Dear Research Medical Center Family, I’m thrilled to announce that Jessica Marin – a healthcare leader with outstanding experience and a record of success – has accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer at Research Medical Center. Her first day will be Dec. 1. Jessica comes to us with diverse operational experience gained over the last several years at various HCA Healthcare facilities, including within HCA Midwest Health. She most recently served as COO of Summerville Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare’s Trident Health System, in Summerville, S.C. While there, Jessica led several growth initiatives and oversaw three OR expansions, helping grow surgical volume by 6% and robotics volume by 22%. She also improved employee engagement for her team from 82% to 92% in just a year. Prior to that role, Jessica served as Vice President of Operations for St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where she oversaw various key service lines. Some highlights from her time there include growing the cardiology service line, optimizing throughput that resulted in 30% growth for radiology procedures, and improving PCI quality metrics for the STEMI program and growing STEMI volume to rank 11th within HCA Healthcare. Before joining St. David’s, Jessica spent six years at Menorah Medical Center here in our community, serving first as Director of Business Development and then as Administrative Director of Operations. Among her accomplishments were the establishment of the Robotics, Colorectal and Bariatrics Centers of Excellence programs that grew robotics by 89% in three years and helped improve physician engagement from 28.8% to 87.9%. In addition to her broad experience overseeing hospital operations, Jessica brings 14 years’ experience in medical device sales and further knowledge of the healthcare industry that will serve our team well. Jessica earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Kansas and an MBA with a concentration in Health Care Administration from Avila University. Jessica and her husband, Tony, were both born and raised in Kansas City and are eager to return to their hometown with their three daughters – Ava (16), Grace (14) and Zoe (11) – and dog Banjo. The Marins enjoy spending time with family and friends, and Jessica and Tony are avid sailors who look forward to getting back to the lake. Please join me in welcoming Jessica back to HCA Midwest Health and to our Research Medical Center family. Thank you.

Ashley McClellan, CEO Research Medical Center
