* Lakeland Hill Climb. COMPETITION SECRETARY'S REPORT. Approximately twenty club members entered this event and enjoyed a highly competitive and most pleasant day as guests of the Marque Sports Car Association. In comparison with the other invited clubs the Porsche Club had -the most entries from any one club and this was pleasing to the organizers as overall enteries were not as numerous as hoped for.

One of our well known members, Doug Whiteford, was just beaten for fastest time of the aay. He was driving the magnificent Brown Turbo of Keith Barnes. Another club member to do extremely well was Rex Broadbent who turned in the second fastest Porsche time in his 2.4 S. The Porsche "works" team was strongly represented and in addition to Doug Whiteford, both Alan Hamilton and Tony Jones were there enjoying the fun. Alan winning the class for four cylinder Porsches. As everyone enjoyed this day so much we are endeavouring to secure the track for an event of our own next year. Detailed results are as follows: Best timeC'ship points 52.57 7 53.38 5 53.86 4

Once agai.n we had to contend with poor weather for this event, which neverthe1ess proved to be a most rewarding day for all, who participated. It was, I am sure a welcom chancre from the normal type of competition where the accent is on speed and stress of one kind or aiother. It also provided the c'iportunity for those members with less powerful cars to demonstrate .

their skills in another aspect of the sport. Extremely good.performanCeS were put in by John Morely and Vin Jacono who won their respective classes with quite outstanding consumption figures. John Gregory was unlucky to be beaten, but from all reports he is likely to be quite a contender at Winton. Michael Ryan whose name appears last on the result sheet suffered a fuel penalty, but for which he would have been among the leaders. He was penalised because unfortunately his navigator got lost in Trentham and could not find the school, which by the way, was in the main street. Congratulations to both of you anyway chaps. You were magnificent in defeaU On the basis of entries in other competition events, we were rather surprised that more people did not participate in the Economy run and it 'would be interesting for committee members to know just what your feelings are about the type of events you would like us to conduct. Winton Meetinq 5-12--76. With the publicity that our last day at Winton on August 1st has received, there should not be any need to enter into a sales campaign in respect of our next day there on December 5th.

We had 42 Porsches entered last time and in spite of the normal bad' weather all present seemed to come away happy. Next time we should be much luckier with the weather and having the benefit of the past event to draw on, both comp2titors and officials should be able to make this day even better. Again we are anxious that all intending entrants put in their entries early. As our limit is 60 cars it is in your interest to send in your entry at the first opportunity. It is possible that we could be over Important points to remember are:-subscribed. 1. You must he able to present your club and civil licences on the day (see sup. regs.). 2. Cars must be roadworthy and fitted with an approved fire extinguisher. 3. An approved crash helmet in necessary. Thanks to the members who have kindly offered to assist on the day. However I am still anxious to hear from the other members, particularly non-competitors male or female, experienced or not, who may be willing ? Regarding accommodation, there may still be a vacant room or two at the Rose City Motor Inn where quite a few of us stayed last time. I understand that there has been quite a demand once again for accommodation at this motel which served us well on the last occasion. Kerry Reynolds Competition Secretary.
