here was no good place for a couple of miscellaneous notes that I felt needed to be published, so I felt this was as good a place as any. Tri-West and Brownsburg boy’s basketball teams will be competing in regional action this Saturday. Both teams play at noon, and if they win they will play at 8 PM for the regional championship. TriWest will first play West Vigo and in the championship they would play the winner of the Guerin Catholic/Lebanon game all at Greencastle. Brownsburg will first play Lawrence North. The championship game is scheduled for 8 PM at Southport. I have not decided which game I will cover. As I write this, I was not able to cover Brownsburg’s sectional championship game last Saturday, so I should probably give priority to their noon game. Driving to either Lawrence North or Greencastle is about a wash. Greencastle may be

a bit farther, but getting to Lawrence North involves negotiating considerably more traffic and I465. Neither of those situations is of particular interest to me. I may try to get another photographer to cover is for me, but few want to drive to either Lawrence North or Greencastle; not that I blame them. There will be no Thursday issue of Ronnie’s Ramblings this week. There are no local high school games/contests scheduled for this week. Although, there is a slim chanced I could do a winter season in review
issue or two during the winter/spring seasons gap. Let me know if you would like to see a winter in review issue or two. The responses I receive will determine whether or not I will publish such a review or two. There has been quite bit of
noise being made that the current White house administration has been acting contrary to the US Constitution. A significant number of members of that same political bent also want to establish an official US religion. If I am not mistaken, that is in direct conflict with the First Amendment to the US Constitution, which would seem to me to be seriously contrary to the US Constitution. The other thing I find inter-
esting about those who want to establish an official US religion, is, which particular denomination, belief system, tenets, rituals and governing body would be declared the official religion from the myriad of belief, worship and hierarchies that exist. While I am venting - I have serious problem with some of the recent news that some state legislators want to have history books used by their school re-written to downplay many if not all of the less than stellar historical facts of US history. Some of the things they feel should be mere footnotes, rather than warnings of what can happen include: the i nt e r n m e nt of Japanese/ American citizens after the attack on Pearl harbor, US slavery,
Civil War abominations, the systematic slaughter degradation, theft and humiliation wrought on Native Americans, war atrocities and a myriad of other inconvenient truths about our history so as to present only an infallible, omnipotent, benevolent, benign facade of our history. They want to teach only the good things of history, not the full truth. An adage I was given in my youth was that, the truth doesn’t hurt, unless it is supposed to. These and other truths need to be brought into the open in an attempt to learn from the past and not repeat the less than desirable incidents. It would be well for some of these revisionists to honor the condemnation they frequently heap upon those who disagree with them. They need to man-up! Another one of those lessons I learned many years ago is if you screw-up, admit it and take responsibility as soon as you can. First it is the honorable thing to do and second, it lessens or eliminates your enemies from using it against you.
