Rusacks ST Andrews & Marine North Berwick, part of the Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts collection is now open Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts properties are now open in the world’s most distinguished golfing destinations Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts has officially launched in the U.K. with the debut of two reimagined hotels in Scotland: Rusacks St Andrews and Marine North Berwick. This new collection of bespoke hotels in the world’s most distinguished golfing destinations will offer global travellers oncein-a-lifetime experiences along the scenic beaches of Scotland’s golf coast. Rusacks St Andrews is now open for overnight stays, with full food & beverage offerings opening in September - including “18”, the new rooftop restaurant overlooking the Old Course, led by Executive Chef Derek Johnstone, the inaugural winner of MasterChef: The Professionals’. Marine North Berwick, along with its new restaurant “The Lawn” led by National Chef of the Year finalist Chris Niven, will open in September as well. “We’re thrilled to be opening the first Marine & Lawn properties and to provide travellers with unforgettable journeys to the most prolific leisure destinations in Scotland,” said Ben Weprin, AJ Capital Partners founder and CEO. “Our team is extremely passionate about creating memorable gathering spaces, and it has been an honour to bring a new hospitality experience to some of the most coveted and historic destinations in the world. We can’t wait to host guests as they embark upon unmatched golfing experiences in these incredible locations.” Rusacks St Andrews and Marine North Berwick properties have seen a complete renovation and redesign across all guest rooms, public spaces and food and beverage venues. Led by AJ Capital Partners’ in-house interior design studio, both properties take design inspiration from each destination’s coastal positioning, rich golf history and legendary storytelling. While each property encapsulates a classic and timeless design, guests will notice nods to traditional Scottish patterns throughout the buildings to create a sense of locality. Timeless materials - that are attributed to the sport of golf - such as wood, pine, mahogany, brass, velvet, marble, leather and wool are used throughout the design. Honing in on the rich history of the game, the design team focused on telling these

stories through art and whimsical nods woven into discreet details, such as engraved historical mottos and hidden messages. Marine & Lawn has partnered with restaurant developer, White Rabbit Projects to launch and run all food and beverage outlets at Rusacks St Andrews and Marine North Berwick. Each hotel offers a variety of dining options, providing epicurean experiences suited for locals and guests alike. White Rabbit Projects is behind some of the most exciting hospitality concepts in the U.K. including Kricket, Lina Stores and Island Poké. With input from local suppliers throughout Scotland, the range of culinary offerings will encompass restaurant, bar and café concepts.
Local, storied artist Joe Austen, known as one of the world’s foremost painters of sports portraits, was commissioned to create the custom works. Portraits depict Mr. Rusacks, the property’s namesake; Old Tom Morris, St Andrews golfing legend; and an illustration of the property. Guest rooms continue the narrative of Scottish beauty and golf history with deep green and cool blue hues and welcoming, warm textures that complement the property’s acclaimed backdrops. Grand windows with luxurious drapery accentuate picturesque views of the rugged coastline. Chandeliers in the guest rooms showcase the iconic godwit bird known for grazing along the St Andrews coast. Food & Beverage: official “18” restaurant
“We are incredibly excited to be working with AJ Capital to launch these unique restaurants at the Marine & Lawn properties,” said Chris Miller, founder and CEO at White Rabbit Projects. “We have built a hugely talented team led by two of Scotland’s most exciting Chefs - Derek Johnstone and Chris Niven championing the exceptional quality of local ingredients. These are landmark hotels and it’s an honour to have the opportunity to help develop their food and beverage with the goal of creating truly memorable hospitality experiences.” Rusacks St Andrews - Now Open Rusacks St Andrews is now open for overnight stays. Housing 120 guest rooms, the property offers a range of culinary outlets, including a traditional Scottish pub and the rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the 1st and 18th holes of the Old Course at St Andrews and the Fife Coast. The hotel features unrivalled panoramic views of the world’s oldest golf course, celebrating 600 years of world-class golf history. The renovated property includes a 42,000 square foot expansion which will house additional guest rooms and the rooftop and restaurant, 18. Design throughout the property takes inspiration from the property’s coastal positioning and ultimate distinction as the birthplace of golf. On the reception desk sits a traditional St Andrews Coat of Arms badge, alongside a set of classic crossed Scottish flags. Three prominent paintings hang over the restored original fireplace.
Hotels
Rusacks St Andrews will offer three new restaurants – 18, The Bridge, and One Under Bar. Derek Johnstone, one of Scotland’s most renowned chefs and inaugural winner of MasterChef: The Professionals, will lead the kitchens as Executive Chef, championing local Scottish produce throughout his menus. A rooftop and Scottish restaurant, 18 will specialise in the very best seasonal local produce. Using the restaurant’s state-of-theart Robata grill, Johnstone’s menu will focus on open flame cooking and innovative game and seafood dishes. Situated on the fourth floor of the new extension, 18 will feature a full glass window, showcasing panoramic views across the Old Course, West Sands and the North Sea. The ground floor will house The Bridge, a more casual all-day dining option, continuing the theme of championing Scottish produce, a key pillar of Johnstone’s food and drink ethos. One Under Bar, an intimate, underground bar will serve the finest pub favourites, beers, whiskies and cocktails. Both destinations will embody the Scottish spirit of camaraderie and provide welcoming gathering spaces ideal for memorable post-golf meals, celebratory occasions and the best of Scottish flavours. Accommodation rates start from £219.00 per room including full Scottish breakfast and VAT. Marine North Berwick - Now Open Marine North Berwick offers 84 guest rooms, two unique food and beverage
concepts, a spa, pool and fitness centre, and 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event spaces. Overlooking the 16th hole of the historic West Links course of North Berwick Golf Club, the property boasts scenic views of landmarks including the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock. The design throughout the hotel takes inspiration from Scotland’s world-renowned golf courses and notable figures, with nods to the hotel’s stunning seaside location and surrounding natural wonders. Marine North Berwick embraces the beauty of the wilderness at its front door, with interiors pulling from the agricultural and architectural history of the area. Guest rooms pay homage to iconic golf holes with nightstands designed as golf tee boxes. Guest room carpet complements the nightstands and depicts golf ball and golf club motifs within the traditional pattern. The locally sourced artworks and the use of rich textures such as mahogany, brass and leather, contribute to the timeless elegance and the classic design approach. As guests transition into hotel common spaces, they will see a great reflection of local foliage, further rooting the design of the hotel into its surroundings. Food & Beverage: “The Lawn” official restaurant The Lawn, the property’s new restaurant with stunning coastal views, will be accompanied by a stylish, laid-back bar and lounge, The Bass Rock. MasterChef: The Professionals’ and National Chef of the Year finalist Chris Niven, previously Executive Chef at The Fairmont, St Andrews and The Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh, will head up The Lawn restaurant. With a seasonal menu designed around flavour and simplicity; the focus will be on the very best ingredients from East Lothian and the surrounding area, served in a relaxed setting. Niven will also oversee the menu for the hotel’s bar and lounge, The Bass Rock. The bar offers unrivalled views of its namesake which sits majestically in the Firth of Forth and will serve cocktails, international wines, award winning whiskies and local spirits, together with Scottish craft beers and ales. Reservations live September 12 and starting rates begin at £189.00 per room per night including full Scottish breakfast and VAT. Owned by Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners, Marine & Lawn joins AJ Capital’s growing portfolio of hotels throughout the United Kingdom. AJ Capital additionally owns and operates Graduate Hotels®, which recently launched The Randolph Hotel by Graduate Hotels® in Oxford, England and Graduate Cambridge in Cambridge, England. Hastings Hotels celebrates 50 years of the iconic Europa Hotel in Belfast, Northern Ireland Hastings Hotels is delighted to be celebrating the 50th birthday of the jewel in its crown, the Europa Hotel. In recognition of this significant milestone, the Europa (the most bombed hotel in the world) will be hosting an interactive installation in the lobby depicting its impressive history and the finials outside the front of the hotel will transformed to golden. The hotel is also welcoming guests with brand new menus and cocktails inspired by the 1970s. History The world-famous hotel was built on the site of the former Great Northern Railway Station and was opened in 1971 by Grand Metropolitan Hotels. The Europa was then purchased by the late Sir William Hastings in 1993 after it was taken over by receivers at a time when it was hard to believe that Northern Ireland would be seen as a tourist destination due to the Troubles across the province. The pioneering hotelier invested £8M and reopened the hotel in 1994. And whilst it is known as the world’s most bombed hotel, having been targeted 33 times between 1970 and 1994, the Europa is part of the peace story of Northern Ireland and has transformed into an iconic symbol of Belfast’s survival. Celebrity Guests The hotel is even better known for the celebrities that have stayed there over the years. In 1995, President Clinton became the first US serving President to visit Northern Ireland and stayed at the Europa. 110 rooms

were booked for his entourage and Clinton returned to stay at the hotel in 1998. Other famous guests have included Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Bob Dylan, Lionel Ritchie, Victoria Beckham and Elvis Costello. The Hotel Today When it first opened, the Europa was 51 metres tall and had 205 bedrooms. Hastings Hotels has invested over £40m after continuous renovations over the last 30 years and the hotel now has 272 luxurious bedrooms and is currently in the process of a renovation programme which will see the 90 front-facing Superior bedrooms, 85 Classic bedrooms and six Suites redesigned and upgraded. There are also 91 executive rooms built on more recently. Julie Hastings, Marketing Director of Hastings Hotels said: “Despite almost constant challenges and setbacks, the Europa continues to stand proud as a beacon for Belfast’s unique enduring spirit. No other hotel in the world has the history to rival that of the Europa’s. My father had the courage and optimism to buy it when nobody else did. He invested heavily at the time despite the bombings that followed over the next three years. And it was this confidence that then led to Belfast, and Northern Ireland, to begin its journey to become the well-loved tourist destination that it is today.” In Celebration The story of the Europa was told in a book published 10 years ago called ‘In the Headlines’ because it always was! And now

for this 50th celebrations there will be an interactive installation in the hotel’s lobby depicting its history for everyone to peruse and enjoy. The well-known central finials down the front of the outside of the hotel will be changed to golden and the famous sign that can be seem across the city will be replicated inside the hotel for those Instagram pictures. There will be menus, and cocktails offered from the 1970’s and the famous Hastings Hotels ducks will become golden. Martin Mulholland, Head Concierge of the Europa Hotel and one of the longest serving employees added: “The Europa is a Belfast icon. Guests love its story, the characters that have stayed here and indeed its workers. The story of Belfast in the last 50 years can’t be told without mentioning the Europa - from being the first international hotel in the city to the last word in luxury. It has never rested on its laurels, constantly extending, refurbishing, and updating to maintain its reputation as the place to stay when visiting Belfast. It has been my absolute joy and pleasure to be ‘front of house’ welcoming our guests from around the world for the last 35 years.” As part of the 50th birthday celebrations, the Europa Hotel has launched a Golden Moments package from £115 per room which includes luxurious overnight accommodation, full Irish breakfast, a signature cocktail in the Piano Lounge, signature truffles and exclusive golden Hasting duck. surrounded by the University of Cambridge, within walking distance of several colleges, and a stone’s throw from the city’s best restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel has undergone a complete interior renovation that includes all rooms, common spaces, fitness club and pool. A ground floor conversion has seen the addition of a café and bar, as well as the renovation of the full-service restaurant, which opened on September 10. Design Led by Graduate Hotels’ in-house interior design studio, the hotel’s design incorporates the history of the city, making the river the focal point with various accessible views, especially in the lobby bar. Colour palettes, patterns and textures in the public areas reflect the green surroundings of fields and the pastoral English countryside. With the punting boat rentals located just outside, the design brings local inspiration into the hotel, with life-size punting boats incorporated in the bookshelves in the lobby, a statement installation by local craftsmen. The lobby is also home to a hanging DNA installation to celebrate Rosalind Franklin, a pioneer in the development of DNA at the University of Cambridge. The guest rooms see splashes of “Cambridge Blue.” Key design details include wallpaper depicting school gates, bedside built-ins reimagined as punting boats, whimsical lamps in the shape of a penny coin, as well as striking wood and leather desks to give the rooms a studious feel. Bathrooms feature scenic pastoral wallpaper and mirrors in the shape of the university crest. Food & Beverage – Now Open Garden House is the new contemporary restaurant within the hotel, nestled on the banks of the River Cam. Adam Wood, formerly of London’s award winning Perilla, will lead the kitchen with his focus on openflame cooking and seasonal East Anglian produce. Garden House is a seasonable contemporary restaurant in one of Britain’s most cherished and historic cities. Set within the Graduate Cambridge, Garden House acknowledges a local continuity by remembering the original Garden House Hotel which stood on the same site for much of the 20th century. Wood’s menu is largely flame focussed, with seasonally changing dishes. Alongside Garden House, Graduate

3 ways to stand out as a hospitality employer Your people are your best asset, so how can you keep them longer? There are two key challenges facing the UK hospitality sector now. With fewer workers returning post-lockdowns, competition for attracting quality staff is intense. This means there’s even more pressure on employers to create an outstanding employee experience to keep people longer. So how do hospitality operators stand out as an employer? Here are three tips to create an outstanding employee experience for your staff.
1. Quality comms boosts employee engagement Employee engagement is more than a buzzword. It can be the catalyst to capitalise on the enthusiasm from consumers who simply can’t replicate the food, coffee or cocktail at home. When it’s done well – when people have the right information at the right time – it can make an enormous difference to your bottom-line. Using digital tools for instant communication, shift handovers and planning means people have predictability around when they work, as well as upto-date information for that shift, so they can focus and create that outstanding experience for your customers.
2. Tap into consumers’ support There’s a surge of consumer support for hospitality. A recent survey found consumers are now 13% more likely to leave a tip than they were preCOVID.
business has changed over the past year or so. Ensure you put time aside for dialogue and close interaction to understand what people need to do their best work when they return.
Your people are your best asset The experience economy – your business’ experience – is something that just can’t be replicated at home. Believe us, we tried! Investing in the people who make that possible will prove to be one of the best decisions you can make.

But going digital is key to take advantage of consumer support. Most are looking to leave a digital tip, with speed and the elimination of awkwardness the main reasons.
3. Ease staff back in after time out If your staff have been out of the loop on furlough, expecting them to return good as new and ready to take on new business challenges may be unrealistic. It may take a while for furloughed staff to get back into the swing of things and adapt to how your

Serving your fries “Just Right” is our mission. Hot, Fresh and delicious. The Vizu Fry Dump range is designed to make sure you can deliver hot fresh fries to your hungry customers every time, time after time. They have proven to be amongst our most successful and popular products and are seen in all manner of QSRs. Back in the mists of time, we created the Vizu Fries, a simple but popular fry dump that sold in its hundreds to fast food outlets up and down the country and even across the globe. Well constructed and durable, they can still be glimpsed today. This simple fry dump has evolved into the range we have today, each model designed to suit different locations, budgets and volumes. Take the Vizu Mini Fries for example, its conveniently small footprint means it’s easy to position even in the tightest of spaces. Heat above from four halogen lamps and an additional heat mat below the bagging area will ensure your fries remain hot. Two rugged switches control the heat mat and lights, allowing the operator to reducing energy consumption during quiet times.
24
An easy to reach storage area for fry bags and salt just below the bagging area means no more looking for a place for the packaging, and a convenient ambient cupboard base is ideal for storing additional items. A counter topper variant omits the cupboard base meaning the unit can be mounted on an under-counter fridge or freezer for convenient storage of frozen fries. If the Vizu Mini Fries isn’t big enough then the Vizu Mega Fries will fit right in. At 805mm wide and 710mm deep it has 25% more working area than its smaller sibling. Four halogen bulbs above and a heat mat below will keep your fries hot and ready. As with all the fry dumps the Vizu Mega Fries is equally happy on either side of the fryers, and the glass panel can be moved from the left to right using just a screwdriver. Convenient storage for packaging and an ambient cupboard just like the Vizu Mini Fries ensures that this is our top selling fry dump. If you need something more then the Vizu Mega Fries Topper may be what you are looking for. The Topper replaces the
cupboard with a freezer drawer ensuring that frozen product is always on hand. The biggest bagging area of all our fry dumps ensures that the Topper is great for high volume locations. The Vizu Server Fries is designed to sit on a rear service counter where fries can be cooked at the rear and served from the front. Plenty of storage for packaging on either side of the unit makes this a flexible solution where a rear service island is used. Vizu products are proudly manufactured in the UK by Fast Food Systems. If you want to learn more about our fry dumps check out our website www.fast-food-systems.co.uk Come and meet us on stand P10 of the Restaurant and Takeaway Innovations Expo. 9 & 10 November, Excel London for more information on Vizu Fry Dumps and the rest of our product range. ORGANISED BY:
The Cleaning Show returns to showcase advances in cleaning technology After a year that has seen heightened awareness around cleanliness and sanitation, it is more important than ever for businesses across all industry sectors to embed effective and safe hygiene practices. Helping businesses and cleaning professionals discover the next big product innovation, The Cleaning Show 2021, will return to ExCeL, London to welcome hundreds of suppliers and deliver a first-class conference programme. Organised by the British Cleaning Council and Quartz Business Media, the two-day event, which runs from 2-4 November 2021, is set to attract more than 7,000 senior cleaning professionals from across the contract cleaning, facilities management (FM), healthcare, hospitality, retail, and public services sectors – making it the UK’s largest and most important event in the cleaning and hygiene sector. More than 60 leading cleaning suppliers are already confirmed to exhibit, including returning exhibitors, Evans Vanodine, Numatic, ICE, Karcher UK, MITIE, Nilfisk and Killis. Attendees will have the opportunity to test and source new and exciting products from these exhibitors, along with companies
joining the event for the first time, including Apex Supplies, Team Software and Wepa Professional. Among the exhibitors confirmed to return, ICE, the UK’s largest independent provider of cleaning equipment, will be on hand to showcase its wide range of future friendly cleaning solutions. Among its newly launched products, ICE unveiled its new UV Bot – the latest in its co-botics range designed to advance autonomous cleaning through innovation. Killis, a leading manufacturer and importer of specialist cleaning equipment and janitorial suppliers will also demonstrate how automation is leading the charge, through the introduction of its Leobot. Fellow exhibitor Makita, manufacturers of power tools worldwide, will be introducing two of its powerful solutions for commercial carpet and hard-floor vacuuming. This includes the DVC560Z Twin 18V Upright Vacuum Cleaner and CL001GD225 XGT Vacuum Cleaner. Elsewhere on the show floor, Lavor will present its LI-ION Series, the new range of LAVOR floor scrubber dryers, designed
with lithium batteries to increase the level of productivity and reduce cleaning costs. Similarly, Rotowash will be showcasing its industrial floor cleaning machine to tackle all types of flooring. With cleaning organisations and businesses witnessing a sharp increase in the need for disinfectant sprays, companies like Vycel have embraced technology to pioneer future solutions for virus protection. Its Electrostatic Sprayer delivers a positively charged waterbased antimicrobial spray, quickly sanitising and disinfecting 100% of surfaces within just 30 seconds. In addition, P-Wave will feature at this year’s show exhibiting its GermErase 24hr disinfectant product in partnership with GermErase, whilst IK Sprayers will be introducing its new IK e 15 BS to visitors which comes with four specifically designed nozzles to improve effectiveness, safety, and speed of treatments. Lessons learnt during the global pandemic Welcoming a host of industry experts to discuss the latest insights and technological developments, The Cleaning Show conference returns, providing a platform to learn and discuss the latest developments, and major topics affecting the cleaning industry on the frontline of public health and safety. Industry experts will come together to discuss a range of varied topics including how autonomous cleaning can support and enhance current cleaning practices; the importance of training and the role of apprenticeships; sustainability and more. Demonstrating the growing importance of the cleaning and hygiene sectors to public safety, a dedicated session exploring the critical role of the new All-Party Parliamentary Group (AAPG) will be led by Jim Melvin, Group Chief Executive of The Exclusive Services Group Ltd and Chairman of The British Cleaning Council. Inaugurated earlier this year and sponsored by the British Cleaning Council, the group is one of the biggest and most credible APPGs to be established with a total of 53 MPs and three members of the House of Lords already members. With the profile of cleaning and hygiene never having been so prominent, this presentation will look at the work of the APPG and its critical role in keeping cleaningand hygiene at the top of the political agenda.

Another session dedicated to exploring the critical role of the cleaning industry postpandemic will be delivered by Jamie Wright, Managing Director of Incentive QAS Ltd. He’ll address the importance of focusing on public safety, as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, and why an emphasis on the importance of front-line staff continues into the new normal. In this presentation, Jamie will explore how the cleaning industry as a multi-faceted sector can work in cohesion to promote the importance of the essential services that it provides to keep people safe.
New for 2021, the Cleaning & Support Services Association will be hosting its 2021 CSSA Innovation Showcase in a dedicated pavilion at the event to highlight and celebrate the industry’s most innovative cleaning products, services and initiatives.
Demonstrating excellence
Businesses and organisations operating throughout the industry can enter their innovations via the CSSA website. Prior to The Cleaning Show, the CSSA will hold an Innovator’s Pitch with a panel of leading industry experts who will review and interview all entrants and select those to be exhibited at the Innovation Showcase itself.
Along with first-class networking, educational and sourcing opportunities, The Cleaning Show’s popular attractions will return, including the Window Cleaning World Cup. Open to anyone, visitors are invited to enter the Window Cleaning World Cup Challenge by filling in this form. The competition will be professionally judged by Guinness World Record qualified adjudicators, with a £1,000 cash prize up for grabs.
Jim Melvin, Chairman, British Cleaning Council, said: “This past year has more than demonstrated the importance of the cleaning and hygiene industry, which reacted and helped to safeguard and protect the public while ensuring that the UK’s commercial and public spaces are safe. Continuing to spearhead innovation, the industry has quickly adapted to all of the emerging

Makita introduces new 12VMax CXT Multi-Line Lasers to its range Among a series of new product launches, Makita has added two 12Vmax CXT multiline lasers to its extensive range of site equipment. The multi-line lasers project one horizontal and two vertical 360° lines and include a precise self-levelling feature to enable simple setup, layout and alignment. The 12Vmax CXT Red Multi-Line Laser (SK700DZ) and 12Vmax CXT Green MultiLine Laser (SK700GDZ) are versatile and durable with a range of features to make work on site as simple as possible. The Red Multi-Line Laser has a range of 25 metres in each direction (50 m diameter) while the green lasers of the SK700GDZ provide an increased range of 35m (70m diameter) and better line visibility in brighter conditions. The robust units are IP54 (dust and splash water) rated, have an operating temperature range of -10 to 50 ºC and feature a ¼ inch tripod thread for easy mounting. Each vertical and horizontal laser emitter on the tool projects four lines to create up to three 360-degree laser lines. Depending on
30
what is required, users can choose various combinations of the laser lines in addition to the full three line configuration. Single horizontal or vertical lines, vertical and horizontal combined or both vertical lines (front to back and side to side) are available. It also includes three brightness settings for optimum visibility depending on the environment. The multi-line laser units feature a rotary base with eccentric rotation mechanism, which reduces set up time, by enabling the laser body to rotate without changing the position of the defined plumb point. With a dial for fine adjustment, the vertical laser lines can also rotate around the defined plumb point by up to 10° left and right. In addition, the pendulum operated selflevelling system, which is accurate to ± 4º, makes it simple to ensure the lasers are level and even on uneven ground. The units also feature a pendulum lock where self-levelling is not required and to protect the laser when in transit.
The Cleaning Show Preview
Part of the Makita CXT platform, the compact 12Vmax batteries used in the multi-line lasers provide excellent runtimes, with up to 22 and 14 hours from a 4.0ah battery for the new red and green multi-line lasers respectively. The operational range of both multi-line lasers can be increased to 70 metres (140m diameter) with the use of the Makita LDX1 Line Laser Receiver Set (sold separately), which also enables effective, accurate use of the laser line in bright natural light. Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita UK said: “The new 12Vmax CXT Multi-Line Lasers have been designed for use on a range of site layout, first- and secondfix tasks. The multi-line configuration and self-levelling mechanism makes it simple to align and layout everything from doors and windows, floors, pipework and electrical installations to tiling, lighting and kitchen and bathroom installations.” To find out more about the Makita range of laser levels visit: www.makitauk.com

P-Wave® launches powerful and scientifically-proven GermErase 24hr P-Wave has launched GermErase 24hr, a powerful, new, scientifically-proven disinfectant that destroys bacteria, viruses, and fungi, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus (which causes Covid-19) – killing it in under 30 seconds.
“At P-Wave, we’re renowned for bringing innovation to the cleaning sector and after noticing a real lack of ‘fit for purpose’ products when it comes to sanitising, especially during a pandemic, we decided to partner with GermErase to offer a range that is unrivalled in the marketplace,” says Mark Wintle.
“For over a decade, P-Wave has built an enviable reputation as a respected innovator in the air freshening industry,” says P-Wave Sales and Marketing Manager Mark Wintle. “As a direct result of the Coronavirus pandemic, health, hygiene and above all safety is now at the top of everyone’s agenda – and in premises, people need to feel as safe as possible. So, P-Wave has evolved, and our message is now ‘Protect and Refresh’.
“Many of the widely used sanitising products in the marketplace require several minutes of contact time in order to be fully effective, but GermErase 24hr kills the virus which causes Covid-19 in under 30 seconds, and offers up to 99.999% efficacy against pathogens. It delivers a residual protective effect for 24 hours on surfaces, protects hands between washes and has a lower chemical footprint with 99.3% water.

On surfaces, it can be used in a trigger spray or fogging machine, delivering 24 hour protection against pathogens once dry. In a rush? Why not make a big batch of concentrate ahead of time! Use 10 temples per 1 litre of 40
boiling water, then once brewed store in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Dish out 100mls of concentrate per serving, top with hot frothy milk, and off you go! Not sure which milk to use? Elis helps Bistrot Pierre communicate brand values through new workwear Elis has provided French-style restaurant operator, Bistrot Pierre, with new workwear that helps to communicate its core brand values. The company is also operating a workwear and linen laundry service for the restaurant’s 19 venues. Elis sourced new chefs’ wear and front of house uniforms, including undertaking the bespoke embroidery of new denim aprons. Bistrot Pierre marketing director, Arpita Anstey said: “Elis really understood our brand proposition and helped us source uniforms that reflect our French heritage and are uniquely ownable and great quality. We wanted uniforms that our team members would be proud to wear and that are comfortable, breathable and practical. For front of house we selected a classic Breton striped T-shirt with a denim apron embroidered with our logo. Back of house, the chef whites are of a superior cotton too.
service levels provided have been great, with good stock levels maintained and ease when ordering replenishment and new stock items.” Craig Easton of Elis comments: “Elis can support businesses of all sizes; from one restaurant to hundreds, because of our comprehensive UK coverage and delivery network. The fact that we do not sub-contract any work, while owning our own delivery vehicles, helps us to ensure high levels of reliability. “We provide an essential service that goes on behind the scenes, allowing businesses to focus on what they do best. Our nationwide capabilities and use of the latest
technology and the best systems help to ensure that clients have the right support to meet their needs.” The Elis laundries use advanced energy and water saving processes and the company has been recognised by the Carbon Trust for reductions in CO2 emissions and water usage. Elis has been operating its workwear and linen supply and laundry service for over a hundred years. Its services also stretch beyond the UK, as part of a leading international provider of workwear and laundry services, operating in 28 countries. For further information see uk.elis.com or telephone 0800 616691.
“It was really important to the brand to have an embroidered logo on the front of house aprons. We are incredibly proud of our heritage and our brand logo, featuring 1994, the year our first Bistrot opened, is core to our brand visualisation. Elis did a brilliant job in replicating this on the uniforms using a copper thread.” Elis supplied the workwear after undertaking an audit of usage across the sites, which led to Bistrot Pierre being able to make savings on the quantities being provided. The Elis mobilisation team then ensured that the change-over to the new uniforms went smoothly. Arpita adds: The roll-out of the new uniforms across the business went really well, being undertaken in a timely manner and with ease.” Elis is also undertaking the regular laundry of the workwear and linen, with its nationwide network of industrial laundries and delivery fleets collecting, laundering, maintaining and returning the items to the individual restaurants. Elis uses the latest technology in all aspects of its service; the workwear and linen incorporate tiny radio frequency ID tags which help to deliver superior stock control and accountability, and the highest levels of reliability. Arpita adds: “The Elis RFID tracking and ongoing monitoring of usage means we have greater stock and cost control and the 44

Alongside this are high-quality accessories including items such as towel rails and tumbler holders.
