Distributor in Illinois : Lagniappe Beverage and Hospitality Andrew GROSSMAN (260) 413 6285 www.lagniappebeverage.com Chateau D. de Beaufort does not make fashionable wines, not simple or woody wines: rather, for 25 years now, he produces wines that are natural, in the tradition of the great wines of Burgundy that allow full expression of their terroir. To produce his wines Jean-Jacques Coudray allows the fermentation to start naturally, in wooden vats, over the course of a few days, without external yeast or extraction enzymes. The control of temperature is also natural and made to avoid any sudden fluctuations. The grapes are selected manually, working from vine to vine: the lees also are stirred manually and regularly, in the traditional manner, in a way that brings roundness to both red wines and white wines and liberates the essential aromas and elegance. Finally, each year Jean-Jacques applies his knowledge to ensuring that his wines display all the best qualities of the vintage and his vineyards.

Château-Fuissé is situated in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé vineyards of the Mâconnais in Southern Burgundy, France. The Vincent family (owners of the estate since 1862), produce wines of exceptional quality, thanks to the estate’s privileged and outstanding terroirs. Currently managed by 5th generation winemaker Antoine Vincent, the estate depends on traditional winemaking with carefully applied modern technology. Hand-picked grapes and whole bunch pressing are applied followed by a vinification “parcellaire” respecting the age of the vines and soil type. Philosophy: “Terroir expression and the optimization of its qualities”.

In Chicago : Frédéric BROUCA frederic@brouca.com Marie-Noëlle & Laurent Ternynck are crafting impressive wines at their small estate in Chablis. They have been making wines under the Domaine de Mauperthuis label for more than 20 years on the outskirts of Chablis. The family recently purchased vineyards and a winery in Chablis to compliment their holdings in the surrounding areas. Laurent & Marie-Noëlle are equally adept at producing whites and reds - a rare feat at the northern limits of Burgundy. They are doing things right at their estate: smaller yields, native yeast fermentation, gentle handling of the grapes & juice, and judicious use of sulfites. The Ternyncks are coaxing the minerality, salinity, and focus we have all come to expect from northern Burgundy.

Transmitted since 1889 by Antoine ROUSSET to Georges ROUSSET then to Daniel and now to Denis and Geneviève, the fiber for the profession of winegrower is transmitted with evidence and conviction. Brother and sister united by passion and ambition, Denis and Geneviève created their own farm in 1889 while working with their parents who had enlarged the estate of 15 ha. Today, it is 50ha of vines (planted in 95% Chardonnay) for an annual production of 100000 bottles.

In 1926, Louis Picamelot was one of the very first Rully’s inhabitants to invest in the production of Burgundian Sparkling wine, produced with the so-called Champenoise Method. Nowadays we call it the Traditional Method. Philippe Chautard, actual Manager, invested in a 4000 m² old stone quarry to be metamorphosed into a new and modern winery entirely built in the rock. The green roof and the stone walls of the old quarry offer a natural temperature control and fit into an ecofriendly approach. Between 2007 and 2017, in the aim of a better control of the quality of the grapes, we purchased about 16 hectares of vineyard located in Côte Chalonnaise i.e Rully and Mercurey and in Côte de Beaune (such as Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet and Saint Aubin). Louis Picamelot’s own vineyard supplies 50% of its required grapes. The other 50% are sourced from selected and faithful winegrowers.
