A vibrant area with art galleries and shops, restaurants and bars, historic homes and the University of Michigan Campus.

1 A NN A RBOR H ILLS

Ann Arbor Hills is an expansive neighborhood of homes, ranging from classic tradi onal to mid-century modern, to new construc on. Built from the 1930s to the present, many have been remodeled over the years, breathing new life into sturdy homes of an earlier era.

2 B URNS PARK

Blocks of tree-canopied streets and beau ful old homes set around a historic park and school—as well as its loca on near both U of M’s campus and downtown—make Burns Park one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods.

3 G EDDES H EIGHTS / A RBORETUM A REA

Bordering on the thousand-acre Nichols Arboretum, this neighborhood is on a wooded natural area sloping down to the Huron River. East of the Arb, the streets north of Geddes are lined with large, stately older homes built in the 1920s and 1930s. Perched on the slopes overlooking the river are newer custom-built houses, many in mid-century modern style.

4 I VES WOODS

Technically located within the Burns Park neighborhood, Ives Woods is a desirable upscale community with stately homes. This small enclave features quiet tree-lined streets with large estate proper es in a variety of styles, including Tudor, Contemporary, Colonial, Cape Cod and Ranch. Residents of Ives Woods are not far from Burns Park and the neighboring Burns Park Elementary School, which are both within walking distance.

5 K ERRYTOWN D ISTRICT

The Kerrytown District is a unique blend of neighborhood and business. This historic area of downtown Ann Arbor offers one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants, markets, delis, concert halls, art galleries, Farmers and Ar sans Markets, as well as a children’s museum, all contribu ng to fostering a rich and diverse culture. Visit downtown to shop, dine, and be entertained–and stroll the tree-lined streets of Downtown Ann Arbor and the Kerrytown District!

Home to the University of Michigan’s North Campus, northeast Ann Arbor is a community-centered area with a variety of homes and green spaces.

6 B ARTON H ILLS

Located within Ann Arbor Charter Township and adjacent to the city of Ann Arbor, this community was originally named “Huron Farms”. It was established by the Detroit Edison Company in 1913, and the green hills of Ann Arbor provide a peaceful view for the residents of this luxurious community. The homes in this historical area capture all the simple sophis ca on that this Michigan village has to offer.

7 FOX FIRE

Conveniently located north of downtown Ann Arbor near US-23, Foxfire is a subdivision filled with tree-lined streets and beau ful homes built by Guenther Building Co. in the 1990s and early 2000s. The neighborhood is home to four neighborhood parks, including Foxfire North Park, Foxfire East Park, Foxfire South Park, and Foxfire West Park, plus other nearby green spaces. Foxfire residents enjoy convenient access to the University of Michigan’s medical campuses and the Domino’s Farms Office Park — all of which are just 10 minutes away — in addi on to the Traverwood Library, the Leslie Golf Course and Science Center, and other neighborhood conveniences.

8 N ORTHSIDE SCHOOL A REA

An eclec c mix of homes fills the Northside School Area northeast of downtown, where a community center draws neighbors to its steps and baseball players to Northside Park’s fields. Long known as Lower Town, this portal to the northeast side has some of the city’s oldest surviving houses.

9 O RCHARD H ILLS

Orchard Hills is comprised primarily of 1960s-era ranches and colonials and is filled with families who walk to school, to the neighborhood pool, or to parks via nature trails and sidewalks. Located on the northeast side of town, there is easy access to mul ple parks, businesses, hospitals, and the University of Michigan North Campus. In this neighborhood, you have easy access to Sugarbush Park and the Orchard Hills Swim Club. It also borders the Thurston Nature Center.

10 TANGLEWOOD

Located in Superior Township between Ann Arbor and Plymouth, Tanglewood is an upscale neighborhood with custom homes situated on spacious lots. Built between 1980 and 2000, Tanglewood homes vary in style, including Classic Colonial, Ranch, Cape Cod, English Tudor, and more, many of which feature high-end finishes and ameni es.

S TONEBRIDGE NEIGHBORHOOD

Home to the city’s regional airport, a major mall, golf courses and parks, south Ann Arbor is a residen al area offering convenient access to downtown.

11 G EORGETOWN

Also known as Smokler Hutzel, Georgetown is an established neighborhood with a variety of homes, many of which were built in the 1960s. Styles include Tradi onal, Ranch, Cape Cod and Colonial, ranging in size. The neighborhood is home to the semi-private Georgetown Country Club, which features a 9-hole golf course, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a clubhouse. Residents can easily access downtown and surrounding areas via I-94, which lies just north of Georgetown.

12 LAKE F OREST

Residences in Lake Forest were designed for modern living, with spacious and open floor plans to accommodate today’s busy lifestyles. The beau ful, rolling terrain allows for much daylight and walk-out lower levels. Homes in this neighborhood were built from 1993 to 2001 by several custom home builders. Located in the Northwest corner of Pi sfield Township.

13 S ILO R IDGE

Nestled between Ann Arbor and Saline, Silo Ridge has a convenient loca on and laid-back country feel. Established between 1979 and 1988, Silo Ridge has a total of 126 homes, many of which have undergone renova ons with modern upgrades. Several homes in Silo Ridge back to woodland areas, trails, or parks. Outdoor recrea on abounds with nearby green space, including Sweet Wheat Park and Sweet Wheat Lake.

14 STONEBRIDGE

This community is made up of a few different neighborhoods. They vary from single-family homes to detached condominiums and condominium complexes. The community is surrounded by the gorgeous Stonebridge Golf Course. The en re community is located in Pi sfield Township.

Offering both access to rural and city life, west Ann Arbor is a pleasant residen al area and home to the city’s largest park.

15 ALLMENDINGER H EIGHTS

This neighborhood is considered one of the best Old West Side Ann Arbor neighborhoods. The charming homes vary in age and style, from Arts & Cra s to Tudors and Cape Cods. Many have been restored or remodeled while retaining most of their original features. This great loca on is within walking distance from the University of Michigan’s football stadium and downtown Ann Arbor.

16 D ICKEN

Dicken is a west side family neighborhood with tree-lined streets and modest 1- and 2-story homes. It includes Dicken Woods, a nature area behind the elementary school that was saved from development by neighbors and is now the site of school and community nature programs.

17 EBERWHITE

Located on the former property of Eber White, an early se ler, this neighborhood has a mix of homes of different eras. They are all within a few blocks of Eberwhite Woods, one of the city’s most beau ful, secluded natural areas.

18 LANSDOWNE

This desirable Ann Arbor neighborhood is comprised of tradi onal homes in a mature se ng. Built mainly in the 1960s, with some in the 1970s and 1980s, these spacious homes feature quality construc on on nice-sized lots. Many homes have been updated with modern decor and conveniences, while retaining some of the original features. Lansdowne Park is located within the neighborhood.

19 OLD WEST SIDE

The Old West Side is a historic neighborhood whose architecture, streetscape, and environment are characteris c of 19th-century midwestern America. The homes vary in style and include Mansard, Queen Anne, Romanesque villas, Colonial, Georgian revival, Gothic co ages, and Italian bracket. There are a few new homes, but most structures were built between 1850 and 1925.

20 POLO FIELDS

The Polo Fields consists of three phases: The Fairways at The Polo Fields, The Preserves at The Polo Fields, and The Gallery at The Polo Fields. This upscale community has a great loca on with a feel of country, yet close to everything. All homeowners are offered the opportunity for a social membership in the 36,000-square-foot golf & country club.

21 WATER H ILL

Established in the early 1900s, this beau ful neighborhood is an eclec c mix of architectural styles. A combina on of re red and young families live among lo y hills in houses ranging from Cape Cods to Colonials. They’re not far from downtown and have easy access to both Bird Hills Nature Area and Bluffs Nature Area. The city calls this Sunset neighborhood, but a successful neighborhood music fes val has popularized a new name: Water Hill.
