A new dishwasher is revolutionising the way dishes are cleaned. Jon Molyneaux from Miele South Africa, says: “A unique system dispenses detergent automatically and uses specially designed powder granules for best results.” These features are fitted into the company’s Miele’s G7000 and include AutoDos. Furthermore, the new dishwashers can be controlled via the Miele@mobile app, and can be programmed from a mobile device. All that remains for the user to do is to load and unload the machine, and occasionally replace the PowerDisk – everything else can be left up to the appliance. A PowerDisk is an innovation that is easily and quickly fitted in the device on the inner face of the door – and dispenses detergent by rotating automatically during the programme. Measuring approximately 15cm in diameter and around 4cm in width, the PowerDisk releases a defined quantity of powder granules into the chamber with each 360° turn. The system automatically dispenses precisely the correct amount of detergent required in a specific programme. Particularly in the 'Automatic' programme, dispensing is geared to the degree of soiling, which is monitored by a sensor. Consequently, more is dispensed to deal with heavy soiling and about a quarter less for light soiling. In 'Normal 60°C',
