Stewards of God’s Gifts In today’s Gospel, we read about Doubting Thomas. He could not believe, without seeing for himself, that Jesus had truly risen. Living Stewardship ~ Pillar of Service: How do you show others that you believe that Jesus rose from the dead? Do your actions say, “I am a believer. I am a Christian?” This week, make your actions align with your beliefs.

Sunday of Divine Mercy April 24, 2022 Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 12:00 Noon Mass. Three Consecutive Holy Hours: 1:00-2:00pm 2:00-3:00pm 3:00-4:00pm (Join in any one). Closing Benediction at 4:00pm.
Jesus’ Message of Mercy is summarized as ABC: A- Ask for God’s Mercy B- Be merciful to others C- Completely trust in God’s mercy. The Five Elements of the Message are summarized as FINCH: F- Feast of Divine Mercy I- Image of Divine Mercy N- Novena of Divine Mercy C- Chaplet of Divine Mercy H- Hour of Mercy
We wish to feature the Chaplet of Divine Mercy this year. Jesus revealed it to Sr. Faustina as a powerful prayer He wants everyone pray. Sr. Faustina was interceding in her own words about a dire situation – to no avail. Then the Lord gave her the words of the chaplet, and as she began to pray those words the hand of the ‘angel of punishment’ was stayed! The Lord directed her to pray in those words, and to teach others to do the same. “Encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given you…Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death…When they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the Just Judge but as the Merciful Savior…Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite mercy. I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy…Through the Chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My will” (Diary, 687, 1541, 1731). The Chaplet can be prayed anytime, anywhere. The Lord also asked that it be recited as a novena over the 9 days before the Feast of Mercy (Divine Mercy Sunday). We can pray it for our own personal intentions, for others, for the Lord’s intentions. “By this novena [of chaplets] I will grant every possible grace to souls” (Diary, 796). HAPPY DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY! May the Divine Mercy ever bless you and yours! And may you ever come to Him with the vessel of Trust – and draw!
The Chaplet of Mercy Recite this chaplet on the beads of the Rosary in the following manner: First of all, say one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and the I Believe in God. On the Our Father Beads, say the following words: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. On the Hail Mary Beads, say the following words: For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. In conclusion, recite these words three times: Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Reading II: Revelation 5:11-14 “To the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor, glory, and might, forever and ever. Gospel: John 21:1-19 ‘And when he had said this, he said to them, “Follow me.”’ Question for Adults: How have I taken up Christ’s mission as my own? Question for Children: How can I be a friend of the risen Jesus? Church of Saint Mary | 6
Rosary Society Our Mission Statement: The Rosary Society fosters devotion to Mary through prayer and good works for causes that would be dear to her heart Invest 20 minutes of your day to pray the Rosary, and see the difference it will make in your life. If you would like the Rosarians to pray for a special intention, please e-mail us at rosarysociety@stmary.ws.
Today is the Sunday of Divine Mercy Take time to ponder the Blessed Mother’s life. Try your best to put time aside to learn more about Mary by reading Scripture or other writings on the Blessed Mother from a pope or saint, and spend more time with Mary in prayer. Ask her to draw you closer to her Son. When you pray your daily Rosary, try your best to immerse yourself into each mystery, pausing and praying for the many graces available to you. Always ask for graces! We learn St. Faustina’s understanding of Mother Mary’s important teaching role in her life. “Mary is my Instructress, who is ever teaching me how to live for God.” Strive this week and beyond to learn from Mary and live more for God. Saint Faustina also said, “Mary, Immaculate Virgin, take me under Your special protection and guard the purity of my soul, heart, and body. You are the model and star of my life.” (Diary, 874)
MAY CROWNING Sunday, May 1st The Rosary Society will sponsor their annual May Crowning as we begin the month of May dedicated to our Blessed Lady. All families, especially those of our First Communion students, are invited to attend the 12:00 Noon Mass. Our Lady’s statue will be crowned on the altar, and after Mass, the Rosary Society’s own statue, located outside the Parish Office, will also be crowned during a brief ceremony. Please join the Rosarians as we honor Mary with this very special tradition.
RCIA and Adult Faith Formation Sacraments of Initiation Postponed for Candidates Last Sunday we announced that our RCIA candidates had received their Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. That was written much in advance of the actual day due to early bulletin deadlines. Unfortunately, Isabella came down with COVID-19 two days before and was obligated to quarantine. She and her mother were unable to be present for the Vigil and for that reason they did not receive their Sacraments. Isabella is feeling well at this writing and tests negative. Hopefully she and Ingrid (her mother) will both be able to receive their Sacraments in the near future. Sister Teresa can be contacted about our RCIA and other Adult Faith Formation programs at 516-627-0385, ext. 1010. Her office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 10:00AM and 4:00PM and other times by appointment.

Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament An Easter Prayer
Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with Benediction Mondays 3:00 - 5:00 PM
Good and gracious God, Our most glorious Creator, As we greet the signs in nature around us: Of Spring once again regaling us in bloom, In the songs of returning birds and fields soon to be planted, We give you praise for an even greater sign of new life: the resurrection of your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, that we especially celebrate at this time. The sadness and despair of his death has given way to the bright promise of immortality. For the Resurrection is our guarantee that justice will triumph over treason, Light will overcome darkness, and love will conquer death. As we celebrate, we also dare to ask for your grace that we may live the promise given to us, By imitating the life of Jesus in reaching out to the poor, the marginalized, the least among us, As we strive to be neighbor to all those we meet, We ask your special blessings each and every day on our leaders. Working with them may we strive to make this great country of ours a beacon of hope and justice in a world hungry for peace and so in need of your love. We praise you in this Easter season. Change our lives, change our hearts to be messengers of Easter joy and hope. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ, our risen Lord forever. Amen.

Talk to your family about organ donation and transplantation. There are currently 10,000 New Yorkers waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Major religions celebrate this as a final act of kindness. In 2014, Pope Francis said, “Organ donation is a testimony of love for our neighbor.” One organ donor can save up to eight lives and heal up to seventy-five lives through tissue donation. Organ donation is oftern possible even with certain health conditions and advanced age (the oldest donor in New York was 93 years old). For more information, visit LiveOnNY. org/info.

O Most Holy Trinity, Who deigned to raise Venerable Anthony Vincent Gallo to the priesthood, and endowed him with precious gifts, especially that of a burning love for suffering and immolation, we humbly beseech You, if it be Your will, that he may be glorified on earth, and that we may obtain through his intercession the particular grace which we ask for with living faith. Amen.
