Employee Quarterly News Issue 1 | April 2014
ATS set to significantly increase technical training via the acquisition of Learn Maintenance, Inc., a nationally recognized company specializing in training for complex manufacturing. ATS has officially purchased the technical training company Learn Maintenance, Inc. and with it, more than 300 training simulators including PLC, CNC, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic training assets. What does this mean for ATS? We’re able to offer remarkably more cuttingedge training for our 2,000+ frontline technicians and manufacturing customers. According to ATS President Jeff Owens, “We feel that we now have a stronger product offering that complements our outsourced
maintenance business both domestically and internationally.” In conjunction with our ability to offer advanced professional training to ATS employees, we will be able to offer this new service to outside companies as well. Just another testimony of the ATS culture of continuous improvement and growth, this is a resource that will help us leverage our strengths and expand our strategic services.

The ATS IT Services Division has a new home, occupying the 18th and 19th floors of this high-rise office building in Schaumburg, IL. We are excited to announce that Workday is getting a new look, providing you with a simpler and faster experience. The new Workday will appear cleaner and will be easier to navigate so that you can better find what you need, when you need it. The overall appearance has been standardized across all screens, providing you with a more consistent and intuitive experience. You will no longer see the “All About Me” and “My Team” (for managers) wheels. Instead you will see a home screen that looks very similar to what you’re used to seeing on a smartphone or tablet. All of the features within Workday remain the same, just the look and feel have changed. The first time you log in, you’ll see an overview of the key features. We’d love to hear your feedback on this new look or Workday in general at Feedback@advancedtech.com.

The local United Way recognized our Greenville, South Carolina team in January with two awards for raising $24,220 for their local community. Shontel Babb explains why she gives:
“Before ATS, I was laid off and found myself unemployed for 2 years. I had to seek assistance from a UW agency because I couldn’t pay my rent. I’ve always worked and always given, but had never been in that position before and it was a humbling experience. I realize there are folks who have it a lot harder than I do, and sometimes those folks just need a little help to get through a rough patch. I give because by tightening my belt just a little, I can. I’m so proud of my family of givers in the Greenville office who are the most generous people I’ve ever known.”
ATS-US contributed $196,271 to the United Way in 2013. Thank you to all!

ATS is excited to welcome two new companies to our growing list of innovative customers – Trinity Rail and Eaton-Mountain Home. ATS began services at Trinity Rail, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in late October 2013. Jimmie Northrip, an ATS lead technician, has been with Trinity for over a year and is extremely pleased with the safety culture ATS has brought to the site. He also mentions the teamwork and organization around supply chain and eFactory Pro have positively impacted his ability to maintain the equipment with tools necessary to perform at a very high level. Finally, service delivery began on March 1st for Eaton-Mountain Home, Arkansas, a manufacturer of hydraulic hoses. There are currently 43 ATS employees at the site. The team is eager to see what ATS can do for Eaton in the coming months.

These are exciting times for ATS. With new sales just closed, a robust pipeline ahead and a major acquisition just completed, 2014 is off to a fantastic start! And to top it off I am pleased to say, thanks to your hard work, we achieved the level of profitability needed to pay out the full supplemental company match for the 401(k) plan, totaling 50% of the employee contributions since reinstatement in 2013. But that’s not all. We heard you loud and clear through our recent employee engagement survey and we are working hard to strengthen the communication channels between senior leadership and employees. This new quarterly newsletter is just one example with many more to come. So let’s all pull together to meet our goals in 2014. And remember to live safety in everything you do. Jeff
