FOCUS: PENDANTS
ROOMSTORE FOCUS CATALOG no. 6
Dear reader, We hope that you have enjoyed the warm weather, this season has brought us. After a couple of months without our digital focus catalog, we are now back with many new and exciting products. As the attentive reader might already have noticed, this edition of the catalog differs from earlier publications; from now on we will present the Roomstore digital focus catalog in English instead of Danish. In this edition, we once again focus on products that cater to the season. As the days get shorter and the dark, cold Autumn approaches, we have looked through our suppliers’ great assortment of pendants for indoor use. Tala is one of our newest additions to our brand portfolio, and the British brand offer light sources to all of our lamps. Have a look at Tala’s Classic Collection in the new price list. All light sources from Tala are LED and with a focus on sustainability. We hope that you will be inspired by this focus catalog. You are always welcome to contact us for further information. Best wishes, Thomas & Brian Team Contract Roomstore

Produkt Se mere her
The French company DCW is founded by Philippe Cazer and Frédéric Winkler, in 2007. Their mutual passion for design had its starting point in Bernard-Albin Gras and his Gras lamp, which DCW put into production, as the first design of many.
05 – DCW Éditions
The DCW series Les Acrobates de Gras is inspired by the acrobates in a circus; doing tricks high up in the air. The series is impressive, full of movement and rhythm. The colours and shapes of the Lampe Gras shades are elegant and sharp. Les Acrobates de Gras can be combined with each other; which let everyone create their own lamp fitting their need.
The Acrobates de Gras series gives you the opportunity to combine countless of Acrobates lamps only using one power outlet. Create your own composition on www.acrobatesbuilder.fr and get the combination that suits your need the best.

FILIGRANA
ESTABLISHED & SONS Established & Sons present designs that have the power to shock, challenge and widen accepted parameters. Chosen by collectors to provide a feature and talking point, some designs push material technology and even the laws of physics. Others contain elegance, humour, and a story to be told, a tale of multiple creative disciplines and dialogues uniting as a designer experiments and further develops their creative language.

In the 16th century, the filigrana technique was closely guarded by the artisans of Murano. The Venetians used glass as a form of currency, and the highly skilled process behind the spiralling filigree stripes gave it even higher value. Today, the old wood-burning furnaces have been replaced with gas equivalents and production is no longer limited to Murano, but many of the same traditions still exist.

CORAL & FLORAL DAVID TRUBRIDGE

David Trubridge graduated from Newcastle University in England in 1972 with a degree in Naval Architecture (Boat Design). Working as a forester part-time in rural Northumberland for a short period, he taught himself to make furniture. His carefully crafted designs were shown all over the UK.
David’s designs have featured in countless international publications including the most influential, as an instigator of the trend of ‘raw sophistication’ and as an exemplar of environmentally responsible design. In 2008, the French magazine Express listed him as one of the top 15 designers in the world, and in 2012 the Pompidou Centre in Paris purchased his ‘Icarus’ installation for its permanent collection.

David’s work came to prominence in 2001 when the Italian design house Cappellini bought the rights for Body Raft. The Coral light followed in 2004 for DTL, establishing a blueprint for kitset products that minimised environmental footprint. The company is proud to hold Life Cycle Assessments (LCA’s) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).

Coral Pendant is based on one of the geometric polyhedra that have interested David Trubridge since he was a boy. The intricate form is made from just one single component repeated 60 times. Originally designed purely as an experiment, it only became a light later when David tried to find a use for it by putting a bulb inside.

Floral was designed three years after Coral light, based on a geometric polyhedra forms. Floral was designed to offer a softer more decorative offering alongside Coral which is more structured. The plywood finish can be all natural or painted creating a wide range of colour options. Floral comes in a range of sizes to suit any home or building.

It was almost by coincidence that Tom Dixon found out, he had a talent for designing. In the beginning of the 1980’s after a motorcycle accident, Dixon learned how to weld, as he had to repair his motorcycle. As a selftaught and independent designer Tom Dixon has worked for Habitat and Artek. In 2002, he established the design company, Tom Dixon. The water carrying vessels that are still carried on heads all over India provided the first inspiration for this series of pendant lights. The Beat Light is made from hand beaten brass; using rapidly vanishing skills from Indian master craftsmen, the beaten brass ages creating a patina black external surface in contrast to the warm golden interior. Tom Dixon designed the two new designs Beat Pedant Flat and Beat Pendant Waist for a more architectural scale lighting to sit with their Fat and Stout pendants. Flat and Waist boast a fresh silhouette and give off a greater light output.
