he best laid plans of mice and of my lower back. It quickly sub- 3:30 AM I awoke with an all too men often go awry...as did mine sided. Then, at approximately familiar pin in the same area. I for this past week. As I mentioned here last issue, I began to clean/straighten/rearrange my garage. It was a much larger job then I had anticipated and by the end of the week it was still a good 20% incomplete. I figured I had all of this week to finish. There I go making assumptions, again. Monday and Tuesday I occupied most of the day with getting my Ramblings files updated and better organized small maintenance projects around the house and completing some non-business errands. That would leave Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to finish the garage. Piece of cake. Tuesday night around 9:30 I felt a slight twinge in the right flank

had a very strong suspicion it was another kidney stone. I drove myself to the hospital. After a few tests and a CAT scan, the kidney stone was confirmed, and it was a bit one; approximately 14 millimeters.
That is about half an inch, and that is a very large stone. My doctors advised me a stone that large was very unlikely to pass on its own. They suggested another procedure; lipotripsy (sp); shattering it with sound waves.
It is affectionately known as the rock crusher. I will undergo the rock c rusher procedure on March 22 at 7 AM. I had been instructed to be at the hospital in Carmel by 6 AM. That means I will need to leave my house around 5:15 AM, which will necessitate getting out of bed at 4:30 AM. Those are obscene hours for a guy who seldom gets up prior to 8 AM. Although spring has not officially arrived according to the calendar, spring activities have begun. Last Friday I needed to mow my yard. Last year I purchased a battery powered lawn mower. No gas, no oil, no cleaning of filters; just sharpen the blade, charge the battery and mow. I think I am going to like this reduced mower maintenance quite a bit. I do so far. A full charge gets me a bit more than two full mowing. About an hour of mowing
