Employee Quarterly News Issue 3 | October 2014
Survey Says.... The results from the second annual Voice of the Employee engagement survey are here! The ATS leadership team had learned a number of things from the 2013 survey and made some changes to address those concerns. The 2014 results reflect progress – the scores for 81% of the items on the survey improved by an average of 4 points. Additionally, many sites substantially improved their sitelevel engagement scores. The employee participation level was also high, with 85% of the eligible employees worldwide responding. This strong level of participation indicates
that our employees care about the future of our company. We are very appreciative of the time and effort that each employee invested in the survey. The work does not end with survey completion, however. Managers and supervisors are now in the process of sharing the results with their employees. Many of you will be asked to provide input, participate in focus groups, or develop projects designed to increase engagement. By working together, employees at all levels will build an even better ATS.

This was a busy summer for our sales and start-up teams! Just counting the three new Georgia-Pacific sites, the US-FMS sales team surpassed their 2014 sales goals already in July. Georgia-Pacific began their relationship with ATS in 2007 as an IPS customer, with ATS Site Service Representatives managing their parts repair programs at several of their facilities. Due to the outstanding service they received, Georgia-Pacific began having ATS provide the full four-walls factory maintenance solution in 2013 at their Sweetwater, TX plant. While GP initially saw this partnership as an experiment, they quickly realized that ATS truly brings data-driven, excellent results to the table. ATS-GP sites are now up and running in Las Vegas, NV; Warm Springs, GA and Lovell, WY. Congratulations to our sales team for acquiring these new opportunities and a huge thank you to all of the employees supporting Georgia-Pacific who continue to deliver outstanding results. It’s because of your hard work that we are able to grow the business and make factories run better.
“The team is doing well and we have a very good customer to work with. We transitioned some great techs and added a really solid group from the surrounding area. We are seeing some real improvements in a very short time. The customer has been very positive about our down time reductions and we’ve received very positive comments on our communications with production.” –Pryor Lindsey, Project Manager
Georgia-Pacific | Las Vegas, NV
“Currently there are 49 employees here – a great mix of talented transitional and new hires at the site. Warm Springs is full of opportunities for ATS to provide service and continuous improvements to enhance the relationship with Georgia-Pacific.” –Rob Kersey, Site Manager

For many years, ATS has been delivering a significant amount of value to customers through maintenance and repair parts inventory management. In fact, nearly 31% of ATS cost savings over the last three years have been a result of ATS maintenance and repair parts management programs. Our Executive team recognized an opportunity to improve our services related to maintenance and repair parts inventory management and initiated the key thrust known today as eFactory Parts. eFactory Parts will allow ATS to enhance current parts solutions by providing customers with the full value of the FMS Four Walls Product and will allow customers to implement a stand-alone parts solution resulting in improved control of inventory and increased performance from their storeroom operations. eFactory Parts will bring together all maintenance and repair inventory management benchmarks and best practices within ATS creating an enhanced parts solution rich with value to our customers and ATS. A full rollout is expected in 2015. If you have any questions regarding eFactory Parts, please contact Mike Waltrip, General Manager, Industrial Parts Services and Supply Chain.
Uniform Overhaul! For years, technicians have complained about the quality of their uniforms and the service provided. Well, we’re excited to announce that we are launching a new uniform program! Managers will select uniforms from several different options out of the ATS Uniform Catalog, choosing uniforms that best meets their site’s need for safety and comfort. The uniform options meet three criteria: 1) met all safety requirements, 2) had an overall appearance that our technicians would take pride in wearing, and 3) had a comfortable, yet durable fit. Over the next year, most sites will get their new uniforms, with each technician being measured for proper fitting.
US Benefits Open Enrollment US employees can make changes to their benefits plans or sign up between November 3-14th through Motivano. Additionally, if you want the ATS vision plan or have a Flexible Spending Account, you need to re-enroll this year. Based on employees’ feedback, we are changing vision providers from Davis Vision to EyeMed. While last year’s premiums did not increase, you will see a minimal increase this year. Remember, if you are on a high deductible health plan, sign up for a health savings account to take advantage of the ATS quarterly contribution. Open enrollment instructions will be sent later this month. Find out more by contacting HR@advancedtech.com.
TALK with Jeff Owens
ATS is gaining traction in sales and attention as we are seeing a substantial increase in interest for all of our services. Add to that the global exposure through our recent CNBC broadcast, and it’s safe to say we are on track for a great fourth quarter. Thank you for your participation in the recent Voice of the Employee engagement survey. Driving engagement, and making ATS an even better place to work, is a priority for me. In the coming months, we will be meeting with many of you to talk about the survey results. I hope you will join me on November 7th for our next Town Hall. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask questions and hear more about what’s going on in our business. I look forward to working with you as we shape the future of ATS together. Jeff

The United Way Campaign is off to a great start, already raising over $60,000 in the first week! ATS supports the United Way because it helps all of our employees’ communities. The United Way is the primary funding source for many non-profit organizations in your communities and applies a strict grant review and governance process to ensure your dollars are spent wisely. When you give to the campaign, your contribution goes to YOUR community (not Peoria, IL only) and you can specify which agencies you want to receive your contribution. By giving through ATS, you can select an automatic payroll deduction as well, making it easy for you to budget your charitable contribution throughout the year. The ever popular online auction is back too, so check it out October 16th-23rd! The campaign runs through October – if you volunteer with a United Way agency, let us know at feedback@advancedtech.com so we can share the great things your agency is doing for your community. Thank you for Living United!
