OK, What's a Druddle?

t first these helpful caring drones were called Cuddle Drones, but a popular young comedian on the web thought it would be funny to call them 'Druddles' and the name caught on almost instantaneously as things will do now that we are all caught up in the World Wide Web. Old people, at first, thought kids were getting Dreidels - those old-timey spinny top toys. But once they saw a Janice and her new friend Druddle they realized how wrong they were… as they often are when trying to keep up with all the new things that are happening. Janice is six years old; happy and a bit precocious. Her parents bought I feel like a Spinning Top or her a Druddle for her sixth birthday. The first Druddle that Janice a Dreidel – Don Mclean bonded with looked like a flying chipmunk, very cute. She called her Druddle "Chippie." Janice’s parents aren’t exactly well-to-do, but they want Janice to have a chance at economic stability, so they made the necessary sacrifices and bought her a pretty capable Druddle. Some parents just want to give their kids a chance. What does a Druddle do? A Druddle is a companion and a protector. It flies around and will come when it’s called. The child who has bonded with a Druddle can see what the Druddle sees. For example, Janice lost her first Druddle when she sent it down to the playground to see if any of her friends were playing down there and also to make sure none of the bully girls were hanging out, waiting to cause trouble. Her little flying Chipmunk was so cute and so fun. Since Janice could see what her Druddle could see she saw her friends Margaret and Elizabeth playing on the swings but she also saw that mean girl Beatrice waiting by the entrance to the playground. Beatrice liked to poke people with hat pins. Maybe her brother was mean to her or something, who knows? Anyways, Janice decided to stay home. As Janice's Druddle Chippie was coming back home from the playground it ran smack into the side of a tripledecker bus, fell into a puddle and got run over by a young man on a motor scooter. Ouch! What a muddle. For Janice, it was simply A Triple Decker Bus...! tragic. She'd only begun to learn how to fly her precious Druddle and now Chippie was... well, kaput.
