State of the County: Encouraging news for business leaders By Paul Anthony Arco Winnebago County Board Chairman Scott Christiansen delivered his eighth annual State of the County address April 25 at the Best Western Clock Tower Resort in front of a packed audience of 360 business leaders. Christiansen focused on the county’s accomplishments over the past year and his plans for tackling issues of unemployment and crime. This year’s speech was titled “Who Knew?” “We’re involved in so many diverse areas in the county,” he said. “Many

April 22 marked the 42nd anniversary of Earth Day, which came in reaction to a massive oil spill in waters near Santa Barbara, Calif., in 1969.
