Congratulations to all seniors graduating and walking on May 13th! All their hard work, dedication, professionalism, and passion for the golf industry has most definitely inspired others to want to do the same in the future, but more importantly has once again proven that the PGA Golf Management Program within the College of Business at
UCCS will continue “creating the next generation of leaders in the golf industry”. All these unique individuals have collected so much information about the golf industry that there is nothing that can stop these seniors from continuously improving the industry as a whole. Even though all of them may end up on separate
paths to their own success, all will remain life long friends, resources, and proud members, family members, and graduates of the PGA Golf Management Program at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs. Good luck to all of you on your future endeavors, you will be truly missed and remembered.
AMERICA’S CENTENNIAL
On April 15th on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive program, the Colorado PGA Section and its Golf in Schools program were spotlighted in celebration of the PGA of America’s Centennial. The Colorado Section PGA launched the Golf in Schools program in
2010 in partnership with the Colorado Open Golf Foundation. The Golf in Schools program was initiated to bring PGA Professional golf instruction to students in schools at no cost to the students, parents, or schools. The Golf in Schools program
consists of three days of golf instruction that starts with putting and builds all the way up to the full swing. To further the fun and enjoyment to both the PGA Professionals and students, the program finishes with an oncourse experience.
After the launch in 2010, where the Golf in Schools only offered instruction to 1,500 students in 10 schools, the program in 2015 was offered at more than 50 schools throughout the state with nearly 8,000 students participating.
