We are inviting intermediate to advanced players of trumpet, trombone, sax, bass, piano, guitar, drums and percussion to join us in a series of tutorials and workshops covering ensemble, improvisation and sectional playing. It’s an ideal forum for those who are teaching (or want to teach) in the jazz idiom either in the classroom or in a big band setting. The weekend is residential, though day bookings are accepted in some cases. Non-playing partners are welcome - please call for details.

Ant Law Trio
The band is a reunion of the Quartet that was in existence for six years from 1996. Its members are amongst the most experienced jazz musicians in the country and the group developed and unique musical identity during its lifetime. Marlene VerPlanck With the Dave Cottle Trio
Marlene VerPlanck started out as a very young vocalist with Charlie Spivak, Tex Benekeand and the last Dorsey Brothers Orchestra. Marlene became one of the nation’s busiest studio singers, backing up vocalists ranging from Frank Sinatra and Mel Torme to Kiss. Brandon Allen & Quentin Collins Quartet With a passion for hard-bop Blue Note recordings, the band pays homage to such luminaries as Art Blakey and Joe Henderson. Trumpeter Quentin Collins has performed with Prince, Jean Toussaint and Roy Hargrove. Australian saxophonist Brandon Allen has worked extensively throughout the UK, Europe and Asia with renowned musicians such as Eric Clapton, Jools Holland and Wynton Marsalis. Berklee graduate, bass player Richie Goods (The youngest person ever inducted into the Pittsburgh Jazz Hall of Fame) moved to New York City, where he studied under jazz luminaries Ron Carter and Ray Brown. Richie made a name for himself through recording and touring with a variety of jazz and popular artists ranging from Louis Hayes and the Cannonball Adderley Legacy Band, Mulgrew Miller, Milt Jackson, to Brian McKnight, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, Whitney Houston, and Christina Aguilera. Richie brings his New York based all-star band to Swansea as part of a European Tour. Richie Goods - Bass, Mike Clark - Drums, Tom Guarna - Guitar, Danny Grissett - Keyboards. Trumpeter Damon player won a Parliamentary Jazz Award for Best Jazz Ensemble in 2007. He has formed international collaborations such as the regular quintet that he co-leads with New York sax virtuoso Steve Grossman. Mike Outram - with the Dave Cottle Trio Mike Outram is one of the UK’s foremost guitarists who is sought after as an improviser and for his ability to contribute a unique voice to any musical ensemble.
