it is increasingly important to pause, to take the time to enjoy the moment, to notice and absorb all its details. Take a train trip for example. A full immersion in the landscape. Indulging in fine cuisine and excellent service while the countryside (or towns) scroll past the window.
We experienced one of the legendary trains of the Orient, the Eastern & Oriental, run by the same company
as the Orient Express. From Singapore to Bangkok, travelling through Kuala Lumpur, stopping at the Raffles and at the Oriental. Like in olden days. Like in a dream. Actors and spectators of a vintage film. A film which plays again in other iconic European holiday destinations such as Saint Tropez, Rovigno or

he project is by the WATG and the inauguration goes back to just over a year ago. One of the elements most appreciated upon arrival is the grand window overlooking the sea. The multi-storey edifice rests on a hillside, and the very high window ensures a view of the sea from reception, the bar and the restaurants. The rooms too look out on to the bay. The style is contemporary, already announced by the futuristic covering at the entrance. The spa is, perhaps, one of the most interesting spaces. It is also on several levels, very “gilded”, not exceptionally big, but capable of offering everything one expects in a fascinating and well-maintained ambience. The culinary offer is distributed in two restaurants. The Mediterranean presents a pleasant fusion cuisine of Mediterranean inspiration, naturally, but above all Italian. The Wine Valt, on the other hand, which is the fine-dining restaurant at the hotel, offers French fare. The ambience recalls the spaces of a cellar with vaults and bricks. Having passed the impasse of the wooden menu - heavy to say the least - (where the dishes are illustrated in watercolours by chef Tomislav Gretic) one is gently rocked by a symphony of flavours. To be noted the wine list which boasts over 500 labels, among which many Croatian ones that are certainly worth a taste.

hen you arrive, in the Maserati Quattroporte which picked you up from the airport, the first thing you notice at the entrance are the two large mosaic vases which symbolise Missoni hotels. Walking into the entrance lobby, guests are surrounded by a rainbow of colours which exude a sense of harmony. The suites combine a breathtaking view over the gulf and the city with designer furnishings and Missoni’s unmistakable textiles. Its seems that Rosita has left nothing to chance. Every single detail, material and finishing is submitted to the brand’s iron lady’s critical eye. Careful supervision, decisiveness, considerable patience and tenacity; such are the qualities of the co-founder and creative director of the famous fashion brand. Every Missoni hotel reflects the country in which it is located, and Rosita was inspired by the colours of the sea, creating a palette of endless blues, gold and beige which she then combined with the other colours which are so typical of Missoni creations. In the same way as the kitchen is the heart of Italian homes, the Cucina restaurant is at the centre of the hotel. But it is not alone. At the 18th and last floor, we find Luna, offering a mix of Arab and Italian dishes reinterpreted in a contemporary key. On the ground floor, the Choco Cafè opens out onto a terrace. Inspired by Italy’s passion for coffee and chocolate, which is sold in exquisite boxes, designed by Missoni, naturally. Before climbing back into the Maserati which will take us back to the hotel, we say goodbye to the staff. The large vases and their colourful stripes are still there. The only classical note in a hotel characterised by creativity.

This feeling is reinforced in the Palm Court: an oasis of tropical green onto which roomy suites open out. he timeless trip begins in a country entirely turned towards the future: Singapore. Nostalgia and exclusivity welcome us on a legendary train: the Belmond Eastern & Oriental Express. As soon as we are aboard we are wrapped in the scent of the golden age of train travel. Colonial style. Lacquered wood. Tapestries. Marquetry. Teak panels. The Belmond atmosphere permeates the private cabins and the common area: the restaurant, the bar and the library. Glamour. Exoticism. Legend. Comfort and elegance. These are its features. Find yourself always complaining you’re too busy to get away for a holiday? Then, think again! Malaysia is the sort of place you can visit on a moment’s notice. You can fly to any city in the country in less than four hours from Hong Kong and enjoy an ethnically diverse community. So, I decided to grab the opportunity for a short trip to Malaysia. 總抱怨工作太忙、時間太少；“慾望”太多，預算太少。其實，旅行可以很簡單，領略花樣風情，只需隨 心而行。馬來西亞對我而言，就是可以“衝動”一下前往的目的地，它不僅地點臨近，從香港搭飛機過去不 到4小時，還是個多元民族、文化、宗教共融的繽紛國度。於是我偷得浮生“幾”日閑，去大馬玩了一轉。 Dutch Colonial Malacca 荷蘭紅屋 Steeped in Dutch colonial heritage, the Malacca River Dutch Red House should be your first stop on your cultural odyssey. It was built in the 17th century and is Southeast Asia’s oldest surviving Dutch building. It was originally built by the Dutch governor and in 1979, it was designated as the Malacca Historical Museum. I saw its red walls, white windows and wooden stairs – all full of historic charm. In the nearby Dutch Square, I found numerous distinctive tricycles with their bright yellow bodies covered with multi-colored garlands and moving through the busy streets to the sounds of rhythmic music. Jumping into a car, I continued my tour with its enthusiastic driver telling me all about the local history and stories filled with wonderful anecdotes. It was really a memorable and fun experience. 馬六甲曾為荷蘭殖民地，為了體 驗留存的異國風情，首站便去參觀位 於馬六甲河畔的荷蘭紅屋。它建於17 世紀，是東南亞現存最古老的荷蘭式 建築物。它原為荷蘭總督邸，1979 年起至今，作為馬六甲歷史博物館。 只見它紅墻白窗，木門石階，充滿歷 史韻味。 在附近的荷蘭廣場，見到眾多別 具特色的人力三輪車，車身鮮黃，掛 滿色彩奪目的花環，伴著富有節奏感 的音樂。於是上了輛車，它載著我欣 賞沿途井然有序的街景，熱情的車夫 還跟我講了不少當地的歷史和軼事。 真是一次難忘而有趣的體驗。 RESORTS MAGAZINE

PETRONAS Twin Towers 雙子塔 The PETRONAS Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur are one of the world’s tallest skyscrapers and they are a city landmark. In order to enjoy the breathtaking vistas, I deliberately chose to visit the towers at night. At 452 meters and a total of 88 floors, this is a magnificent experience. They are made of stainless steel and glass and the blue and white lights at night are dazzling. The towers are located near a popular park where you’ll find a lot of open-air bars. I selected one and relaxing with a cocktail, I enjoyed the blissful tranquility in the middle of this bustling city. 吉隆坡的雙子塔曾是世界最高的摩天大樓，也是地標性的 城市景觀。為了飽覽璀璨迷人的夜景，我特意找了一晚前去參觀。 雙子塔高452米，地上共88層，氣勢雄壯。塔身採用不銹鋼與 玻璃等材質，入夜後亮起藍白色的燈光，耀眼奪目。附近的市中心 公園，有不少露天酒吧。我選了一家店，一邊悠閒地品嘗雞尾酒， 一邊愜意地感受這個繁華而寧靜的城市。

Central Market On the last leg of my trip, I visited the famous Central Market, which is located in the central square. This historic award-winning building has been open for over a century and is home to hundreds of shops selling exquisite handmade crafts and unique local foods. The market has airconditioning so the surroundings are cool and comfortable as compared to the open-air stalls which can be hot. I spent a long time scouring for unique crafts which came in handy as souvenirs for the folks back home. 此行最後一站，來到了著名的Central Market,它位於中央廣場，歷史悠久， 開業已近百年，且屢獲殊榮。這裡有過百間形形色色的店鋪，有不少是售賣精美 的民族手工藝品以及別具風味的當地小吃，讓人眼花繚亂。市場還設有空調，相 比附近炎熱的露天攤檔，這裡涼爽舒適，購物環境宜人。我花上了半天時間，淘 到不少別緻的工藝品用來當手信。 RESORTS MAGAZINE
