CREATIVE EDGE has recently deployed the first few high-resolution LED installations of this new dynamic, screen type slots sign or display. Appearing globally in recent years, these signs are considered to be the cutting edge in technology for game and jackpot signage. Also packing a huge visual punch on the gaming floor, these signs are brighter and have a ‘neon-like’ vibe compared to the now traditional LCD screens. The product is also way more versatile and can be configured to many shapes and sizes as well as curves and cylinders – allowing for much of the signage surface to become a live platform.

Warren Cooper also says Creative Edge is proud to be just one of a handful of companies worldwide, specialising in this design and manufacture of this type of slots signage. The company has also recently been accredited with the ISO 9001 quality standard to help facilitate the drive to export these products. Both local and international slot machine manufacturers and casino operators alike have expressed great interest and excitement, we are looking forward to start rolling these out as soon as things start to normalise – especially as many of South Africa’s casino floors have sadly become barren or only have dated remnants of any slots signage,

losing the excitement, character and buzz the public used to expect. It also remains a statistical fact that a solid performing bank of machines will generate increased revenue with a sign fitted over that bank. These signs are sleek, and minimalist but pack a huge punch says Paul Gray, but most importantly offer great value, as even though the initial cost is a fair amount more than traditional signage, the longer term value, versatility and flexibility, render the product to be a solid investment, going beyond gaming jackpots and becoming an invaluable platform for the operator. Eastern Cape Gambling Board Hands over STEM Kits The Eastern Cape Gambling Board will hand over Maths, Science and Technology Kits to four schools identified by Eastern Cape Department of Education. These schools are in some of the disadvantaged areas of the ECape Province and the kits will assist them to demonstrate good maths, science and technology outcomes. The investment by the ECGB is targeted at young learners, Grades R-7, this is informed by well-established research which indicates that quality early education stimulates a greater cognitive growth and impact on early literacy and skills in these key subjects with the children more likely to be successful for the remainder of

their time in school. In addition to this investment, one of the Gambling Licensees, Gold Rush Gaming Group has also joined the ECGB as a Gambling Regulator investing about 6 Maths, Science and Technology Kits to a number of schools in the Province, with special focus to the schools that

are located in the impoverished areas. This is in response to the call by the provincial government that all departments, public and private sector institutions must invest in education and other welfare programmes in areas considered impoverished in the Province. February / March 2021
