FROM THE DIRECTOR Graydon H. Yohe
Director, Health Zone At Saint Francis
Covid- 19 Risk vs Inactivity Risk vs Isolation Risk The decision TO exercise and WHERE has never been more difficult. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have carefully weighed the risks and made the decision to remain active, whether here at Health Zone, at home or outside. Activity is still the best medicine for the prevention of lifestyle diseases, which despite the presence of COVID-19, still carries the highest risk of preventable death. We have seen the ill effects of isolation in many of the populations Health Zone serves. While social distancing is critical for the prevention of COVID-19, social interaction can also be critical to maintain mental and physical well-being. As we continue working to prevent the spread of COVID-19, I believe Health Zone is maintaining the highest standards to reduce exposure and spread of the virus, while providing the best exercise and socialization opportunities in a safe, respectful environment. If you have any concerns or questions about how Health Zone can improve on these issues please reach out to me or another staff member. Finally, I am happy to announce the return of Dr. Kenneth Piper and his question and answer series on the journey of aging. We will also be re-opening the Zone Appetit deli services. Both will return with significant COVID-19 safety precautions in place. Look for more details in your emails or on signage around the facility. Yours in Health,
Graydon
