THE FOUR-WAY TEST OF THE THINGS WE THINK, SAY OR DO SA LAHAT NG MGA BAGAY NA ATING IISIPIN, SASABIHIN O GAGAWIN
The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages and Rotarians and recite it at club meetings.
1 IsItoitbatheayTRUTH? KATOTOHANAN? to all concerned? 2 IsItoitbaFAIR ay MAKATARUNGAN para sa lahat? Will it build GOODWILL and better FRIENDSHIPS? 3 Makapagdudulot ba ito ng MABUTING KALOOBAN at mas mabuting PAGKAKAIBIGAN?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
4 KAPI-PAKINABANG ba ito para sa lahat? ROTARY CODE OF CONDUCT As a Rotarian, I will: 1. Act with integrity and high ethical standards in my personal and professional life. 2. Deal fairly with others and treat them and their occupations with respect. 3. Use my professional skills through Rotary to mentor young people, help those with special needs, and improve people’s quality of life in my community and in the world. 4. Avoid behavior that reflects adversely on Rotary or other Rotarians.
Invocation We beseech thee, heavenly Father, to bestow thy grace upon us, As we strive to restore the vibrancy of our club, the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Cubao,
Grant us great hope and faith that we can: Trough Your blessing, encouragement and inspiration: Help us to be committed and engaged Rotarians; Willing to contribute unselfishly our vocation, our skills and talents, wisdom, time, energy and other material resources ; For the service of those who are in need in the society and the humanity. Regenerate friendship amongst us as we enjoy wholesome fellowship with one another: Remind us Lord that you are a perfect Father who listens carefully to his children and desires the very best for them. Guide us in every meeting, in every activity that we do, continue pouring your blessings upon us that all we do shall serve meaningful purpose;
We ask all of these in your Holy Name, Almighty Father.
AMEN

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE TGP Jesus “Jess” de Castro Tumaneng President, RY 2017-18
I
t’s September, a new month, new challenges, new hopes, new goals. I hope we can beat every challenge and achieve goals this month successfully just as we did during our first two months. I have a list of our September wishes which I hope we can accomplish within this month. With your cooperation and positive actions these wishes can be easily attained.
On September 30, 2017 is another District activity which needs to be attended by all past presidents. This is the All Presidents Night which will be held at U.P. Bahay ng Alumni. I enjoin all the 12 active past presidents to attend this affair to represent and show that our club is in very active status.
First, let us continue to make our weekly meetings formal, interesting, informative and relevant. As part of our plans and programs, let us start our classification talks this month. This is a venue by which we can know better one another by giving a talk about his profession or business.
Fourth, I agreed to co-host the project Painting Workshop, a 4-in-1 project initiated by Rotary Club of Pasong-Tamo Banlat. This project was held last September 9, 2017 and was participated by 11 clubs with about 60 participants. Our club had 3 participants, namely, Amy Tan, Adelaida and Agatha Borras. IPP Nikko Cayaga and I were also present during the project.
Second, let us do our annual visit to Ipo Dam as part of our environmental project; do tree planting and other project that will benefit the community in the area. Third, let us participate in the District’s Fellowship Activities. For this month, let us join the Rotabowl; an interclub bowling tournament which will start on September 17, 2017. So far our club has already formed the playing team which met and practiced last Sunday. The team is composed of PP William Lo Ang as the team captain, and PP Romy Tan, PP Fred Sanchez, PP Nonoy Vargas, PP Jimmuel Naval, PP Willy Mirafuentes and Rtn Cora Mallare as members.
4
Fifth, I hope by this month you can help me find 2 scholars to represent the club in the “Cooking for Life” project of the District. I will discuss the requisites for the scholars during our next meeting. Sixth, let us have a New Members Orientation Program either on 21st or 28th of September which is being offered by the District Membership Committee. DGN Bernadette Herrera Dy is open for invitation to be our speaker in this occasion.
Club of Cosmopolitan Cubao
Seventh, let us continue updating our TRF obligation this term and if possible to comply during the TRF month which November. Eight, visit Barangay Camachile to finalize the location and construction of our Community Toilet. I am glad that PP Nonoy have drawn the plan and made estimates of the materials needed for this project.
September 9, 2017 Saturday
Painting Workshop with RC Pasong TamoBanlat
Let us keep these goals for this month in front of us to inspire and propel us to action. with determination, and concerted efforts, we can attain all of these. Let us keep focused!

A Blockbuster Ghost Month of August by PP Romy Tan
T
he ghost month may not have been felt or may have been just shrugged off as a mere bad day. The first two Sundays of August were full of tense discussions. There maybe some who can still play jokes on the dire situations the Club is going through. It is sometimes hard to consolidate too many brains together but the necessity to do it grows more intense as the big day of August comes to a close. Was it the effect of the ghost that haunts our individual intricacies? Let us all give our wild guess. The collective effort of the members and the patience of President Jess amidst the pressure made everyone felt normal. It was his desire to pour out his very best efforts in this event that he cancelled important appointments and clinic hours. It is just one of those things that happen in Rotary that makes it even more memorable. The Cosmopolitan Review did not see print after the three-in-one due to another upcoming big event the following Sunday. This writer was not able to witness it due to some personal obligations that had been scheduled in advance. That Five-In-One is another one-time-bigtime activity of the Club. That is not what I want to tackle here.
6
What I would like to emphasize is the heart warming comments of Governor Chito Borromeo. One of the district officers admitted that they got new inputs from the reports of the Club. It was impressive and unique, contrary to the earlier mock GV’s that we had been conducting during Sundays. Maybe the ghost of the month did have an effect on us mortals. The Silver Hall was almost full to its capacity. Was it because it was a Sunday, traffic was a lot lighter and the following day; August 21 was a holiday? The instinct of Pres. Jess to hold it on a Sunday proved him right once again. The Great Presidents heard his call, they came, they sung and they celebrated with the Club. What a better way to welcome his one Rotary Year as the president of RC Cosmopolitan Cubao. On the other hand, the Club presented IPP Nikko Cayaga one of the Club’s most unique Club give aways, The Centennial Coin. Looking back at the result of the Club’s Three-in-One last August 20, I would say that it is worthy of a humble praise to all. MABUHAY ANG ROTARY CLUB OF COSMOPOLITAN CUBAO.

CORNER
5 REASONS
TO GIVE TO THE ROTARY FOUNDATION By Rotary Voices Staff | 27 November 2015
W
hen you make a donation to The Rotary Foundation, you are helping Rotary members make a difference in the lives of millions of people around the world, by promoting peace, preventing disease, bolstering economic development, and providing clean water and sanitation. Here are just a few ways your generosity is changing lives.
in 2002. Each year, the program trains some of the world’s most dedicated and brightest professionals, preparing them to promote national and international cooperation and to resolve conflict. They include graduates of a twoyear master’s degree program and a three-month professional certificate program at Rotary’s partner universities.
1. Eradicating polio Thanks to you, we are closer than ever to ending polio. In September, the World Health Organization removed Nigeria from the list of polio endemic countries after going a year without a reported case of the wild poliovirus. It has also been more than a year since the last case of the wild poliovirus anywhere on the African continent. Yet it’s no time to let up on our efforts. Keeping children protected from this virus and building on these achievements will require continued commitment and funding. And every dollar Rotary commits to polio eradication is matched 2 to 1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, tripling your impact.
2. Promoting peace and conflict resolution Rotary’s most significant effort to promote peace is the Rotary Peace Centers program, established

Polio immunization in Ethiopia. Your generous giving supports our work to rid the world of polio.

3. Supporting education Through a Foundation grant and in partnerships with the Organization of American States, Rotary members in Maryland, USA, provided a training program for teachers in Quito, Ecuador, which included the use of new technology. At the conclusion of the program, each school selected one story written by a second, third, or fourth-grade student to include in a book illustrated with student art.

4. Fighting disease In Tamil Nadu, India, two doctors, both members of the Rotary Club of Srirangam, discovered an alarming trend in the remote city outskirts of Trichy, women dying of breast cancer. They partnered with Rotary members in Maryland, USA, to purchase a large van, with the help of a Foundation global grant, and equip it with X-ray equipment. The “mammobus” has administered more than 2,500 free breast cancer screenings, and detected and treated early stage cancer in six women.

Wife: Let me take a picture of you p---s, I will have it enlarged
What’s hairy on the outside and moist inside, begins with a ‘C’ ends with a ‘T’ and has U’ and ‘N’ in the middle?
Girl: I’m like a radio, my mouth speaker, my left breast tuner, right 1 volume.
Answer: ‘COCUNUT’
Man: Can I try? (touches the breasts) - no sound. Girl: You haven’t plugged in yet! Son on his honeymoon phoned his mom asking what to do. MOM: Put your biggest thing on her hairiest thing. SON: Got my nose in her armpit. Now what?
GLOW IN THE DARK I really, deeply wish that you are here wife me in my room, on my bed & lights is off & we get under the cover together… to show you my… new watch that glow in the dark. BRUSH MY TEETH I love the way it rubs against the soft pink flesh... and creates a creamy foamy liquid as it thrusts in and out, up and down... Can’t wait to brush my teeth.

History of RCCC Club of Cosmopolitan Cubao
CHARTERED AUGUST 20, 1985
A
friend approached Judge Constante “Tante” de Peralta one day. His friend, a District Governor Special Representative of Rotary International District 380, DGSR Oscar Inocentes or Oca to friends was organizing a new Rotary Club and Judge Tante was, he thought of himself, the person who can start things moving. So in July of 1985, they started the wheels turning, culminating to the chartering of a new Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Cubao. The first meeting of the budding club was held on July 11, 1985. DGSR Oca provided the venue. The Inocentes Farm House, which has been home for the Club over many years. In just more than a month of hectic preparations and organizations, the club received its charter from Rotary International on August 20, 1985. The club continues its meetings every Thursdays at Inocentes Farm House from 7:30 PM onwards. Then on September 21, 1985, the historic presentation was done with no less than the District Governor Fernando “Nanding” Pedrosa as guest of honor and speaker.
