The Maine Dance Teachers Club was founded in1950 by two teachers, Ellen T. Cooper and Evelyn Dyer Clark. Every month dance teachers were invited to gather and offer each other support and instruction in a variety of dance styles and techniques. Over time the Maine Dance Teachers Club grew, and the team leaders began to hire nationally known teachers to teach fellow instructors and students at the annual workshops. In addition to the annual one day fall and winter workshops, each year the MDTC offers a two day intensive summer workshop held in Bar Harbor, Maine. This workshop is designed to expose dancers to industry dance professionals as well as fellow Maine dancers. It is also a venue to present new choreography, products and techniques to students and teachers alike..
Miss Emily serves on the board of directors for the Maine Dance Teachers Club and has been attending the workshops with her students for over twenty years. Please visit their website www.mainedanceteachersclub.org for more information or call Miss Emily for specifics about this event. You are not too late to sign up to come with us to Bar Harbor this summer. It is a wonderful opportunity for your dancer to continue her education, meet new dancers and try new techniques! Thank you to Maine Dance Teachers Club for the wonderful opportunity you provide all of our dancers.
