RONNIE’S RAMBLINGS

T

his will be the last issue of Ronnie’s Ramblings, as it has existed for the last two years. With the exception of Boys Golf, all 2016 spring post-season tournaments have concluded. The team/individual outcomes of the golf regional will determine whether or not there is another small photo issue of boys-golfonly. (See note on page 31.) My high school sports action publishing career is rapidly come to an end. I will continue to cover an occasional event as a stringer for other publications and I will continue to publish a blog of sorts. Concerning the “blog” - One of the many things I enjoyed about what I have done publishing for the past 20 years is having a platform from which to pontificate. What has been and still

4

is a pleasant surprise to me, is there are quite few people who enjoy what I write. Since I enjoy it and others derive a convoluted sense of pleasure from it, I will continue to

write my column. It will continue to be called Ronnie’s Ramblings. (When I started Ramblings I determined the name because I ramble from subject to subject in this column, much

like I did in Deliberate Divarica- sives will continue to ramble; I commonly used and frequently tion in Sports & More, I ramble will keep the name, but lose the raised a question as to what it all over Hendricks County covering events and my coverage of events schedule tended to ramble; sometimes two or three events an evening other times maybe one. Thus I thought Ronnie’s Ramblings was appropriate.) The subjects of my future mis-

photo content. I may occasionally include a photo of something I have taken that I feel is worth sharing. It may or may not be high school sports relevant. (I considered renaming this publication Deliberate Divarication - from Sports & More - but the word divarication is not

meant and how to pronounce it.) I will keep it simple. The revised Ramblings will is available by subscription, Facebook and Twitter, just as it is now. To the parents of the high school student/athletes I have photographed, thank you for letting me be a part of your children’s high school career. To those same student/athletes, thank you for confirming to me there are still some incredibly responsible, dedicated, hardworking, disciplined and assuredly successful future adults. To the coaches, school administrators and especially to the tremendous hospitality coordinators and suppliers, thank you. You frequently made the tournaments more enjoyable and saved me the drudgery of preparing a meal or two, better than I could, for myself Fin.
