proven to last for generations” confirmed Robin Ziejka, “Whereas the treated Pine balustrade, often fabricated on site, rarely last a decade. We believe a stock option that’s cheaper, faster to obtain and built to last, will find an enthusiastic market once word gets around that its available”.

Patching a hole in plasterboard Doorknobs, cricket balls and moving furniture can all cause unsightly holes in plasterboard walls around the home. USG Boral has developed a Plasterboard Repair Patch [$6.85] that provides a DIY fix for a very common problem. The easy-to-use patch is made from tough metal mesh and comes in two sizes, ready to cover holes up to 200mm x 200mm. The four stage process is easily tackled as a weekend project and involves these simple steps: Prepare: cut away any loose plasterboard, sand and clean where the patch will be positioned, then wipe the surface clean with a cloth. Apply: the self-adhesive patch can be applied to the plasterboard surface to cover the hole evenly. Finish: spread a thin layer of Total Joint Finish [2kg pack $19.71] over the patch, feathering the edges a further 75mm outside the patch. Allow the compound to dry and then re-apply as necessary, sanding lightly between coats. Paint: once the surface is sanded, smooth and clean, it’s ready for a fresh coat of paint to make the wall look flawless again.

Hearing loss due to industrial noise such as machinery, tools and traffic is one of the most widespread yet preventable workplace injuries. SHOWER UNDERLAY TRAY SYSTEM The new Marmox underlay is a low cost, easy to install waterproof base that can be fixed to timber and concrete floors. Unlike screed the Marmox underlay will not absorb moisture under the tiles minimizing mould growing in grout.

Marmox boards are the perfect complement to any floor heating system, when Marmox boards are installed on top of concrete or timber flooring it will act as high quality tile backer boards minimizing heat loss in the slab, which will lead to 50% reduction in heat up time, cutting running cost, and achieving higher temperatures. Marmox will act as high quality impact noise insulation and a waterproof membrane with proper joint treatment. Marmox Boards are lightweight, easy to cut with a utility knife and fixed to the floor with normal cement based tile adhesive.
