The simple function of ‘driving’ certainly means different things to different people. Some like it, some love it, some suffer through the task as better than walking and for an increasingly amount of our youth - don’t want a part of it. Some of us can’t do it fast enough nor often enough. I for one love driving. Loved getting right the art of heal and toeing at QR, love the sound of a balanced engine approaching redline, loved dropping back to second to shoot out of a corner since I was 16yrs old and so on. So this had me thinking that of all car enthusiasts across all car clubs I have met – some differences have upon reflection become apparent. Those car clubs that love their cars and like there driving. All car club members love their cars that’s without question and I’m sure all to a degree like or love driving their cars. BUT I’ll put it out there that of all car clubs on the planet, Porsche Car club members are the ones that LOVE the art of ‘driving’ the most – not just love their cars. Why or how can I draw such a conclusion? Well the jury is in. It’s impossible to enjoy the wide dynamics of any Porsche in 2014 without ending up in serious trouble with the Police and other road users. How can a car club member of any persuasion enjoy ‘driving’ up to and including 110kph. 0 to 60kph from a set of traffic light in a orderly fashion when you may in fact have a never used launch control ( either as a skill set or from the factory) . How can you cut apex’s at a mind blowing 40kph in the suburbs? How can you put on a set of GONZO pipes and not alienate most of your neighbours. And wife for that matter? 99.9% of daily driving is a mind numbing task of trying to not break speed limits and be socially responsible. Most car club members certainly haven’t (legally) experienced redline in 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th (urr.. me neither) in their pride and joy. Nor experienced the maximum braking threshold their sports tyres will allow unless avoiding an accident, nor experienced the cornering forces that there car is capable of. Corner after corner.

PORSCHE

NEWS

One must conclude that to ‘drive’ and enjoy your cars capabilities one must break the law. Unless the enjoyment of ‘driving’ can be achieved while maintaining your position in traffic and not making any sudden lane changes. I have full appreciation of the road rules and stick to speed limits as religiously as any other road user. But I’m just ‘commuting’ and avoiding being hit and concentrating on not breaking any road rules. I’m certainly not ‘driving’ . Anyone who thinks that commuting is driving hasn’t been on a club track day. So yes this is where I’m heading. I have now come to the conclusion that Porsche Clubs have more ‘drivers’ than any other car brand. Maybe one or two brands have random track days I give them that. But the amount of Porsche club members that regularly head to a legal track day environment to enjoy their cars letting them off the leash, the amount of members that then take their Porsche’s to compete in events such as Targa Tasmania, Targa West, the Dutton’s Rally or end up in the GT3 Challenge, or even the Porsche Carrera Cup. A one make series that is simply unmatched in brand support.

has arranged some pretty special metal so keep an eye out. We discussed at our last PCQ committee meeting a weekend on Stradbroke Island for the members with Cayenne’s (or Macans). Certainly no issues with all Porsches and other 4Wds joining us. Stradbroke Island weekend was certainly shaping up as a must attend weekend. Have you joined our Porsche Club Of Qld facebook page, come to a monthly club night or purchased any of our 40th Anniversary PCQ Merchandise? Visit our PCQ website for details or alternatively come to our PCQ monthly club nights at Porsche Centre Brisbane where merchandise will be displayed and made available. So while all car clubs equally have their passionate hard core car lovers - Porsche also has the drivers. Drivers who love driving their cars. Unless you have truly driven your Porsche you will never quite know what it is you paid for. PCQ memberships are rolling in strong with over 400 members financial as of September 2014. Up by about 30% so far so we may break 600 members which would be great for our track days numbers and social events. Ian Gall along with Tony Van der Drift is reviewing the 2015 track day calendar with a strong focus on driver training for newbies and competition rules for the hard core club racers so stay tuned. Greg McWhinney is working very VERY hard on the next years club social Calender and our monthly guest speakers at club nights. Greg

Antony van der Drift congratualtioning Eric Van Dyk on being Club Person of the Year.

EDITORS NOTES

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. It will be wrong if I don’t start my first editor’s letter with the confession that I don’t own a Porsche. Never have. There you have it. You have chosen an editor for your club magazine with a different interest in Porsches. Not as an owner, but a spectator. How do they say? Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. My flirtation with Porsches started when my brother, Martin became the owner of a red 1977 2.7 911S. Having an older brother with a red 911S has its perks, but I was never allowed close to the steering wheel of the car. It was only a few years later that we all understood why I wasn’t allowed to drive any of his Porsches. Once I came very close to owning a 1968 912 with a 2.7S engine. Did I mention the 2.7S engine? Not just any 1968, but a lovely orange one. My father owned the very special car and

decided it was time for him to move on to newer cars that don’t need the love and attention a 1968 craves. My heart was on that car, but at that stage in my life I had a little toddler and a very new career. There was no money for a luxury like the 912. The reason why the 912 is so close to my heart must be because it is the only Porsche that I’ve ever driven. Once. Through the years Martin owned a number of Porsches. He bought my dad’s 912 and one busy Friday afternoon, he had to pick up his 1985 911 3.2 after a service and needed someone to drive the 912 back home. I instantly knew this was my one and only chance. Martin wasn’t worried that I will get the opportunity to be a lead foot in the very heavy afternoon traffic. He made double sure that I don’t take any chances and purposefully didn’t show me where to find first gear one the dog-leg gearbox. He thought that he got away with his

little sister being a decent driver until we were a few blocks away from home. I found 1st gear! What an exhilarating discovery! It was one of those moments that you had to be there to appreciate it. One moment his 911 was behind me, next moment and the change of traffic lights I was GONE! Can I say it was one of the best finds of my life? Needless to say that the 3.2 never caught up with me. What a feeling! Unfortunately this story doesn’t have a happy ending, and I was banned from ever driving any of my brother’s Porsches. For Ever. It is really a pity because when we recently visited them in the UK he is now the owner of a 1997 993 C2S (Vesuvius). What a car! Next month more about my liaisons d’amour with my husband’s Porsche’s. Sunel van Renen Communications Director

Not a lot to report this month numbers still remain around 20 which makes it difficult to run weekend events however the weekday ones are still going well , there are new members coming out and I believe several cars are in preparation. There have been some changes to classing and it has been necessary to re calculate the points for this year. There are three cars built by Don Munro that have now moved up to A3 in light of recent dyno testing so to keep the records straight we have done a recalculation, at time of writing this is nearly completed and should be up on the website, apologies for the delay. I am told that there have been rumblings about classing however I am only aware of one instance which has now been resolved so as always if you have any issues with this process or anything else please contact me so we can look at it.

CONTROL

We have secured three joint weekend days with Paul Stokel next year which will enable members to get some training and then put those new found skills to use, we are now just waiting on the track to confirm dates. We will also be attending Shannon’s Days Of Thunder and I have requested more garage spaces for next year. There are a couple of proposals for discussion for next year the first is to change the method of classing from the present system which relies on honesty to report horsepower and weight to one where those wishing to participate in modified vehicles provide a current dyno report and the horsepower at the wheel and the weight determine classing. The testing will be done at a club approve facility and we may be able to provide some assistance with costs. Those that don’t want to participate in the club championship need not comply with

‘We love your Porsche, we love carbon fibre. Together we will make it classic.’

Noosa Beach Classic Article by Greg McWhinney

Sunday of the Long weekend and for some of us it was – Part Two of a great weekend of club activities. Again some of us meeting up at BP North bound at 6.30am.

invited Porsche to be Marque of the year; I had a goal to get a least 30 Porsches ‘on-show’ & hoping for 40 plus to help celebrate the club’s 40th Anniversary.

Six cars headed north and another joined us along the way, & what a lovely morning it was for a drive to Noosa.

David Marshall from Porsche Centre Brisbane drove up a 991, while Rachel Place helped David out by driving the new Diesel Macan to show the latest Porsches available.

So with the generosity and enthusiasm of club members we not only reached but passed 40 with a total of 52 cars on display including Phil’s 996 RSR, Geoff’s RSCS race cars, we signed on 8 new members on the day.

The photos show what a great day is was, Tim Place combined the Club Concours with the Noosa Beach Car Club display, which made for a great social day, as members talked & looked at all the other PCQ cars on show, all the other makes on show, & could also take a short walk to Hastings Street, for coffee or for some a great lunch.

Our ‘little band’ arrived just before 7.45am & what a sight the Loins park in Noosa made already – with over half of the park already full and plenty of more cars to come. Noosa Beach Classic Car Club (NBCCC)

We had members travel in from Dalby, Kingaroy, Gold Coast, Northern NSW, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

There were some amazing cars on show, from the 30’s – 40’s – 50’ – 60’s through to modern, Mustangs, Ferrari’s, MG’s Ford Cortina’s, Australian Muscle cars, being European or American classic’s. Some members had their cars judged by PCQ and by NBCCC, & took out awards with both clubs. Steve Cooper’s 356 Out-Law got First Place European Sports Car, Ross Golding’ 997 finished in Top three for his division & Geoff Hewitt got First for Race Cars, & PCQ’s very own VP Tony van der Drift not only

Tony told me he was simply blown away with his beautiful 356 winning so much silver ware and ribbon from NBCCC, but also took out PCQ top awards as well. Tim and his team did amazing job of getting all the cars judged & presenting the trophies at the end of the day, with Lee Cooper taking home two trophies for the GT-RS. We even saw ‘F-1’ royalty Mark Webber

admiring all the Porsches & other marques and was kind enough to say ‘hello’ to people as he walked around. I’ve been asked to see if PCQ should make it a part of next year’s social calendar, please let me know your thoughts. Greg McWhinney Social Director

The turnout was a fantastic display, recognised by NBCCC by the vast number of trophies they presented to our members! In conjunction PCQ also ran our own hard fought concours, and my team of judges worked hard in the heat to recognise the following cars as a credit to their owners: (clockwise from top left) Overall Champion Lee Cooper, 911 Early - Michelle Jansen, 911 Modern - Ross Golding, Ted Cogger (winning the Shannons raffle), 924/944/928/968 - Wes Wall, Boxster/ Cayman Anthony Rowell, Racecar - Lee Cooper, Steve Cooper (NBCCC best European Sports Category), (magazine front cover) 356 - Anthony van der Drift. Australia’s first 911 Carrera Police Car Australia. The very first Porsche 911 Carrera police car for Australia will cruise the roads of New South Wales as Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) takes its successful community partnership programme with the NSW Police Force into its third year. The striking blue and white 911 Carrera received its design inspiration from close to 60 competition entries from local and international students throughout NSW university, tertiary campuses and high schools. The partnership between Porsche and the NSW Police is helping drive the Force’s community engagement activities. Since the partnership began in 2012 the Force has used a special liveried Porsche to attend more than 300 community events throughout the state, where the fascination of a Porsche in police decals is helping to break the ice especially with youths in disadvantaged areas. Public displays and a strong social media campaign has helped score great results

for the NSW Police Force, with almost 1,000,000 hits on the Force’s facebook page directly related to the Porsche alone. “The last two years we have sought to create a unique programme where we could effectively engage our community on a regular basis,” says NSW Police Force Superintendent Alan Sicard. “Up until now our partnership with Porsche has been with its Panamera sedan. Swapping into an eyecatching 911 Carrera will up the ante to become an even more effective means to enable social dialogue.” The Porsche police car is run and operated out of the NSW Police Force’s Harbourside Local Area Command but shared with other Commands. The car is owned, operated and serviced by Porsche with the NSW Police responsible only for fuel and tollway costs. “Porsche takes its corporate social responsibility activities very seriously,”

says PCA Managing Director, Sam Curtis. “This partnership is cost effective and successful for both Porsche and the Police which is exactly the outcome each of us desires.” The two-door 911 Carrera is powered by a 257 kW flat-six cylinder engine and can reach the general highway legal speed limit (100 km/h) from standstill in 4.8 seconds. “Although the 911 might make an ideal Police response car in some people’s eyes, the true value of the sporty Carrera in police decals is that it will draw attention and curiosity with younger folk especially which is exactly what we aim to achieve,” says Superintendent Sicard Article and Photo by Porsche Cars Australia

SHED TOUR

Saturday morning of the long weekend and it has been over 7 years since the club has visited the Bowden’s shed & it’s exciting to have the opportunity to see this amazing collection of cars again. It was quite a site with so many Porsches at the BP North bound travel centre with some fuelling their cars & themselves ‘with coffee’ – it was great to see so many PCQ members talking and introducing themselves to others and looking over each other’s cars made for a great start to this event. Some ‘clubbies’ car-pooled with a couple of family SUV’s – Golf R & others added to our mix. I advised we’d head north taking the Steve Irwin Way as the scenic route to Ettamogah Pub to regroup; so our ‘band’ of 44 members headed north & enjoyed a simple drive where

we met up with another 8 members at the front of Ettamogah Pub. Dan Bowden arrived shortly after in a Targa prepared Yellow 964 RS which has been purchased on behalf of a fellow PCQ club member; we assembled our group and introduced Dan who advised the travel route to their property and where the day would really begin.

If a vehicle isn’t in running order, time and a lot of effort is invested into getting it back to running order as it was in its hey-day, as Dan explained they see that the cars are meant to be driven.

We had 56 members attend the day and what a day it was, on arriving at the property and getting all the cars parked including Geoff and Toni Hewitt who travelled in from Dalby with their ex- Jim Richards 993 RSCS on a car trailer to display the following day at Noosa Beach Classic Car show.

Dan explained how some 356 and other early model Porsches are gaining extraordinary value at the moment, to the point even the Bowden’s are ‘letting go’ their gorgeous White 356 Carrera which has been a part of the collection since the beginning.

Getting to know:- Antony van der Drift We caught up with Antony van der Drift at the Götzinger sausage factory in Yatala to have a chat about his passion for Porsches as well as his new role as Vice President of the Porsche Club QLD. Having a late afternoon coffee at the deli you can see that he is very approachable, well liked and respected by his staff. They are all greeted by name when they walk into the deli and there is always time for a quick chat about rugby or weekend plans. Although Antony’s first car was a blue Ford Laser and he still owns a 1984 Ford Bronco and a Ford F100 Ute, which is his daily driver. His collection of Porsches consist of a 1989 – Porsche 964, 1993 – Porsche 965 and the 1964 –Porsche 356 who celebrated her 50th birthday on 21 September 2014. She has won 2 gold medals at the Melbourne Concourse and one at the Porsche Club QLD for Antony over the years. The Ford Bronco is a restoration project and when asked why he started with the Ford and not a Porsche, he said “It is good to start with Lego!”

20

PORSCHE

NEWS

Giving his impressive fleet of cars it is not surprising that Antony’s garage is already home to his dream car, which is his 965, but he still has his eye on a red 356 Roadster. With his 964 he has raced on various tracks around Australia and he’s next goal is to crack 60 seconds at Lakeside. If he could race any car around any track in the world, he would love to race his 964 around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. While he enjoys racing around Lakeside in his 964; when at home, he likes to take a spin around the virtual track competing against other computer racing enthusiasts. He is very proud to mention that this hobby won him an Australian Championship online. As newly appointed Vice President for the Porsche Club QLD, his passion for the club is clear and to the point. “I got a lot from the club in the past” Antony said when asked about his vision for the club in the future. He went on to say that he see this as an opportunity to offer his support to the other committee members to help the club prosper. Antony believes “The biggest challenge will be to build involvement

by Sunel van Renen

of the members”. Antony’s passion for Porsches can only be matched by his passion for sausages. Being a second generation sausage maker, he worked for his dad before he traveled overseas. After returning from his travels he worked in the scrap metal recycling industry in Fiji and Papua New Guinea. He realised it as was time to come home and return to his roots when after 5 year he still woke up every morning thinking about making sausages. The Brisbane Oktoberfest was a great opportunity for Antony to bring his passion for Germans sausages and German cars together. For Götzinger to be an official supplier for the Oktoberfest was a perfect match. We are lucky to have Antony as Vice President of Porsche Club QLD, and we look forward to his input to make the club grow from strength to strength.

PORSCHE DRIVE DAY THE GAP – WOODY POINT

We were greeted with beautiful weather for the last day of winter for our drive from The Gap to Belvedere Steak & Crab house at Woody Point via Mt. Glorious road & Samford Valley. Jason Arnold decided to bring his GT-40 to take for the run instead of the 996-RS & brought along a friend who too had a Black big-block GT-40. After catching up over a coffee we hit the road with our little band of classic’s, the run had a 911-SC, 996 GT-3, 997 Carrera, Boxster S, Cayman S & two GT-40’s – one Red the other Black. We certainly drew a lot of attention with the GT40’s mixed in with the Porsches as the line-up drove along Waterworks Road on our way up to Mt. Nebo & onto Mt. Glorious. Just after entering the National Park road system we had a SUV pull over to let our group pass to enjoy some of Mt. Glorious Road with a little bit of enthusiasm, but we eventually caught up with other road users & still enjoyed the road & views at a reserved pace as we travelled up towards Mt. Glorious. If you are a frequent user of this road you’ll know it’s very popular with motorbikes, which is interesting as we had an ‘ever-efficient’ police officer just pass Mt. Nebo Village signal to one of the GT-40’s in the middle of our group to pull over. As it turned out it was so the Police could check the position of the front licence plate of one of the GT-40’s; this split the group as those

in front travelled on to a safe parking spot & the rest of the group stopped. Three of us we travelled on a bit further up the road to find a safe & legal place to pull over & park, which isn’t easy on Mt. Glorious Road, as it turned out all was good, and before the GT40 boy’s re-joined us we had some excitement. While we were beside the road, chatting & waiting for the GT-40’s to re-join our group we had several motorbikes with Ferrari 458 in ‘hot tow’ went enthusiastically pass us, they all waved & kept going. Then in the distance we could hear then eventually saw the police officer in his Toyota Pardo who had pulled up the GT-40 boys with lights ablaze going as quick as he could – The GT-40 ‘boy’s, explained ‘what had happened’ & how while talking to the police officer the Motorbike group & 458 had gone pass with enthusiasm, so the police officer quickly concluded their talk & drove off, they believe to have a ‘chat’ to the enthusiastic motorcyclist & the 458 owner - all added to the excitement and conversations across the rest of the day. The rest of our drive was uneventful, just got to enjoy beautiful weather & some nice roads, some turned off along the way to keep other personal commitments, but wanted to come along so to be able to enjoy some of SE QLD’s great driving roads on a Sunday morning. The rest of us drove as a group over the Hornibrook Bridge & onto Woody Point for a great lunch.

Over a glass of wine or cold beer we decided on meals – which varied from Crab – surf & turf – Thai salads & seafood, all the meals all came out quite quickly & the ‘one-man band’ played good middle of the road music. By early afternoon it was time to say good bye & head off home in a number of directions – Gold Coast – Brisbane Metro – Glass House Mt. I’m always amazed how members of the public seem to enjoy looking, asking questions and handing on praise at our Porsches as much we enjoy driving them. The club may have picked up a new member just after parking my 911 SC going to have a coffee at The Gap a ‘local’ introduced himself to me saying he had a 928 GTS he’s working on so I’ve invited him to our next club night. As Tim Place (membership) has always said our Porsches do attract attention so don’t be shy in inviting someone to join PCQ at a club night or to attend a social outing. Happy Porscheing Greg McWhinney

Luis Pérez is a spanish figurative painter (Valladolid 1978)

In 2004 he moved to London, where he started to dedicate himself full time to the creation of his realist works. He has become renowned for his urban landscapes, Americana and Pop Art paintings, although is always challenging himself with different subject matter like classic airplanes, motorcycles or cars. Especially here, in these photorealistic works, is where Luis shows that he certainly knows how to handle light, with the reflectivity of each surface faithfully represented. His paintings have been included in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout the world, and are in both public and private collections in: Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, United States, Australia, Canada or Japan.

“I love painting Porsches. The first time I painted one I did not realized I was at the starting point of something. It was about eight years ago and was a 356 (image attached), I could say the very first Hyperealistic painting that I did.

Porsche painted. And this is great because I know how you feel about your car, every single one is different from the others, has its own personality, uniqueness and somehow it show the personality of the owner, so its a kind of portrait!

A few years later I got in touch with some people from Porsche Iberica in Madrid (Spain) and talked about the idea of doing some paintings and maybe a show at their headquarters. The show did not materialized then, but we will do it in the future for sure, So I started creating this collection of Porsche paintings from many ages, colors, and in different backgrounds, specially focused in the 911, a true Legend on wheels, and to me one of the most beautiful, recognizable and desirable designs of all time. Many of them were sold, and I am always doing new ones and even getting commissions from people around the world that want to get their

In 2009 a dream came true and I got my Guard’s Red 1981 Porsche 911 SC, and since that moment I got absolutely mad about these cars. Finally this year I bought a 2014 Porsche Macan S and all I can say is they are something really special to me, and something that I can be proud of and enjoy driving every single day. I would like my collection to grow in the future, with a 991 and a “pre-73” 911 :) “

Bathurst Motor Festival 2015 The Bathurst Motor Festival is on again in 2015 and Porsche Club NSW have been invited to run a category once again. The event will be held over 3 days during the Easter weekend in 2015, the dates being Friday April 3rd through to Sunday April 5th. And we would love to welcome some more of our interstate friends to join us again this year for an opportunity to experience one of the world’s great circuits. Please feel free to forward this email onto your members. Places are limited as we have offered slots to the 2014 participants first and the take-up was high. Other states have received this information simultaneously, so time is of the essence. Our Category Our Category will be run as an exclusively Porsche Marque Regularity event just like in 2014, and will be run under a CAMS licence and in accordance with the CAMS Regulations for Modern Regularity. We will also be imposing some of our own additional regulations for the safe running of the category. For example, we will require that competitors have reasonable experience on a race track in order to compete – a minimum of 3 CAMS Sanctioned Supersprint days in the past 2 years. Under specific CAMS regulations for the Mt Panorama Circuit, there is currently a minimum lap time (fastest accepted) of no faster than 2:40. This time limit is outside our control and is enforced by the organisers, so take it into consideration when making your decision to enter. From experience, a well driven road going GT3 on slicks is likely to go under this time, and a GT3 Cup car is almost certain to go under the time. The CAMS guidelines also stipulate that the slowest car should be no more than 130% of the fastest nominated time - which means 3:28 is the slowest any car can run. It's pretty clear that in the interests of safety, we do not want gross variations in the potential speeds and lap times. Use the 2014 event times published on www.natsoft.com.au as a guideline for your car type. Our Category will be open to members of all Porsche Clubs in Australia - we will however be monitoring entries to ensure that they are fairly distributed across the clubs. We are intending to have each state compete for an interclub trophy at the event. There is a track limit of 55 cars for the grid. Once the Category is fully subscribed, we will me maintaining a Reserves list on a first come basis. Participants from the 2014 event have already received an advance opportunity to register - however we have now opened up the remaining slots to anyone in an Australian Porsche Club. Following from the success of last years format, we have negotiated to maintain the length of the runs and you will get 5 x 20 minute runs over the weekend, consisting of 1 x practice (Friday), 4 Regularity runs (2 x Saturday & 2 x Sunday). Bookings – Holding Deposit Bookings to reserve your place are on a first come basis. Initial offers are to those who participated in 2014. The total cost will be approximately $1,250 per entry with a deposit of $650 required to hold your spot. Final costs will be known closer to the event. This is a small increase over 2014, BUT does include a $50 fuel voucher from Racefuels for use at the event. This booking is for the holding deposit payment. You will be contacted via the email address you provide at a later date for the balance of the entry fee – most likely in late January/early February when we will have a better idea of final entry fee. As some background, PCNSW does not seek to make any profit from this event. We simply take the organisers charges, add a small overhead for an admin tent and ancillary costs and divide this by the size of the field. Individual members can book garages should they require, but these are also handled as pass through costs. We are required by the BMF organisers to commit to the final numbers and pay all entry fees to the organisers well in advance of the event. We are seeking to have some Sponsorship to cover the costs of a Shirt and standardised signage/numbering for the cars (to give a more consistent and professional appearance), so if anyone is able to assist in this matter it would be a great help. Therefore, there are some simple rules regarding bookings:

Bookings are not transferable - they must be made by the person who intends to participate at the event. If you are unable to attend, let us know and your place will be offered to the next person on the reserve list. This is the fairest way of handing a reserves list. We will do our best to refund money should you not be able to attend. We do understand that circumstances change – so if you book and then discover you cannot attend, contact us ASAP. Once final payments have been made (Jan/Feb) we will only refund the entry fees if a replacement is found. This is because we will have already paid the organisers. Since this is a Porsche Marque event, only enter cars of Porsche make and model. Initial bookings are only being accepted from 2014 Participants for the first few days – so don’t send this email to all your club mates. Note that it says Participants – if they booked last year and withdrew, then they will have to wait for the general offer. Only one driver per car - it's a regularity, so all 55 cars go out on the circuit at the same time.

    

The booking portal can be accessed via the link in this email. The link will also be published on the PCNSW Web site. To reserve your place and pay a holding deposit, follow this link: Porsche Regularity Event - Holding Deposit Payment You will be asked for a security code (displayed on the screen) and you will also require a Registration Code - which is: BMFEARLY For those who are not members of PCNSW:

Some of the fields asked may seem redundant - this is because the system pre-fills some fields from member records. Since many of you are not members of PCNSW, we need you to enter the details in full. Enter your car details in "Car 1" field (you don't need to say Porsche - we already know that bit) Leave Car details for 2 thru 4 empty Nominate Car 1 as the one being used for this event.

  

For all Drivers, we assume that you are the owner of the car (the entrant) unless you tell us otherwise. Note that the Entrant will be the name as shown on the car registration papers or (if your car has one) in the CAMS log book. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need anything clarified at captain@pcnsw.com.au Looking forward to a great Festival and seeing you all there. Hello, my name is Christian Langton, I’m Professor of Medical Physics within the Institute of Health & Biomedical Innovation at QUT. My wife Jan and I drive a 1976 911 3.0 Carrera Sport Targa and a 2006 Cayenne S (the most complete car on the planet!). We live in an old fishing shack that we’re renovating at Jacobs Well overlooking the beautiful mangrove waterfront. I visit Germany every three months for various ultrasound research collaborations; on my latest trip I returned with 16kg of brake callipers for the 911, making interesting viewing at airport security! The 911 has had a charmed life; by having its gearbox reconditioned at an independent specialist, it survived the 2007 UK floods that wiped out my house and two other cars! Porsche Gold Coast recently borrowed the car to place alongside the new ‘retro’ 911 Targa. We’re looking forward to social drives in the 911 with the club.

I am Charles Liew. Profession-wise, I started & run both Tourdex. com.au (tourism) & Moringa Farm Australia.com.au (nutrition & health). Due to our northern location, I founded & run the (unofficial) Porsche Club Cairns * from around 2002/3 when we had a 996 4CS. We now have a 997 Turbo. We are a small ‘club’ that seem to vary between 8 to 12 members with one spike to 16. Rain or Shine, our monthly gatherings are ALWAYS on the First Sunday of every month, at 9am at various locations. We gather for general chats, but also to always try to share some Porsche drives together. All owners of all types of Porsche Cars from very old to very new cars are welcome. We also encourage our members to attend the Porsche Advanced Driving programmes.

| Rachel Place Just thought I would share my awesome drive up to the Noosa Beach Classic. I was lucky enough to assist Porsche Centre Brisbane by driving the new Macan to Noosa for them to display over the weekend. What an absolute beautiful car to drive, so smooth and effortless. It even handles well around the corners! It was exciting (and slighlty nerve racking) parking it in the foyer of the RACV Noosa for all to admire at the cocktail party. Thanks Porsche Centre Brisbane, I did mention to David that I am available to drive any car anywhere anytime they need.

911 GT3 - $153,000 Neg Unique opportunity to own one of the premier 997 GT3’s in Australia. This car has been my pride and joy for the last 3 years and I have regretfully made the decision to sell this car to fund other interests. The car is a 2007 model, 997 GT3 Club Spec with only 15,000kms. The car has been used recreationally for Porsche Club QLD events and as a weekend driver, with all the usual GT3 inclusions for the road plus an options list in excess of 100K,all professionally installed by PR Technology (one of Australia’s most respected Porsche tuners) when the car was new. All modifications to this car have been completed with the aim of increasing handling without sacrificing the original intent of the road car. The modifications have been chosen to complement each other and a few of the items are as follows: • Fully adjustable 997 cup car suspension including rose jointed upper & lower control arm mounts, stiffer spring rates front and rear including custom valved MCA shock absorbers for better handling on track. The suspension can be tuned for road and track and a second set of softer springs are included in the sale. (bump and rebound are separately adjustable) • Optimised exhaust system • Shorter diff ratio with stronger gearbox synchro bushings • Lightweight clutch and flywheel • Upgraded brake system • Driver and passenger light weight carbon fibre Genuine Porsche Carrera GT seats • 997 GT3R Carbon rear wing and front splitter • 997 Carbon Cup cup car intake system with remapped ECU (Std setting available) • Second Set of 18inch BBS wheels with new Michelin wet weathers. • OMP Steering wheel and boss system • Lap timer Receipts from PR technology can be provided which shows the level of commitment invested in this car along with the myriad of different parts installed, tuned and serviced throughout its short life. This car is in excellent condition and is the ultimate iteration of the last manual GT3 series. Comes with 12 months rego and all standard parts (as new) included in price.

Porsche 934 Replica CAMS log booked, roll caged and road registered. Very recent engine upgrades including new 98mm pistons/barrels, carrillo rods, EFI conversion with Vi-Pec V88 ECU, twin plug, 964 plastic inlet manifold, Tial F46 waste gate, Garrett GT35/82 turbo, setup for E85 fuel, conservative mapping of ECU and small pipe extractors giving a handy 375 rear wheel horsepower from 5,000 to 6,000 RPM at 1 bar boost (my dyno man reckons better extractors with same boost and safe, but less conservative ecu mapping should give circa 440 RWHP). Freshened G50 gearbox, new Velo seats, new Momo Prototipo steering wheel, BBS wheels 18x10 fronts and 18x11 rears. Since above work the car has only done two hill climbs: PCQ HC Mt Cotton Aug 2013 and Noosa HC Nov 2013 . Car is entered for PCQ Noosa HC July 2014 . Circa $30K spent over past three years. The car is a lot of fun to drive with about 500 horsepower (at fly wheel) and weight of circa 1120KG . A very reluctant sale and the only reason the car is offered for sale being my present unplanned fiscal situation. Asking $80,000 (including a tilt trailer, numerous spare wheel sets in 16’s, 17’s and 18’s and various expensive spare parts). Alternatively I will consider relationship offers from a warm understanding lady with a nice house (and garage) willing to accommodate me and my Porsche.

1973 Porsche 911S Targa - $23,950 This is a genuine 1973 Porsche 911S Targa. It is an original right hand drive car which is nearing the tail end of a restoration. A lot of the hard work has been completed to date. It is a rolling chassis with suspension, wheels and just about everything needed to complete the restoration. The only things missing is the engine and gearbox, I believe. This would look great in the garage next to the 991 Targa.
