ll the colors in the world. All nuances, sounds and scents. All flavors. In such a heterogeneous world, we do not want to miss anything. We travel to see monuments, nature, peoples, but also for ambience and emotion. If you ask what we went to “see” in Bali, we could say that we went to “live” an emotion and “immerse” ourselves in an atmosphere. The pinwheel of destinations has for some time been spinning and no one knows where it will stop. There are the disappearing travel destinations and new ones that appear on the travel market like Kurdistan, Kazakhstan and other Caucasian republics, but also the northern European islands such as the Faroes, Svalbard, Lofoten and so on. The difficult choice of “where to go” now even contemplates the often troublesome but fascinating former Soviet republics. If discovery must take place, then so be it, but awesome, something to write home about, fresh. On these pages, we also offer “obvious” destinations: Beijing, Rajasthan and Penang. It seems difficult now, and yet there are still unusual journeys. Indubitably, the world will become increasingly more connected but is, nevertheless, extremely large and varied. Go beyond your expectations with Resorts Magazine!

There is a remote island in the Pacific Ocean, situated in the archipelago of the Hawaiian Islands and once a pineapple plantation. Transformed into a resort, today it has two golf courses about ten minutes apart. A tropical one situated on black volcanic rock and over-looking the ocean, while the other sits on a hill in the interior, where one seems to be in Ireland. Ten minutes apart, ten degrees different but one unique great fascination: golf. Lana’i, more than any other place, always offers new emotions for golfers who seek the best.

S THERMAE RESORT | SIENA
Fonteverde San Casciano dei Bagni
et gently among the magnificent landscapes of the hills of Val d’Orcia, Fonteverde has an identity rooted in the 17th-century thermal residence built by Ferdinando I of the Medici. As soon as you are welcomed to the Fonteverde in San Casciano dei Bagni, you immediately realise that the environment is the image of the place - elegant and refined. The resort & spa is a space almost outside time. Fonteverde mixes hints of the Renaissance and charm without forgetting, however, just homage to comfort and modernity. The plus of Fonteverde certainly resides in its magnificent Natural Spa. The philosophy of the resort proposes, in fact, a vast program of restoration: a successful synthesis between spa culture and Oriental disciplines. The emotional approach to well-being thus involves globally both body and mind of guests. The offer is complemented by the seven indoor and outdoor swimming pools that make it possible to take advantage of the therapeutic properties of thermal waters. The spring water fills the panoramic pools as well as the pools for treatments and relaxation. This intriguing array of experiences continues in the intense atmosphere of the Ferdinando Restaurant. The menu proposed by chef Salvatore Quarto restores the gourmand pleasures of Mediterranean cuisine by combining freshness with lightness. Staying at Fonteverde means forgetting daily routine while taking advantage of a mythical place to listen to silence. Meanwhile, at the end of the day, the eye gets lost while scrutinizing the horizon of the Sienese hills.

There is a powerful charm everywhere, in the joyful religion of the temples inebriated by the perfume of the lotus and jasmine flowers, in the fluctuating multi-coloured saris or in the spicy flavours of the Nawabi cuisine. The eyes are captivated by the beauty of the majestic buildings, by the ancient traces of the past in the royal palaces and the imposing fortresses. India and especially Rajasthan is all this: a dream, a philosophy which conveys to the soul the ultimate essence of living. Elsa Bozzaotra is our correspondent.

Delhi is the city of thousands contrasts, a loud hotchpotch of colours and noises. In the maze of little alleys and streets, where any kind of trade is done, vehicles and swarms of people run and bump into each other in the frantic restlessness of the day. Right beside, there is the other Delhi, the elegant, tidy-looking one, with the monumental palaces of Rajpath ( the King’s Road) where the British hand is clearly visible.

Agra is the place where any traveller’s dream materializes: the Taj Mahal, a faraway mirage of pure-white marble stands out before one’s amazed eyes. This example of perfect symmetry and harmony seems to be laid down on the earth by a divine hand to reveal a message of beauty and love. Yet, Agra is not only Taj Mahal. A few kilometers away rises Fatehpur Sikri, an ancient capital, now deserted, where the spirit of the glorious past is still hovering about.

The magic and evoking atmosphere of Rajasthan reaches its height in Jaipur, ‘the Pink City’. The fine architecture of the red sandstone royal palaces, the astonishing decorations of the halls and portals, the stunning balconies and the inlays disclose the wonders of an enchanted world, the one narrated by Shahrazade in the ‘A Thousand and One Nights’.

n these atmospheric surroundings rises the Radisson Blu Hotel. Beautiful ladies dressed in their bright-coloured saris meet the guest at the reception of the stunning lobby and soon one feels allured by the magic atmosphere of Rajasthan, where even the welcome is a philosophy of life. This top-class resort features 178 rooms and suites all well equipped with modern technology and all sorts of comforts. Among these stand out the Supreme Rooms as the largest in their class in all Jaipur. The culinary offering at the two restaurants is varied: both international and local at the Market Place, where one may request a dish directly prepared by the chef in the interactive kitchen. Those who go for Aisian cuisine will be led into the depths of Indian, Chinese, Thai and Japanese flavours at the Master Chef- awarded Atsui, the best Asian restaurant in India. But the strong point is the amazing roof-top Colorado Bar. Here drinking a cocktail by the pool while the golden rays of the sun-set embrace the “Pink City becomes a memorable experience. 70

Often when reviewing historical photos with long lines of bicycles, one wonders how people were able to cover such distances on two wheels. Eastern Mysteries. The faces we encounter stare at us. They are kind if we ask for something; correct and available. But only the millennials consider us and consider themselves citizens of the world. Those who are over 30 here are Chinese and that’s it - proud of their past and culture. And no one can blame them. Our correspondent, Hasrudin Tazep, went in advance with Susie, one of the expert guides of the well-known tour operator China Highlights.

rom afar the style is indecipherable, a blend of contemporary and traditional Chinese architecture. The entrance, reminiscent of that of a temple, is flanked by ultra-modern boutiques of prestigious European brands. Indeed, in a sense, we are indeed entering a centuries-old and hedonistic temple - the one dedicated to service and hospitality. The Peninsula Beijing today boasts the largest suites in the capital – impressive for an all-suite hotel. The style is unmistakable, and the guests of the Hong Kong Peninsula will not be disappointed. The same dark green Rolls-Royces await at the airport; young bell boys are available to lift any weight for us; and if we insist on checking in at the desk, it will take no more than 3 minutes. The furnishings in the suites are inspired by those of yachts, with frequent contamination of elements of the rich local tradition, designer objects and contemporary artwork. An effective blend that is reflected in the common spaces as well. The effect is that of cozy isolation from the chaotic traffic of the city without feeling estranged, remaining aware of the place.

Regarding relaxation, one cannot miss a stop at The Peninsula Spa, vaguely exotic and meticulous in detail. The menu ranges from Oriental to Western, meeting the demands of its diverse guests. The Biologique Recherche products used in most treatments are in themselves a guarantee. Two restaurants. Jing, whose motto is “Farm-to-Table, ensures fresh ingredients, often something not to be taken for granted in big cities. The kitchen is of Mediterranean inspiration. The decor is contemporary and, at the same time, evocative of the classic Chinese garden. For enthusiasts of the rich Cantonese cuisine, there is Huang Ting, whose rooms recreate those of a noble Pekinese courtyard.

A few points that make the difference: one of the first travel sites in China now in 7 languages, offices in 50 cities, more than 100 employees, the largest tour operator for foreigners, the first Chinese company to permit online payments, the first to be rated on TripAdvisor and the first Chinese tour operator to ban the stops in stores - so much so that if you want the guide to take you on a shopping spree you have to sign a waiver. This is the structure created by Victor Shu. Graduate, former guide, entrepreneur. Victor immediately had a clear vision of how the tourism offer should evolve and consequently invented China Highlights. Victor does not sell merely trips or holidays, but experiences,

In each destination they are furnished the most appropriate means and the best local guides, those who not only know the monuments, but also the place and its secrets. After all, needs are always different as well as the interests of travelers. This explains why this is the tour operator chosen by celebrities. Whether it be the Forbidden City, the Terracotta Army or the Potala in Lhasa, China Highlights is the best solution. But then if you are courageous enough to aspire to the base camp of Everest, there is no problem. The programs offered by this tour operator are fully customizable, assisted by tour designers who speak your language. Forgive us if this is little‌
