Thanks to its exceptional off-road capabilities the machine is capable of moving 9000kg of material at a volume of 4.15m3. Up to a maximum speed of 25km/h

A 55kw 4.4 litre stage IIIB engine is used, it offers 400Nm of torque at 1200rpm. This machine features patent pending stop-start engine technology

GPS POSITIONING BY GPRS Mecalac Capture is an optional extra on all site dumpers. It is connected to the electrics of the machines and allows the monitoring for both machine location and maintenance.

TECHNOLOGY IDEAL FOR RENTAL MARKETS The connection between machine and site managers is essential to help improve eďŹƒciency of the jobsite, as much as it can be used as a deterrent to theft. Mecalac Capture is a new system that has been developed to enable monitoring of machines through a dedicated web portal. The portal allows the analysis of data from machines working on site. It is possible to monitor the working hours of the machine which aids the planning of service engineers, as well as monitoring machine driving behaviour such as speed. All data can be exported and printed.

The Mecalac range of compact articulated dumpers consists of 7 models that vary in size and transmission type. 16 different variations within the range with payload capacity between 1000kg and 10000kg. The range is aimed at the rental market with the added beneďŹ t of the Capture Telematics

The TA9SP articulated dumper has been designed to move as much material as possible in the shortest possible time. All this while maintaining the added value of a skip with 180o rotation, enabling material to be discharged at various angles around the machine. Ideal for filling trenches whilst driving

OVER 60 YEARS OF HERITAGE The Mecalac Dumpers are built in Coventry, England. The origins of the machines date back to the 1950’s, to be more precise the Benford Mark 1 10CWT from 1953. Since then the machines have been refined, expanded with different capacities and the benefits of the swivel skip. The TA9SP is the ultimate model in terms of dynamic ability, combining a low centre of gravity despite having 410mm of ground clearance and excellent approach and departure angles. PRECISION ALIGNMENT A fabricated V ensures perfect alignment of the skip and front chassis. A sensor disables the hazard detection when tipping to avoid unnecessary alerts.

CHANGE YOUR WORKSITE The TA9SP is 2500mm wide, has a heaped volume of 4.15m3, a carrying capacity of 9000kg and can unload on any ground. To move this amount of material a compact loader or excavator would be slower and use more fuel.

Combining agility Compact articulated dumpers are very widespread within England and Spain. The operator is well located on the rear chassis and the load on the front. This driving position means visibility when distributing the load is good.

the front and rear chassis is controlled by the heavy duty upper swing link. Well sealed bearings maintain good working order in diďŹƒcult conditions. These are the 2 important factors that allow the TA9SP to cover any terrain.

TELESCOPIC JOINT Permanent 4 wheel drive is guaranteed by a proven central telescopic prop shaft designed to compensate for the oscillation.

DANA TYPE 112 AXLES The closest points to the ground are the centres of the axles. Underneath the machine is well protected without sacrificing mechanical accessibility.

with manoeuvrability SIMPLE, RELIABLE AND STABLE On articulated dumpers over 20tons the operators cabin section of the machine is the ďŹ rst to hit uneven terrain. On the Mecalac TA9SP, a machine that has been perfected in over half a century of production (First as Benford then as Terex) is simpler and more suitable for a machine with a lower speed. With an oscillation of +/-10 degrees and with the operator on the rear section of the machine they always have a good perception of stability. PLUS/MINUS 10 DEGREES The steering cylinders has one end fixed to the front chassis and the other at the rear chassis with bearings to allow the oscillation.

Housed in the rear chassis is the 4 cylinder EcoMax 4.4L turbocharged engine with common rail fuel injection and a power output of 55kw (at 2200rpm). To comply with emissions regulations (StageIIIB / Tier 4f) the engine uses clean burn technology and exhaust gas recirculation, there is no requirement for exhaust aftertreatment. Engine torque of 400Nm is available at 1200rpm. The maintenance costs are reasonable as is the fuel consumption, which also benefits from patent pending Stop Start technology, with the handbrake applied, when the operator gets up off the seat the engine will stop (when at operating temperature), when the operator sits back down and connects their seat belt the engine will restart.

AUTOMATIC SHIFTING The transmission, made by JCB Drivetrain Systems features automatic gear shifting that was developed and is available exclusively from Mecalac. The system changes gear dependant on the torque requirement at the engine, ensuring the most appropriate gear is selected. The machine features permanent 4 wheel drive to ensure the traction in the worst conditions. The parking brake is a classic disc mounted on the transmission (see pictures to the right).

Optional Hazard Detection HAZARD DETECTION SYSTEM On Mecalac dumpers, even though visibility is good (a man stood upright is always visible), it is possible to specify a radar Hazard Detection system that detects the presence of objects and people at the front of the machine. To alert the operator the system provides an acoustic alarm (Like parking sensors) and a three-level proximity light.

INCREDIBLY DURABLE The sensor has a steel structure and an almost indestructible 6mm polycarbonate front. It can also withstand temperatures between -40oC and 75°C.

THREE DISTINGUISHABLE LEVELS The diagram on the right shows the three levels of detection. The radar is always active (regardless of travel direction). If an object is within the detection zones, but there is no movement of either the object or machine there will be no alert, as soon as the object or machine moves an alert will be given.

ALPHANUMERIC DIAGNOSTICS In addition to the classic warning icons around the perimeter of the dashboard the central display indicates fuel level, engine temperature, engine speed and engine hours. In the case of any engine anomalies the alphanumeric diagnostic code will also be displayed.

UNIFIED KEY For a simple design the Mecalac dumper uses a single key to open the bonnet, the manual compartment on the seat and also to start the machine.

OPERATOR ACCESS With 3 large self clearing steps and 3 large easy to reach handles accessing the drivers station is easy and safe. The high visibility decals help to emphasise the steps and handles.

EVERYTHING AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

On all machines access to engine and service points is important, The Mecalac TA9SP dumper is no exception. Two large side opening doors provide access to the engine and necessary service points (Oil levels, filters etc), importantly these are accessible with both feet on the ground. With low maintenance costs the TA9SP is the perfect materials movement solution for hire companies.

The ECU is mounted inside the engine compartment, protected from moisture, but at the same time it has been kept away from direct sources of heat.

The battery isolator has a key that can be removed whilst servicing the electrical systems of the machine.

Ideal for rental SENSIBLE SERVICE INTERVALS Engine oil service intervals at 500 hours is in line with other compact machines in use on urban building sites, as well as the hydraulic oil change at 2000 hours. The TA9SP is also designed to be able to use biodegradable hydraulic oil, in this case the replacement interval increases. With the use of Mecalac Capture telematics it is possible to plan the machines servicing accurately.
